It was a beautiful day outside. So beautiful that Stephen was gazing wistfully out of his office window, only paying enough attention to his work to make sure that he didn’t unnecessarily approve something crazy like a syrup water park or a bar that only sold water. As his wife had borrowed Valexa for the day (for completely innocent reasons he was sure), he was all by himself. As such, he felt as though he needed to get out of the office for a bit and enjoy the weather while it lasted. After all, the work right now was an extremely low priority, and he knew that Valexa didn’t like him to do anything important without her to make sure that it was double checked. Getting up while stretching, he grabbed his coat before exiting his office and walking over to the turbo lift. Pressing the lift button, he stood for a few second, waiting for the car to arrive. Went it finally did, he got on, glancing around to see if anyone else was taking the same opportunity as he.

Since having spent lunches with Halai, Astrid had gotten used to going out at least once a week for lunch. Most of the time she was alone and used that opportunity to take her mind off of work completely. Sometimes, it was in reading a book. Sometimes she occupied her time listening to music, but she always did so at a delicious lunch place or on the beautiful government maintained grounds. Now that Halai was gone, she still made herself leave the confines of her comfortable and lovely office for the change of scenery and people. Astrid had noticed the beautiful day, so when Sofi came in to see if the Judge wanted to order lunch, Astrid waved her away stating she was going out.

Inevitably, that meant Security would be accompanying her. Ever since the attack on her home, she always had security officers with her. They were very good at remaining far enough away that she didn’t feel claustrophobic. Most of the time when they were near, she didn’t notice them actively. She knew their names and what they looked like. She had endeavored to know them as people and to some degree, befriend them. The Judge left, grabbing her jacket and her briefcase before heading out of the massive Judiciary office that took up an entire floor and heading to the Elevator.

As soon as the Elevator arrived, she looked up to see Steven Binns, Head of the Chamber of Commerce. She smiled and entered the lift, her two guards right behind her. “Monsieur Binns. Heading to Lunch?”

Stephen glanced at the guards, then smiled at Astrid. “In fact I am, I assume that you also had an urge to get out of the office as well?

She nodded. “Yes I am. I find that I really do need the break at least once a week to enable my mind to stay sharp and my judgments sound.”

She was reminded of the last time she had been around food with Stephen Binns. The elevator came to a stop and the door opened. She turned her face to continue speaking with him as she walked forward. “It is a pity that your house party was so rudely interrupted. I am looking forward to the next one. Will it be soon?”

Stephen laughed, “As soon as I can convince Roze to allow the security system to not target people who are related to or work directly under me.” Although he said it in a joking way, this was in fact something that the maid had done. Finally reaching the ground floor, the lift doors open, allowing the two to step out and exit the building.

As mister Binns entered his car, he would likely see Shinzak exiting the executive building as well. As the Reman would cross eyes with the human, he shot a wave.

(OOC: by car, he meant the Elevator… its also called a car. Rewrite to join or we can write to meet up with your post?)

OOC: The latter please.

The Lt. Governor, wearing his civilian government attire, saw them from across the street. His attire was the all back suit that had the top long and cut straight at the bottom with a V neck top and buttoned across the middle at an angle. A lighter version of the older SF dress uniform.

OOC: I’m trying to figure out how to wedge myself into this thread. Maybe some help.

Xavier

Waving back and Shinzak, Stephen also noticed Xavier across the street. Giving him a wave as well, he shouted, “Well isn’t this a surprise? It seems as though quite a few people are out and about today.”

OOC: sorry for the delay everyone, too many tabs plus something coming up again kept me from posting.

The Governor crossed the street and extended his hand toward Stephen. “Good to see you.” He said pleasantly.

Xavier

Astrid had never met either of the two gentleman who had come upon them, but she did know one. She smiled pleasantly to both men and stepped up to Xavier as he finished greeting Stephen. He was a half a foot taller than her, but her heels did enable her to come close to even with him. She extended her hand to shake his own. “Lt. Governor, it is good to finally meet you. I thought I might have been able to arrange it before now but OED had quite a lot of challenges in the legal department that took a great deal of work.” Her accent was lightly French and melodic, matching her very prim pale blue skirted suit with a blouse of cream and small blue birds. Wind gently tugged at her hair, elegantly coifed in a knot at her crown and decorated by a matching hat tilted a little over her face.

“I trust you will forgive me?” There was nothing disingenuous in her manner. Astrid was every bit as polite, professional, and considerate as she seemed.

Rousseau, HotJ

“Most definitely. I unfortunately better than most understand the demands of OED. However do not let me interrupt. I merely wanted to make the acquaintance. ” He said not wanting to impose on them.

“Well then, we won’t take up too much of your time, but you are free to join us if you want to.” Stephen hoped that Astrid wouldn’t mind the offer, as he felt it rather rude to at least not offer to someone he worked with on a regular basis. Turning to the judge, he motioned his head towards the nearby cafe. “Shall we?”
