A tall man in a dark coat and red tie entered the Central morgue of the Sacred Heart Hospital. Pointed ears, Black Irises and dark spots coming up his neck and to his ears showed his multi-special nature. The man flashed his badge and was shown through to the Medical Examiners Office. After a moment he was greeted by the ME. “Afternoon, I’m Detective Chief Inspector Pangolin from the Special Crimes Unit. I’m inquiring about the autopsy of case-file 221-AG, Judicial murder victim.” He spoke with a slight Oedvian accent.

DCI Pangolin

OOC: Is this a different autopsy or the one Longstreet and Karlson was going to?

Sidney

OOC: Different one (involving my PRSIM) which I will have those details up here in the next day or so. Just trying to post what I can in the next few minutes.

Longstreet was in the area anyway for the last autopsy so he dropped in on this one.

“One of mine or the Top Cop’s Dr. ” He told the pathologist.

The Chief Inspector turned around to face the Commander “This would be mine, Commander Longstreet” His tone was friendly, he’d known the Commander for a good while now “Strictly civilian, but you are welcome to join as always” Pangolin turned back to the Examiner and waited for the report.

A tall half Klingon half Betazoid woman with small rides on her forehead and nose and her dark sunkissed hair down around her shoulders walked in dressed in a black pants suit and heeled boots from being in a meeting. Normally she would have been in sctubs like the rest of her doctors but the higher ups liked their professional atire and she had no reason to atagonize them…yet.
“Good evening detectives, good to see you are working together. I thought I might have a jurstiction fight on my hands,” Linarra said with a grin but reached out to shake their hand. ” I’m Dr. Linarra Riccio Head of Medical and Social Services. Thought I would come down here to speak to you both personally once I heard you were in the building. Is there anything I can do to help with your investigation?” Linarra said with a her watered down Betazedodian accent.

Linarra Riccio: Head of Medical and Social Services

The tall mixed man shook her hand with a polite smile “I’m Detective Chief Inspector Pangolin for Special Crimes, this is Starfleet Security Chief Longstreet.” His eyes shared her Betaazoid blackness “I’m here investigating case-file 221-AG, Judicial murder victim.” He put his hands in his coat pockets with a half smile.

DCI Pangolin

“I’m here hoping it is his case so I can move on.” Longstreet said only half joking.

The young dark haired examiner looked to and fro between the newcomers. “Seems we have a lot of interest in this case…” she said more to herself than to anyone in particular.

“Ready?” she inquired.

Once they were set, she pulled the body out to be seen. “I will warn you, it is not pretty.” The body was covered in bumps and many bruises. The face was nearly unrecognizable from what it likely looked like before.

“Massive amounts of internal bleeding, scarring of the lungs, and multiple counts of cancer. There’s no real way for us to pinpoint what the leading cause of death was, as the body is so badly mutilated that it simply isn’t possible to tell which was the end of it all. But I think the one thing I found most interesting was this.” She brought out a small sample of tissue neatly contained in tubule. “I analyzed the genetic makeup of the body. It helps us determine whether it was actually one person and not another. The DNA is actually broken and mutated. I can’t determine for certainty this who we think it is. But, upon realizing this, I did some research and do you know what I found?”

She let the others make some guesses before she ultimately revealed what had happened to the poor man.

-Examiner Yolanda

“I’m hoping not much and that this is a clear case of death by natural causes.” Longstreet said knowing this would not be the case. A genetically mutated person was getting way too close to a possible SF security concern for him. He really wanted Pangolin to earn his pay today.

Longstreet COS

Linarra looked at the body calmly as she listened to the examiner. She had seen many dead bodies while in medical training. Admittedly nothing quite like this. She tried hard not to let the sight and the smell get the best of her. Instead she concentrated on the puzzle and task at hand.
“Radition I’m guessing,” Linarra replied with a shrug, she needed answers and not a guessing game. The half Klingon hadn’t known Yolonda long so this was as good a time as any to figure out how best to work with her.
“I get the feeling you’re going to tell me something like this has been reported before,” Linnara replied as she looked away from the body and back Yolanda.

Linarra Riccio-Head of Medical and Social Services

Longstreet looked over to Pangolin.

“My dance card is full so if this is yours I’m happy to assist. Maybe even if its 50/50 you can have the lead. We’re always happy for the police to do everything and then we swoop in and take it over as a National security case. ” He said still hoping it was less than that and he could assist. However Longstreet knew his duty and was more than ready to take it on if it was his.

Longstreet

Pangolin chuckled dryly by habit. Starfleet didn’t really have the resources to handle but a small case-load and Longstreet was in his mind the only qualified investigator they had up in that monstrosity they called a Station. “I’ll have someone send up the access codes to the SCU’s new servers. They brought in someone from Hekla Corp to build it for us.” He crossed his arms “I think we’re just a few years from being mostly run on a Karlson brother” It wasn’t clear if he was joking or not.

DCI Pangolin

“Sounds good. I will leave you to it then. If it does cross that line please let me know.” Longstreet said this time a little more seriously. “Thanks Dr’s and Inspector.

Longstreet then left before Pangolin had more time to think about it.

Once the COS made his departure, Yolanda continued with a nod to Linarra. “Yes! Radiation. But I’ve never seen any like this here on Oed ever, or in any past medical records. This man basically took on a very large quantity of radiogenic radiation.” She paused, glancing about to see if anyone had a clue what that was. She did, but she was hoping someone was connecting the dots. Or at least what few there were to see here. Linarra had already done well enough with that.

-Examiner Yolanda

The Inspectors eyes narrowed as he listened to what the Examiner said. “Was the man killed with some sort of weaponized radiation? Shouldn’t such manner of killing be easily traceable.” He asked. Radiation was not exactly in his reportoire.

DCI Pangolin

The examiner nodded. “It ought to be traceable, unless the weapon has some sort of way to conceal radiation emissions coming from it. The problem is, you can trace particles of radiogenic radiation all over Oed and determine, not just where the supposed weapon is, but where it’s also been. Radiogenic radiation isn’t harmful in small doses, so its likely people don’t even know its around. That being said, there could be many places all over Oed with traces of this type of radiation still, that is if the device or weapon, or whatever, had moved through the area.” She paused allowing her words to sink in.

“I don’t know much else beyond that. I’ve never done a trace for radiation particles. Probably something you might want to talk to S&T about?”

-Examiner Yolanda
