As Valkris glanced through the menu, already intend on the food decision. She needed some normality. Bacon and eggs with a gagh side, Sem’hal stew, and Targ milk sounded delicious causing her to smile a bit.

When Dawson stated the question, Valkris looked past her menu and to him. Her eyes narrowed on him with the obvious answer of yes.

“My common sense says it’s likely got something to do with trouble… but enlighten me with the details. I’m really curious about the reasons and if I can help. I still owe you for the incident with the zoo.”

OOC: 2nd Bump here, so I’m not AWOL.
-Janice B.

OOC: Sorry for the long delay.

IC: Dawson grinned at her reply. “You’d be correct!”

He then slid her his Padd and allowed her to look over the information. On it were articles of various sorts, with the commonality having to deal with a mysterious group called the “Conclave.”

Dawson leaned in and spoke low. “These people mentioned as the conclave…they’re information brokers. They dig up dirt and sell it to the highest bidders. Orions, klingons, romulans…you name it. Starfleet Intelligence has had a very difficult time pinpointing their exact area of operation. Right now, however, I’m not as much interested in that as I am a certain member of the group.”

He then pressed a finger to one corner of the device and up came the image of a petite, yet very feminine woman with green eyes and red tresses that cascading past her shoulders in a tightly held ponytail. “It is my understanding that we may have the opportunity to apprehend this woman.”

-Dawson, Owner of Secret Securities

Valkris listened, her expression masked and indifferent for now. Her fingers dragged the data pad closer then began to survey the information. She flickered her finger across the screen, absorbing it while he continued to talk in a whisper. When the image of the woman popped up, she paused in her reading and looked at it. She quickly committed it to memory until he finished.

“Who is she?” Valkris knew there was a big reason that Dawson wanted this woman apprehended.

OOC: Bumping this while I think of what else to do with Valkris.
-Janice B.

OOC: Sorry for the long delay Janice. My hope to post the day I got back ended up backfiring on me. I am back now though and catching up!

IC: “She is a woman who goes by many names,” started Dawson. “However her real name is Cindra, and she is El-Aurian. I believe she has information I seek, but she may not give it willingly. Nor will it be easy to corner her.” He swiped the image aside, revealing a set of coordinates for a distant planet. “It’s a class H planet. Mostly dessert, but there are a few forests on the surface. Little water. Starfleet Intelligence has detected vessels everyone once in awhile come in and out of the system, and that planet has to be key. There are only 5 in the system, this one being the only one potentially habitable. ”

He paused allowing for Valkris to express herself.

-Dawson, Owner of Secret Securities

Valkris took the details of the coordinate and examined them while she listened. Her fingers brushed over the holo model of the planet’s image, confirming what he spoke. She didn’t like what she heard, but it made sense. When someone didn’t want to be found, they picked the worse place possible. This proved the woman wasn’t stupid.

“Not familiar with El-Aurian save I heard they are very elusive and rare. Does she have certain people often by her side? Individuals she values for their skills?” The security officer looked at Dawson, breaking from her current read.

OOC: Bump. to keep on the board now.
-Janice B.

Longstreet had a surveillance eye on Secret Securities at all times. Anyone involved with SF Intel was an interest to him. He treated them as the enemy and many times for good reason. He was interested in the goings about of the young ensign.

OOC: Just putting myself in the thread so as to give Longstreet and MacLaren more to do with each other.

Longstreet COS

OOC: That will make things interesting. ;) hahaha.

IC: “I doubt there are few others she trusts. Likely the occassional few here or there, but nobody that I could tell that was always with her.”

He took a sip of his beverage before adding, “You’re right about El Aurians, by the way. They’re known as the race of listeners. Excellent at blending in and lending an ear to hear with. Often times they embody positions that keep themselves off of the radar, never seeking to interfere much.”

“Ultimately I’m there to get information from her, but if we can capture her for intel, I’d be ok with that as a secondary objective,” he ended. “What are your thoughts?”

-Dawson, Owner of Secret Securities

“This case feels like a hell of a challenge,” Valkris noted.

Her eyes darted about the cafe’ as she considered the situation’s tangled web. Being in an aloof position often increased the risks for capture and that often led to dangerous consequences. This Conclave also provided another possible threat to their mission. Some times the loyalty of a high paying client was worth more than their silence. It was too late to address that now.

“I’m guessing she won’t cooperate and just hand over the intelligence when she sees you. How do you plan to acquire it if she becomes difficult? Can you even trust it?” She noted, bring up the obvious questions she had no doubt he asked himself before. These were hard questions that revealed a lot about his personality.

Longstreet did not have surveillance inside the building but he knew that Maclaren was there and he waited. He figured he would beam in close to the location when the Ensign stepped out and bump into him.

Longstreet CoS

Before Dawson could answer, the waitress arrived. A small woman with long brown hair, all of it done up in a tight bun and fixed to the back of her head. She wore a plain server’s apron over a blue dress. The waitress set down a few glasses of water while she adjusted her grip on her datapad and prepared to take the orders.

She flashed them both an apologetic smile. It was then, Valkris’ attention zoned in on her surroundings. During the time of their conversation, the place had become busy. More customers had entered creating greater chatter.

As the woman looked from Dawson to Valkris, she spoke.

“I’m sorry for the wait, I’m ready to take your orders now.”

“Yes,” Valkris started then reminded herself of her cravings.

“I’ll take an order of bacon, eggs, gagh side, Sem’hal stew, and Targ milk.” Already her stomach growled as she considered the amount and taste of her order.

The woman smiled then turned to Dawson to take his.
