After the second announcement, a rather expected comms reached the bridge from engineering. =^= Sural to bridge. Has there been a change in ship status regarding command code authorization? =^=
- Sural

Ooc: To make a short and sweet note here. All command level functions, navigation, weapons, and shield systems have been locked out.

-GM

A minute or less later he transmitted again … =^= Sural to bridge. In attempting a routine diagnostic I received a notification that ‘clearance level black’ was required. What is this clearance? =^=
- Sural

After a short period of time Sural reached the bridge. All communications were silent up to this point from them. Logic dictated caution while prudence dictated speed. In the end he opted for the turbolift, however he did have phaser in hand as he exited. Were he human he would have frowned. Instead he found the bridge operating .. relatively normally, albeit without any command crew in sight.

To the tactical station, he inquired, “Are shields up? Are sensors working to scan the region of space for any other vessels? If so, do so.”
To the comms station, he inquired, “Where is the Captain, executive officer, and …” he thought of the computer voice … “… and the security chief? Call at least one of them to the bridge.” He holstered his phaser. “The rest of you, arm yourselves. Report all stations status.”
He scanned the bridge crew to try to note anything out of sorts with them, however he was not trained in that. Anything he might hope for would need to be rather obvious, he knew.
- Sural

Sural stood behind the command chairs looking at the view screen.
“Helm, have we altered course at any time in the past hour?” he inquired.

=^= Sural to all engineering crew. Conduct physical examination of all critical systems as you are stationed there now. Report any irregularities. Your computer access is severely limited. Utilize physical examination for detect irregularities.=^=

=^= Sural to security leads. Engineering staff is conducting physical checks on critical systems. I request a security presence at each of these locations to accompany the engineers while they work. =^=

Sural, Eng

The NE at the helmet double checked himself. ‘No Sir. There haven’t been any changes made. I could tell you where we are currently headed, but it wonders do any good. Speed has fallen from warp 3 to less than .1 impulse speed. Thrusters are locked out as well.”

-GM

“Curious,” Sural replied. “Are you able to engage any sensors at all? Short range perferably. Perhaps the optical sensors. They are more mechanical astronomical than computer based.” He didn’t say it but he suspected that if they changed their speed to this that some form of rendezvous was in order next.

He received a beep on his PaDD and brought it up. A message from Ens Crawford. A power spike from the lower decks. Once more he said, “Curious.” He was uncertain on just what to do with this. If no command crew arrived soon, he would have to assume defacto command. He noted that Winston was copied on this as well, and where he was in theory, the XO and COS was. He hoped that might ensue some action.
- Sural.

The doors to the bridge swooshed open and D’vash stepped out, flanked by two security guards that immediately took up positions o each side of the lift doors.

Stepping confidently, to the center seat, the XO barked out in his gravelly voice, ‘’Status, Mr. Sural.”

Odinson (XO)

Sural felt a wash of relief in seeing the XO, though, given that some would consider that an emotion, he rationalized that by being grateful that the XO was able to make it to the bridge. He straightened up as he made the report, “Sir,” he began with a tip of his head. “The computer appears to be compromised in some fashion however we do not yet know how or to what extent. This Condition Black is a mystery to me. It has locked nearly out all controls beyond very simple status checks. All departments were sent by this Condition to their alert locations. We have moved from Warp 3 to .1 impulse. Thrusters are off line. Shields are nominal showing navigational shields. In engineering we were unable to conduct even a simple diagnostic test. Upon questioning the computer about the alert condition I was chastised and logged for ‘punishment’. While I did have freedom of movement to get from engineering to the bridge when I did not receive any communications from them, and was able to secure a phaser, controls are severely locked down - to command functions - and that, according to the computer, by the security chief and captain. The most recent discovery has been that while systems and power utilization on the ship is down, there is an energy spike in the lower decks.”
- Sural, CE

D’vash rose an eyebrow. “Chastised, and logged for punishment? What the hell does that mean?’ he asked, not expecting a logical response that would make sense.

“One of the perks of spending most of your career in Intel is that you get a pretty high security clearance as you rise in rank. My current clearance is higher than both the Security Chief and the Captain.”

The XO sat down in the center seat and began punching in a command to the console. “If my override commands don’t override things, then. . . . ” He offered Sural a look that implied “We’re screwed”.

Odinson (XO)

Beid walked onto the bridge and looked around. “What is going on? All the systems are acting very strange.”

Beid, CSO
