OOC: I’m assuming the small party from Gully’s quarters makes it to Sickbay. Correct me if they don’t, GM. Also, I missed the fact that Odinson went to the Bridge before Harding’s suspicions of a nerve agent, so we can leave him there for the time being. The GMcan decide if he’s doing okay. :)

IC: The main doors to Sickbay swished open as a flat, gray, hovering stretcher pushed through. A prone figure that looked strikingly similar to Ensign Gully, but was almost assuredly not the unfortunate officer, occupied it’s broad expanse. Just behind the stretcher was a small, but determined band of officers.

As Harding had ordered on their way to Sickbay, quarantine protocols were in place. The general ward of Sickbay, largely empty, had been evacuated save two nurses in protective gear.

“Help me get Gully,” he used the Ensign’s name for lack of an alternative, “on a biobed then conduct a level 1 scan of Lt. Oberon and Winston. Specifically, you’re looking for any signs of an active nerve agent.”

The nurses helped Harding as he raised the anti-grav stretcher to the level of the biobed and transferred the nearly lifeless form to the more permanent structure. As the nurses moved to tend to Oberon and Winston, the doctor began detailed scans of “Gully”.

“N-nerve agent?” Winston gulped. “I … I don’t understand. Where would that have come from?” He was starting to panic; a cold sweat breaking out. He knew all about the potential dangers from what they used in engineering, and byproducts of plasma leaks, phaser coolant and the likes not to mention any of the things that could come from impulse engine fusion leaks. Those he could deal with. They were known. Nerve agents .. no, and he was getting worried.
- Winston, Eng

Pretha came in behind the well tuned medical group. Working as a unit, which she never doubted, the Gully doppleganger was seen to then she and Winston were next up. “No worries, Winston. I’m sure we’re fine. I think once this is done here, getting back to engineering and seeing what else on the ship has been compromised is probably the best course of action for you.” She watched the doctors and nurses move around as they gathered what they needed to see to the small bunch that had arrived. “I need to start making rounds of the stations and see that everyone is accounted for. Whatever is happening, I’m not sure how much I trust our technology at the moment.” She waited to get scanned thinking, I need to get to the bridge and make sure D’Vash is all right. Maybe he will know what’s going on by now as well.

“Oberon’s right,” Collin said over his shoulder as he awaited the results of his can. “You’ll be fine. We’re just overly cautious here in Sickbay.”

Winston’s PaDD beeped. A text from Reno, and Sural. He read it and shuffled nervously. This was like something out of a classic horror holo. Something is noticed and people investigate and the first couple of groups are eaten or turned into zombies or mercilessly slaughtered. He hoped he wouldn’t be in the first couple of parties to investigate. But knowing his luck …

“Lt, do you know of anything happening around the deflector dish? There’s a power drain there. Big one. C-Centered behind the deflector in a parts storage area. Bridge also has this. Sural says the XO is up there now too.”
- Winston, Eng NE

All scans on the personnel would show no nerve agents. Other than raised adrenal levels from excitement or fear, all signs are normal. Gully, however, had degenerated to cardiac arrest. His nervous system firing randomly instead of synced up for normal functions.

Oliver stumbled into sickbay out of breath. He’d run here all the way from engineering lugging a tool box and a phaser as ordered, but he still wasn’t quite clear on what was happening, only that a ‘Code Black’ program was locking the crew out of command functions. As he came through the door the exhausted ensign’s eyes went wide at the scene before him. “Is he uh… ok?” He managed, pointing at Gully, the man actively having a heart attack just a few meters from him.

After a second, Oliver buried his face in his hand as he realized that he’d violated the order the Captain gave when the Red Alert was issued: he came here alone. He didn’t know why that was important, but in his rush to get here he realized he did violate the order. “Oh boy, I do know how to make a first impression.”

Harding didn’t look up from his patient as he spoke, “Oberon, Winston, you’re clear. Back to your duty stations. Pierce, do what you came here to do. Quarantine is lifted.”

With that his focus tunneled on saving the imposter prone before him. As the man’s nervous system shut down there were few to no options. He had to triage “Gully’s” symptoms and the cardiac arrest shot to the top of his list.

“Cardio stimulators applied. Clear.”

And with that a substantial yet localized jolt shot through the man’s chest.

Harding, CMO

Oliver, who was just ordered to rendezvous with Sural in sickbay, took a step to the side, watching the procedure with a somewhat terrified expression on his face. He gripped his toolbox, hoping the Chief Engineer would show up soon.

Sural arrived a couple of minutes later with the two security NE’s in tow. He took in the scene. The individual on the bio bed logically was Gully, however by all reports he was also one deceased and one who had operated a transporter to transport himself out into space - while dead. Now he only appeared mostly dead. Just like water, Gully had been impressively active in all three states of being.

Spotting Oliver and Winston he gestured them over. “Ensigns, we have been tasked with investigating a power drain down on the lower decks. There are storage rooms there not far off from the deflector dish.” He took in Winston. The man looked nervous and slightly pale. Quite normal. His gaze went to Oliver who had a wide eyed look to him; his glance had been toward the medical scene unfolding. He hoped that the doctors could revive the man.

Quickly he sent a text to Reno. =^= 1 or 2 =^= meaning … storage room 1 or storage room 2. One was on deck 31 and the other on deck 32. Before going he wanted to have their correct destination.

“I do not know what we may find, however we need to be prepared for either danger…” he glanced at the security NE’s “… or something to work on.” He glanced toward Oliver’s tool kit. “All we know is there is a power drain that is anomalous. She ship is severely vulnerable at the moment and we need to lessen that quickly and find answers to this mystery. Do you have any questions?” He took in all 4 of them.

Sural, CE

With Sural there to corral the NEs and the rest of the inspection teams, she murmured her thanks to the med team and hightailed it to the bridge. She had every confidence in security’s ability to hold down each of their posts. But she needed to get the bigger picture.

Oliver shook his head, still occasionally glancing over to Gully. He really couldn’t think about what questions to ask until he saw the system undergoing the drain himself. He readied himself to head down to the storage bays on Sural’s order.

The cardio stimulators would work for a short time before he flatlined again. Unfortunately unable to be revived afterwards. All genetic scans would show him to be Gully in full. However, there would be discrepancy in when he caught a certain flu not native to humans. The medical files say in his late teens. The man on the table would show no signs of ever having contracted the illness.
