From Sick Bay the group of five moved to the nearest turbolift. He was not going to make an verbal order until they reached the deck in question lest the computer consider their intrusion to be hostile and lock them out. It may already have happened; the Terran concept of ‘Big Brother’ had considerably evolved over the centuries. Today it was nothing to consider one’s every move to be logged or tracked or flagged - until one might be threatened by it.

“Deck 31,” he said as they entered the lift and the doors closed. “In an emergency such as we are in,” he began, “the deflector dish is something that is critical to a vessel. It was something that should be put onto one’s ‘list’ of critical areas to cover in the event of a ship wide alert. That is why we are going there now.” His tone suggested that he was intimating a ‘stretch of the truth’. The storage rooms were their destination, however he still wanted to put the computer at ease to their journey.

Winston curled up his face in a question and was about to speak when one of the security NE’s gave him a nudge followed by a finger to his lips to ‘stay quiet’.

Oliver had never seen a Vulcan try to lie to a computer before, and it was something of a surreal experience. Still, with all the social grace that the universe had gifted him, Oliver attempted to play along, “I’ve uh… Never worked on the deflector dish of a real starship before… Uh… Sir.” He tried to communicate on the sly, just as his superior had done, “Anything we should… watch out for?”

The turbolift would descended to deck 30. From there it would not budge further downward by any command. The screen on the lift wall list up with a “CODE BLACK” override screen as the turbolift rose another 3 decks and stopped with the doors shwishing open. A very confused looking Crewman looked at the armed officers and just put his hand in the air, “I think I’ll just catch the next one.”

This had not been a complete surprise to him. In fact Sural was inwardly pleased by this. He didn’t know precisely whether it was deck 31 or the next. The fact that they were not allowed onto this deck told him that logically, their place of interest was there. “We will take the stairs then,” he said. He had little doubt that they would have barriers in place. However, they would be more physical or electronic barriers rather than attempting to circumvent a rogue computer system. As they moved along the corridor, he tapped his badge. =^= Sural to bridge. Unable to achieve direct access to the deflector dish deck. The message stated ‘Code Black’. We are currently on Deck 27. =^=

Sural considered the desk. The secondary docking port was there and it extended to the deck below. There were junction ladders between them which they could access from inside the docking port. Barring being allowed access they could break through but cutting the lock, forcing the door and taking the ladder down. There was some ability to connect from the docking port through a tube to the shuttle bay which again expanded over two decks that would bring them to their target deck. That was the potential plan. They would have to see how many challenges lay between here and there.

OOC: Aren’t we on deck 30? Or did we go back up to 27?
IC:
Oliver sighed and continued to follow Sural. This was getting wild, and he didn’t quite know what to make of it. Still, they were going to pass through the shuttle bay, which by a chance of fate was his territory now, so maybe that would rub off some good luck.
