Toren had been dreading this. Micah’s old office. He knew from the ships manifest that she wasn’t the counsellor anymore, he guessed that after what had happened she hadn’t felt up to helping others, but still, the place had far too many memories for him to feel at ease in.

He approached the door and rang the chime. When the door slid open, he stepped inside smartly.

“Ensign Nalar, reporting for Psych Eval”

Ensign Nalar

The door opened with a shhk, revealing the counselor’s office behind. The decor of the office was strange, to say the least. Other than the nice, human-sized couch, everything looked like it had been manufactured for a child. The desk was half the height of a normal one, and even the computer looked small. There was a chair opposite to the couch that, strangely, was proportioned for a child but was tall, almost like a high chair. The counselor himself, well…

The man was a feline alien, no more than three feet in height when standing. He wore a sleeveless flowing grey robe, with gold, silver, and reddish embroidery covering it in intricate detail. Honestly he’d rather wear nothing in regards to cloth, but that didn’t seem to be approved of around here. On his ears were a selection of bright golden rings, some with small gems embedded in them. His wrists bore woven rope bracelets, the right arm wrapped from wrist to elbow in braided twine. His right leg, although not visible from where he was seated, bore an intricate silver brace, the metal woven in its own patterns.

The small alien stood and walked to the open door to greet his guest. “Greetings,” he said, his head dipping respectfully. His right palm rested on his chest, then extended out in a graceful motion towards Nolar. “May your hearts beat strongly, and your love grow wide,” he spoke as he performed the action, then pulled his hand back, folding his hands in front of himself.

When he did this, it would be shown to the ensign that on his hand he had three fingers and a thumb, as opposed to the regular four and a thumb. “Thank you for coming. Please, take a seat,” he spoke, gesturing to the comfortable looking couch, then moving over to his chair and gracefully leaping into it.
