Collin flashed her a weak smile, “He’ll be fine. I know I can’t predict the future, but I know he will be.”

Collin leaned in and gave her a quick side hug, quick enough so the busy bridge crew didn’t notice him comforting their temporary CO.

Harding, CMO

Suddenly a nearby panel light up. A runabout had dropped out of warp and was hailing them. =^=Wooden Shoe to Olympic.=^=

-CO

Pretha smiled at Harding. “Thanks… I’m glad you are here, Doc.” She leaned into the embrace a moment then straightened up. She didn’t care who saw. Everyone knew she was with D’Vash now, or would soon enough if they didn’t. And she doubted the directions of the Doctor’s attentions weren’t unknown either. But she ‘did’ startle as the hail came in.

“I didn’t remember their being a runabout out and about…” She hailed the ship back. =^=This is the Olympic… go, Wooden Shoe.=^= She wasn’t sure what to think, since there seemed to be duplicates of everyone right now. She only hoped that this was ‘her’ crew and not the mirror one.

Pretha
CoS/Temp CO

Collin was surprised by the hail as well. The nature of the attack on the Olympic had left the crew looking inward not outward. Had they missed an additional threat?

Even as he thought the question, he doubted that the hail was from a foe. Their opponents from the mirror universe were back on their heal, if they had allies on the outside ready to aid them they were unlikely to open with a hail.

The doctor kept his position at the station, waiting for the Wooden Shoe to respond to Oberon.

Harding, CMO

=^=Olympic, this is Captain Hamicar Jasar, I have been assigned as your new commanding officer. Request permission to come aboard.=^= came the reply, with a slight middle eastern accent.

-CO

Pretha almost choked. “Harding… a new CO… NOW?” There was a taint of panic in her voice. This couldn’t be happening. Right now the computer thought ‘she’ was the CO, and yet there was another CO about to come aboard. She glanced around the room and pointed to the Security NE who had remained behind for protection and an engineer NE sitting at one of the stations. “You two, down to the shuttle bay right now. NO ONE is to enter it from outside, I don’t care who you ‘believe’ they are. You are to bring the shuttle crew and the CO to the bridge immediately and not stop anywhere. If they ask why the cloak and dagger, tell them they arrived in the middle of drills and you were given explicit orders not to allow the drill to be disrupted. Do you understand?”

Collin felt his hands grip the station he was at, his knuckles turning pink while the rest of his hand went white. A new CO made no sense. Shirazi wasn’t here. That didn’t mean she wasn’t coming back. Did it? As he felt a tangle of emotions rip through his chest, he was thankful for Oberon’s take charge response. She may be as confused as him, but she wasn’t letting it stop her from taking control of the situation.

After receiving both hurried acknowledgments, the engineer took a phaser from the locker, now being guarded by the navigator, and the two disappeared into the lift. Tapping the comm, Pretha tried to put a smile into her words. =^= Wooden shoe, this is Pretha Oberon, you are cleared for the shuttle bay and will be met and escorted to the bridge.=^= She immediate cut the comm and looked to Harding as panic started to set into her features. “Harding… what do I do?” She shook her head and moved to the back of the bridge to pace. “Ok… I can do this. I’m the Security Chief. I just need to think like one.”

=^=Understood Olympic. Wooden Shoe out.=^= If the new CO showed any concern from the transmission, his voice didn’t show it.

It was just the two of them on the Bridge for the moment, the remainder of their NE crew off to fetch the new captain. While Oberon paced, Harding found himself standing still. It was an unusual position for the man who seemed to have boundless energy.

She was running thru scenarios in her mind as she wondered how to keep the intruders from interfering while her security teams looked for them… keep the incoming CO from being harmed… “Wait…” She glanced back at Harding. “Were you aware there was a new incoming CO? I don’t remember anything being said…” Now her security hackles were truly raised and the haze of panic was swiftly being replaced with the clarity of what was needed of her.

Pretha
Security Chief (and defacto CO)

The bridge watched as the runabout maneuvered and safety entered the shuttlebay minutes later.

In the shuttle bay, Hamilcar exited the shuttle and looked around, an slight expression of concern was on his face, but he tried to hide it. He was unarmed and carried only his suit case and a backpack.

OCC: We can just play this part here as he will want to go straight to the bridge.

-CO

“No,” he responded directly to Oberon. “How could we know. When the mirror universe attack began we had a perfectly fine CO in command of the ship. Could this be a ploy? One last play by our adversaries? I gave Odinson my tricorder.”

Harding, CMO

OOC: Come on up Captain. You may face a skeptical audience. :)
