“We have GOT to find the CO. I don’t like this arrival.” She shook her head and took a deep breath. Suddenly she turned to Harding. “Can you use the tricorder in the Officer’s Ready room to scan anyone? There is an emergency medical case behind the supply panel in case it’s needed during guest visits.” She was moving swiftly towards the Captain’s ready room to the side of the bridge.

“That should work,” he agreed.

Entering the room, she turned in a circle trying to remember where she had seen it last time. “Oh…” she murmured and moved to a cabinet beside the small alcove where drinks and snacks could be left for those using the room. Opening the panel she removed the medium sized case and set it on the table. Opening it up, she glanced for the tricorder usually sitting in its clipped holder on the inner side of the lid.

Out on the bridge, Collin and Pretha would hear the turbolift doors open and close.

A moment later D’vash appeared in the doorway to the ready room, a cocky grin on his face. “You can both relax. I’ve got the situation under control.”

Those few words were music to Collin’s ears. He immediately felt his shoulders relax.

The XO walked over toward Pretha, grabbed her and pulled her close Forcefully and passionately, his mouth covered her with a warm, wet kiss. After a moment he stopped and without turning away fro her, said over his shoulder, “Doc, you mind giving us a little privacy?”

Odinson (XO/aGM)

At that Collin laughed. Maybe it was the built up tension of the situation and the sudden, joyous release. Maybe it was the shock he knew Oberon would feel at the public display of affection, even if it was only Collin in the room and he’d been there on their first, unofficial date. It didn’t matter the reason, the man who smiled easily, now laughed heartily.

Pretha gasped as D’Vash, never this open in view of others, claimed her lips, and body, in front of everyone. As he asked for the room she heard the turbo lift and smiled up at him. “Soon, we need to make sure everyone else is ok.”

At that moment, the port turbolift opened and out stepped a middle aged, of middle eastern descent wearing the command uniform of a Captain. He was of average height and looked slightly under weight. He had dark eyes and short black hair. He took a step out of the turbolift and was flanked by two NE’s, both armed.

“This isn’t exactly the welcome I was expecting.” The man said casually in a middle eastern accent. His face was serious as he looked around the room, gauging the situation.

D’vash rolled his eyes at another distraction. turning to face the new entrant, he asked, “And just who the hell are you?”

Hamilcar narrowed his eyes at the question, but said nothing. His eyes went back and forth between the two officers, taking in their appearance and mannerisms. He knew nothing of the situation, his report wasn’t specific on what was going on.

Pretha slid from the XO’s arms and moved to the doorway in time to see the new Captain arrive. Glancing to Harding with a flash of panic, she had an idea. A smile lit her face. “I’m Captain Oberon. A pleasure to meet you, Sir. I apologize for the odd welcome but we hadn’t expected you till tomorrow. We’re running a ship wide drill and I wanted to be sure you weren’t considered simulated advasaries.”

Hamilcar raised an eyebrow, a slightly amused look now creeping on his face.

She glanced back at D’Vash. “This is my second, Commander D’Vash. D’Vash has just returned from… From engineering. I was just about to get his report, if you’ll excuse me just a moment. Please have a seat. NE Patters, please fetch the Captain some water or tea if he prefers.”

Hamilcar didn’t respond to this, or to the NE behind him. He continued to look at the two officers around the bridge then back to the officers, taking in the whole bridge.

She then turned back to D’Vash. Her voice dropped as she smiled at him. “I didn’t want to tell him where your really been. Is everything ok? Everyone all right?” She hadn’t chased Harding from the room yet. And where she was standing would block either gentleman from leaving the room without pushing past her.

D’vash appeared to change and regain his composure. “Yes, sir, everything is in order. Just as it should be.” His gaze shifted to Jasar with just the briefest flash of anger behind his eyes.

Odinson (XO)

Hamilcar put his hands in his pockets, he seemed to relax a little. “Well, I guess congratulations are in order then. I guess sometime between my leaving Black Rock and arriving here, you were promoted from Lieutenant Junior Grade and Chief of security to Captain. Yet you are still in your Security uniform with your old rank still there?” he said in a semi-sarcastic voice. “and tell me Commander,” he turned his attention to D’Vash. “As the XO of this ship, how come the Chief of Security got the position of Captain, before you did?”

-CO

Collin was leaning against the wall taking in the scene at this point and he hadn’t managed to grab the new CO’s attention yet, Oberon and Odinson taking enough of the attention. He took a step forward.

“Sir, I’m the ship’s Chief Medical Officer,” he palmed the tricorder Oberon had retrieved for him. “I apologize if this seems a bit brusque, but I need to run a quick scan before we can proceed with our, um, warm welcome. I promise, we’ll explain it all shortly.”

Collin gestured for the new arrival to offer his hand.

Harding, CMO
