Pretha hoped Harding was looking after those behind her as she continued. She didn’t want the CO distracting this XO with questions, so she tried to sum things up as she stayed close to D’Vash… close enough to block his phaser from hitting anyone else without first taking the time to shove her aside. “I am very impressed with your skills. You managed to be on my ship for how long, while avoiding detection? I mean… I’m sure half my bridge crew can’t be trusted, can they?” She smiled and her chin dipped slightly as her voice dropped. “Then you time it just when a crew change is happening. I can imagine ‘all’ types of scenarios you have going thru your mind on how you would infiltrate the Olympic, then…” she rested a hand against his chest as her other hand settled on top of the phaser and slowly began to press so it would point down, allowing her to move closer. “And then… what? Earth perhaps? Fleet Headquarters?”

She stepped sideways a bit, seeming to want him more privately for a moment even with others looking on. Once more she hoped in the back of her mind that someone would stun him. She could take the sting if need as well. If the Doc or the CO could manage it, D’Vash needed to be taken down now. She started to lean in to kiss him once more, this time hoping they were profile enough to the others for someone to take a shot. “Kiss me again… and mean it this time…” she let out a small laugh and sigh as she moved to close the gap between them.

Pretha
Stun fodder?

Collin had slowly moved his hands down, very obviously moving to pocket his tricorder. His own subterfuge didn’t seem to matter as Pretha was doing an admirable job distracting their foe, but he knew her angle would only last a moment longer. The Chief of Security was providing an assist, but she needed her teammate to make the shot. Collin was more comfortable with a phaser at his hip than the usual doctor. His time embedded with the Marines had ensured that and he’d armed himself shortly after realizing the Oly had been invaded. As his left hand sheathed his tricorder, his right hand unsheathed a small, type I phaser. He didn’t dare take the time to raise his arm to fire, bending it at the elbow instead, his forearm rising just enough for his aim to square on the impostor’s exposed flank. A push of a button was all it took for a bright yellow beam to strike forward.

Harding, CMO

The NE providing security seemed to take the hint and slowly handed the Captain his phaser. He was impressed by the way that Pethra was distracting this mutineer. He would remember that. Quickly checking that the phaser was set to stun, he quickly aimed and fired, aiming for the Mutineer.

Fauxdinson realized what Pretha was doing a moment too late. His gaze shifted to Harding as he began to take aim. At the same time, he reached for Pretha to use her as a shield. Harding-s shot stunned the false XO as he moved, but the second shot from the CO was enough to knock the man to the canvas. . . .

Fauxdinson (XO)

Thankfully both shots missed Pretha, but as the fake D’Vash collapsed, his stunned grip was tight on her arms. She toppled down with him but managed to hit her knees and rolls to her hip, then bottom, rather than landing on the fake XO. She was catching her breath as the CO’s growl met her ears.

Hamilcar, after watching Odinson take two phaser blasts turn the phaser towards Pretha. “What the hell is going on?” He stated, although his voice remained level, there was deep anger in his voice, amplified by his accent.

Harding returned his phaser to its holster and reached for the tricorder he had only recently sheathed. The fake Odinson now out of commission he could transition back to his primary role, that of healer. It had been years since he’d needed to treat someone he had injured himself, but that didn’t negate the duties of his profession. He moved to the now splayed form that looked far to uncannily like a man he considered a friend, and knelt beside him taking in his vitals. The stun setting should leave any lasting harm, but he’d been hit twice, so Harding wanted to make sure.

As he scanned he did his best to explain what was happening to the new CO, knowing Pretha could fill in the blanks.

“The Olympic is under attack by people from the mirror universe. It started when a murdered officer was transported off the ship. It was only by sheer coincidence that Lt. Oberon discovered this. Blood left at the scene confirmed it belonged to Ensign Galen, but another Ensign Galen was found healthy, in his quarters. Upon discovery he attempted to harm himself. I’ve developed a test to tell friend from foe, the one I administered to you, but we haven’t had a chance to test the whole crew. Our Odinson left the bridge before you arrived, we’d thought he’d returned, but this man was obviously not our XO.”

Harding, CMO

She was glad Harding stepped up. She was still catching her breath as he finished. She stood up when the doc scanned the imitator. “I’m sorry, Sir. Your untimely arrival left us scrambling a bit. We weren’t sure which ‘side’ you were on. We couldn’t tip our hand before we could verify your DNA. And we couldn’t risk you falling into their hands if we didn’t bring you straight here.”

She leaned back on the nearby table and sighed. “So as it stands… our CO is missing, presumed captured, at best. The XO is with a few others trying to reach the central banks to protect them and see how much damage has been done. We have a duplicate bridge under our control but no idea how many of the mirror verse members are still on the ship.” The Security Chief shook her head. “In the meantime, the ship think’s I’m the CO, so we are trying to trick the computer into allowing me command. But every once in a while I run into a snag.” Standing up as her demeanor steadied, she looked straight at the new CO. “With all due respect, Sir. I need you to remain on the bridge so you aren’t compromised. And maybe you can help me figure out how we can get in front of this thing. Floor by floor, room by room is all that comes to mind for me.” She laughed slightly, but it was a bit nervous. She knew as a Security Officer, what her job was. But she hadn’t been prepared to be hobbled by the additional job of CO.

Pretha
Fauxdinson (slayer?) Stunner?

Simultaneously, Harding’s and Oberon’s PADD’s beeped with an incoming message. First off was the code they had all agreed on. “The following is a list of crew members that have been compromised and have duplicates on board. Those names in red are original crew members that have been eliminated and successfully replaced. Do not hesitate to apprehend those names in read.”

Knowing Harding and Pretha were still on the bridge he sent another note “Be careful. My double is in the Ready Room.”

Odinson (XO)

Hamilcar lowered his phaser then handed it back to the NE next to him. He nodded,

“I have no intention of leaving the bridge Lt.” He stated, “You and I can direct things from here. First, let’s make sure this guy here doesn’t get away.” He stated simply, nodding to the Odinson imposter laying on the bridge.
