Simultaneously, Harding’s and Oberon’s PADD’s beeped with an incoming message. First off was the code they had all agreed on. “The following is a list of crew members that have been compromised and have duplicates on board. Those names in red are original crew members that have been eliminated and successfully replaced. Do not hesitate to apprehend those names in read.”

Knowing Harding and Pretha were still on the bridge he sent another note “Be careful. My double is in the Ready Room.”

Odinson (XO)

Harding laughed quietly to himself. Good for Odinson for figuring it out, even if he was a bit late.

Hamilcar lowered his phaser then handed it back to the NE next to him. He nodded,

“I have no intention of leaving the bridge Lt.” He stated, “You and I can direct things from here. First, let’s make sure this guy here doesn’t get away.” He stated simply, nodding to the Odinson imposter laying on the bridge.

“He’s stable enough for me to deliver a mild sedative. Combined with the stun of the phaser and he’ll be out. Unless you’d rather I brought him around for questioning.”

Pretha shook her head. “No, I don’t think we need him conscious as at all right now. Go ahead and give the sedative.” She didn’t like the idea of knocking him out completely, but it was the only way ‘to be sure’.

Using a stimulant to revive a patient for questioning wasn’t always the most ethical decision in Harding’s profession, but he knew the harm would be minimal and their were more pressing matters.

Pretha glanced at the message and smiled. “Good… We have a list to start with. Doc… Suggestions how to separate duplicates?” She typeda quick response back to the XO before seeing her padd back on the table. Detained duplicate… Lousy kisser… She knew it would leave them something to laugh about later.

Turning back to the incoming CO, she smiled. “Well… I have an idea to see if I truly control the ship…” She moved to a console, typed in her emergency code then winked to the others and spoke out loud, “Computer command transfer to new commanding officer. Authorization code Oberon Papa Delta.” She then nodded to Halmicar to give his voice authorization. If it worked, a real commanding officer would be back in charge of the ship.

If not… Well she’d figure out something else.

(Just Pretha)

=^=Computer, this is Captain Hamilcar Jasar, under Star Fleet order 6109 by Fleet Captain Branch, I assume command of the Olympic as of this date and time. Authorization code Ashur One One seven Zulu Beta=^= Hamilcar stood steady, awaiting to hear if the ship accepted the change of command.

The computer seemed to take an unusually long time to respond to Jasar’s request. When finally, the voice did respond, it was in a haltingly manner, sounding almost as if it was unsure HOW to respond.

“Jasar. . .Hamlicar. . .Captain. . . . .access gran----denied. Access code confi----not recognized. Jasar, Captain. . . . . .no record in Terran Empire database found. . . . closest match. . . . .Jasar, Hamlicar. . . .Lt. , junior grade, currently serving. . . . as security officer. . . . aboard ISS Gus Grissom. . . . USS Gus Grissom. . . . (SQWAAAAAARRRRKKK). . . “

The computer let loose with a loud screech, as it appeared its’ circuits were frying.

Suddenly, the red alert klaxons sounded throughout the ship. “Attention, ship’s self-destruct sequence has been activated. Repeat, self destruct has been activated. Personnel should make their way to escape pods in an orderly manner.”

A moment later, a frantic call came from the NE manning the Bridge. =^’Cmdr. Odison!!, the computer just launched all the life boats!!! Sir, we’re screwed!!!=^=

TEMP GM Terry

=^= Sural to Bridge. Status please. We are nearly at the computer core. Are any escape pods available in our location? =^=

The blare of the klaxons would have made Collin jump in a normal situation. After what they’d just been through, his reaction was more muted. He delivered the sedative to the fake Odinson, knowing a strong stimulant could still bring him around if needed. He doubted questioning the man would solve their immediate problem. The timeframe was far too short to manipulate him away from his predetermined mission.

He looked at the two senior officers left with him on the Bridge. The Security Chief and the Captain. No dig at Pretha, but neither her nor Collin’s own professions necessitated advanced computing skills. The Captain’s background was more of a mystery. Still Collin rose and hurried to the science station.

“Can we get around the blocks, take control of the computer?”

Harding, CMO

Hamilcar took a gamble the this Sural was a good guy. =^=Negative Sural, The computer isn’t responding to orders. It thinks its in the mirror universe. Can you override from there?=^=

-CO

=^= We are attempting to. =^= Came a simple reply; sounds of movement being heard in the background of steps moving quickly and the breathing of another nearby to him. Then =^=Who is this? =^=
- Sural, CE

Considering their situation Collin highly doubted Sural would take their new Captain’s own word as to his identity. The Chief Medical Officer interjected.

=/\=Sural, this is Harding. You’re speaking with Captain Jasar. It’s a long story, but the pertinent point is he’s been cleared.=/\=

Harding, CMO

=^= Acknowledged Doctor. We are at the Computer Core now. =^= Came the brief reply.
