Deeg had a moment of panic at the alert. It wasn’t that he knew anything, but his mind liked to play tricks on him. Doubling down on focusing he looked at the details of the scans. “We have t-two warp trails. One is the Talok here. The other is in the adjoining system but it disappears.” He focused in more on that comparing it to known technology in the systems. “They’ve upgraded, Captain. Very quick transition in engaging cloak. Attempting to compare signatures of the trail to see whether we can approximate the type of ship involved.” He knew that was a longshot to get anything really precise, but narrowing it to a possible class would give them an idea. Granted they were a Mythology and a monster ship. That would hopefully give a Romulan ship pause on what they might do.
- Deeg, Eng

Deeg would not be able to determine the class of ship. He could decipher that it was likely on the smaller side. By what he could determine, it would seem to have a philosophy of quality over quantity. The only indications this ship was ever there pointed to it being a small, highly advanced craft.

“Understood, keep a full scan and be ready to raise shields.” Jasar replied as he transferred the data to his chair and began reading.

-CO

He went back to his scans. It was tricky but then he was tricky Or at least his past was. Another life. A lifetime ago. This was more down his alley; more than an aging engineering ensign anyway. Fine tuning as much as he could he conclude that they were good. And they were advanced. Frowning to himself he wondered why it was that those like the Romulans were so clever and the Federation seemingly a step or more behind. Yes the Mythology was an amazing piece of engineering. But the Romulan ship that he could see had ‘style’. They made tech look good. “It looks like a smaller craft, Captain. All the bells and whistles we’d expect to see from the Romulans.” But where? Where had they built this? Romulus was gone and with it central command. This would take a significant R&D and a good shipyard to boot.
- Deeg, Eng

His most in depth scans would continue to show no matching model in the Federation database. Perhaps the Romulans downstairs would know something about the ship and where it came from.

Crew rosters, past cargo manifests, and crew logs from the Romulan vessel started to come into the Olympic’s computers along with the ship’s current status. 4 remaining hours of power before she just turned off.

OOC: Apologies .. my mind translated my Genesis NE to here … astral projection maybe? Ugh .. Back to Reno …
IC:

NE Reno Crawford had taken the engineering station after ensuring the generator was transported out and the away team well in hand. He had been settled in engineering with his stetson on - at the behest of the other engineers. As senior ensign on at that time, and when those who were at the consoles had their backs to everyone, the crew had suggested his hat. And so, without thinking, he had come to the bridge with his hat on. Which, he was totally unaware of as he looked at the status.

“I’m getting computer uplink from the Romulan ship, Captain. The generator has bought them four hours of power. All major systems are offline. They do have life support now and main computers.” He rapped a knuckle on the console. “And a no go on any match of Romulan ship that cloaked. Computer likelihood of a new design. Our Romulan friends might have a better idea of what was following them.”
- Reno, NE Eng

“I’ll make sure to ask their Captain when I see him.” Hamilcar stated simply, still looking down at the readouts. “Until we figure out what’s going on, let’s assume that they are watching us.”

-CO

D’vash hit his comm badge and connected to the the Olympic. “Captain, Sural has got the Talok stabilized with no danger of exploding. Security has searched as well–they didn’t find any booby traps or stragglers left behind. I’d say she’s safe to bring into the Olympic’s hangar bay.=^=

Odinson (XO)

=^=Understood Commander, You may bring the ship aboard at your discretion.=^=

Still photo images began to be sent over from the freighter. Sural was capturing some images of the Romulan vessel that the freighter’s sensors had picked up, if briefly. Deeg noted the transmission with a beep on his console. “Captain, I’m getting images from the freighter logs of the Romulan vessel that was attacking the freighter. Putting them on screen.” With a quick indexing of the images Deeg put them up on the screen in the order that they had appeared.
- Deeg, Eng NE

To anyone familiar with Romulan ships at all, this was an extremely compact, more efficient version of the Valdore type. Anyone unfamiliar with Romulan technology wouldn’t need much photographic and videographic evidence to see that this was a warbird built for Intelligence. Fast, light, and deadly when necessary. She was about half the size of the Olympic. It would take the computer roughly five minutes to get a decent rendering and designate this ship a Valdore type (retrofit). Details on what the ship was truly capable of were still in the Talok’s logs.

-Matrix

Reno couldn’t help but let out a whistle as the computer put together more composite images from their own knowledge base and the images from the Romulan vessel’s logs. Half the size of a Myth is still pretty big, Reno thought. Compact it was. But then again, wasn’t. “Bringing up the logs from the Romulan ship. Will add to this any weapons information we can get.” He adjusted the hat on his head and leaned in. Reno found the shadow from it helped give better contrast to the LCARS display.

Jasar nodded at the images. “Thank you Ensign. A ship like that we should assume that they are near by, but let’s not act like we suspect that.” He leaned back in his chair, thinking. ” I get the feeling that the first move of this chess game has just begun. Continue monitoring, and have the Captain of the freighter brought to my ready room when he is able.” Jasar ordered, standing up.

“You have the bridge Ensign.” He turned and walked into his ready room.

Reno blinked. Did he just say what he thought he said? That was a first for Reno and he barely repressed taking his hat and whooping out a ‘yee haw!’. Instead he replied in a thick Texan drawl, “Aye, Captain.” He was loathe to leave his station until he received the data from the weapons, but set the computer on auto formulation and then turned. What was that other thing? Oh right. The Captain.

=^= Reno to Sathut =^= He hoped he was still with the Rommies. =^= The Capt’n would like to see the Romulan Captain of the freighter when y’all can. =^=
NE Reno Crawford

Reno watched as the Romulan captain passed through. Looked like a hobo Vulcan on holiday to him. Just as he turned back there was a beep from his console. “Just when I was gettin comfortable in the chair here,” he said to himself and a wink to the ensign at the nav station. Slipping out of the seat he went to see what was what.

Reval was escorted by a security NE to the Captain’s ready room. Reno would likely have his attention drawn back to the ops station however. An alert came up. Several chemicals had been replicated in the Cargo Bay. Samples of oxygen, carbon, and chlorine. The last had triggered the alert.

-Matrix

“Well I’ll be hornswaggled,” he said as he read what had been replicated. He drew up a list of everything that had been commanded from there in the past half hour. As that was scrolling down the list, which included a great deal of pasta, he saved it to a file. “Must be from the Italian quarter of the Rommie empire,” he muttered.

=^= Reno to Security. Y’all got any eyes on in the Cargo Bay? I’m gettin some odd replications happenin there. Apart from a pasta fetish there is some other elements including chlorine. See the file attached on the list of items. =^= Now those things could be benign, but like with a squeaky lift it never hurt to check it out.
- Reno, Eng NE
