Hearing the weakness and stress in the voice coming in from the comm, D’vash opend a link to sickbay. =^=Sickbay, this is the XO. We need an emergency team in the shuttlebay. We’re bringing in a small vessel with one human life sign on board and he sounds pretty weak.”

=/\=Yes sir.=/\=

Turning in the captain’s direction, he said, “I’m dispatching a security to the bay as well, Captain.”

Odinson (XO)

“Proceed, and join Lt Sural to see to our guest.” Hamilcar stated returning to his chair. “Scan the anomaly, lets see what we can find out about it.”

-CO

“Aye, sir,” the XO replied.

Pretha had been in her office going over schedules when the shift of the ship made her frown. Tapping her comm, she hailed the bridge, =^= Oberon to bridge… what just happened?=^=

She was already pulling her phaser from her desk drawer and heading for the door as she awaited an answer. “I doubt we ran over something,” she half murmured under her breath in amusement.

Pretha Oberon
CoS

=^=We just pulled a small vessel into the shuttlebay with a weakened human life sign, Lt. That’s we know right now, but it would be prudent to dispatch a security down there, at least until we have ascertained the situation.=^=

After cutting the comm, he joined Sural and Reno in the turbolift.

Odinson (XO)

“Yes, sir,” Sural replied, heading for the lift. As he entered, he made a smooth turn and spoke out, “Shuttlebay,” before pondering. =^= Sural to Reno. Please meet me in the Shuttlebay with an engineering tricorder. Have a cutting crew on call. We are taking on a shuttle that may require work to gain entry to. =^=

Reno, feet up and cowboy hat on as he scanned the deck by deck status indicators, righted himself and replied, =^= On my way =^= then .. “Some action beyond stem bolts and status requests,” he said to the engineering tech beside him. “I left off on Deck 9. Have at it.”
- Sural and Reno

OOC: I’ll start a shuttlebay thread.

-Matrix

Hamiclar looked down at his command chair display. “What are the results of the scan?” he asked from his command chair.

-CO

What they were facing was a very small primordial black hole. By size, it was only large enough to contain the pod they had just pulled in with a metre of spare room in any direction. What was strange was that its’ gravitational influence was small.

-Matrix

“A small black hole, a meter larger than the shuttle.” Erikk read out the scans as they came through, his eyebrows furrowed and he ran the scans again. The furrowed further when the scans came back with the same results. “With a low gravitational pull,” he added eventually.

Lt. (j.g.) Erikk Mendez, CSO

“So how did a ship get stuck in a small black hole with low gravitational pull?” Hamilcar ask curiously.

-CO

Suddenly, and without provocation or prompt, the lights flickered and went out. The viewscreen emitted a red light. As quickly as this phenomenon had come, it left. The lights and viewscreen returned to normal.

-Matrix

Hamilcar stood up and walked to the center of the bridge. “Report, what was that?” He asked, turning to look at Mendez.

-CO

Mendez would find no trace of any events or faults in the lights or bridge.

-Matrix

Mendez shrugged, and shook his head. He had no idea, and scanners weren’t giving him any answers.

Hamilcar looked at the displays at the station near him. “What do the external sensors say?”

-CO

External sensors showed that the black hole’s gravitational pull was expanding.

-Matrix

“Back us off to a safe distance.” He turned to the NE at the science station. “What is causing the expansion?” He asked with concern. Black holes don’t just randomly expand.

-CO

OOC: Apologies, I’ve been caught up with work.

IC: “Callobrating that data now,” Mendez said. Ordinarily black holes expanded slowly, over time through the absorbtion of matter. But this worm hole had just had matter (the vessal) removed from within. Based of that theory it shouldn’t be expanding at all. He set the scanners to scan the black hole again, perhaps there was something inside the black hole that was causing it to fluctuate irregularly.

Lt. (j.g.) Mendez

The matter comprising the central area of the black hole seemed to be condensing, causing the area of influence to expand.

-Matrix

Hamilcar looked at the data. “Helm, back us off, 1/4 quarter impluse, be prepared to jump to warp.” He stood back up and walked over to the science station. “LT?”

-CO

=^=Odinson to Bridge. Captain, we have a survivor extracted from the pod. He is Lt. Jacob Hanlon from the USS Neptune. Says he was on the Neptune in . . . .2264, sir.=^=

Odinson (XO)

Hamilcar looked at Mendez, a look of concern on his face. “Are you picking up any time distortions?” He asked the CSO before tapping his combadge

=^=Understood, is he well enough to come to the bridge? =^= He replied to Odinson

-CO

Helm reverse was effective, taking them out of the still growing influence of the black hole. Continuous adjustments would be necessary to remain beyond the event horizon. No temporal distortions or manipulations were detectable. By all evidence, if this man was from the time he claimed, he got to the Olympic through linear time.

-Matrix

Erikk glanced up from his scans and shook his head. “No detectable temporal distortions,” he reported, “But it is possible that the black hole could have held him out of time. Provided out passenger was in a chroniogenic chamber or of the sorts,”

Lt. (j.g) Mendez, CSO

“Why would they use a black hole to accomplish that?” Hamilcar asked curiously.

-CO

The XO’s voice came over the comm. =^=Captain, I’m taking our guest to sickbay for a more thorough check-up. It would be a good idea if you and Counselor Sathut could join us.=^=

Odinson (XO)

A proximity alert came to the CSO’s station. A very small piece of debris had drifted into the Olympic’s immediate area. One faint biosign was aboard.

-Matrix

=^=Stand by Commander=^= Hamilcar quickly replied, he turned to look at the science station, hearing the alert. “Where did they come from?” he asked Mendez.

-CO

Poke for Mendez..
