After establishing a ‘clean’ environment for the stasis pod in Isolation Room 1, Medtech Sandoval resumed her duties. After a few minutes she was walking by the ‘clean’ room on her way to the supply locker. Not thinking much about it, she briefly glanced into the room. What she saw stopped her in her tracks…The main status panel for the stasis pod was flashing red indicating a problem within the pod.The sight triggered in her memory an experience she had serving aboard the USS Tecumseh. The Tecumseh had discovered a derelict ship that was broadcasting a low range distress call. The Away Team had found several of the ships’ crew in stasis pods, and it was decided to beam them back to the ship. The Medical and Engineering staff worked to activate the pods to release the occupants. Due to inexperience with that design of equipment, two of the pods had been activated prematurely. Sandoval was the first Medic to assist once it was determined that the opening sequence could not be halted. The occupant was not properly ready to be released, and the severity of it’s injuries caused it to die almost upon exposure to the Tecumseh’s cargo bay.
The stasis pod in Isolation was showing the same warnings as she had remembered seeing before on it’s status panel. The Pod was starting to open.
Maneet spun on her heel to call for the CMO. But he was with several members of the senior staff, and they were in intense conversation with a patient not from the Olympic. Her eyes scanned the room quickly knowing time was of the essence. Her eyes focused on the back of her shift lead, Doctor Peterson.
“Doctor Peterson,” she called out,”Can you assist me in Isolation Room 1. Stat!”

Doctor Peterson called out; “On my way!” And in a few short moments he was standing there next to her with his medical bag.

Sandoval pointed to the status board attached op the stasis chamber It’s red warning lights flashing.. “There seems to be a malfunction. The pod appears to have been tampered with. It is unlocked and in it’s opening cycle. has been activated.”
“I have seen this once happen once before, and it was lethal to the occupant.”
As both medical team members looked on, they saw the lid locks disengaged, and the lid to the stasis pod began a slow raise.Medtech Maneet Sandoval
The occupant of the stasis pod stirred away as the lid opened. A few moments later, a hand reached out and gripped the side of the pod.
It wasn’t much longer before the male Terran inside pulled himself up to a sitting position.Warwick.
