=^=LT Sural, The coordinates provided show an habitable desert plant. Although it’s not a place I would consider a vacation spot. What planet is this?=^= Came the Captains voice over the comm.

-CO

=^= These are the coordinates that the … entity … provided as our intended destination, Sir. =^= Sural replied. A desert world was not ‘that’ bad, and Sural raised a brow in thought around that and wondered how close to Vulcan it was. Still, not for the first time, Sural wondered whether the intended destination was for the entity or for them.
- Sural

=^=Understood, We will check it out, Hamilcar out.=^=

Pretha’s hand went to her phaser as the ‘being’ spoke again then Hanlon was himself once more. The black color of his eyes had receded and he looked normal. Looking to D’Vash, she nodded once. “We need to go. But we need to be careful.” She didn’t realize her mind was in the same place Sural’s was. “I don’t want to become the new inhabitants of the planet like you all described.”

The idea that the Olympic could be hijacked by the entities and the crewman stranded, scared the hell out of her. The thought sent a shiver down her spine.

The XO’s eyebrow went up in a Vulcan-like manner. The entity spoke directly to him and addressed him by name. Strange, he thought, if the entity could jump from on body to another, why didn’t it take control of him and share the . . .threat? directly?

He didn’t like threats, especially at the expense of his crew. Before he could respond to the entity, Hanlon was back.

“Alright Lieutenant, I’ve been patient with you until now, but now this ship and crew has been threatened. You need to start talking., NOW. Who’s here? Who was supposed to be dead?”

Odinson (XO)

“I don’t know who he is. He… it… I don’t know. All I know is that there was a voice. And it spoke through the crew. I thought he died before I jettisoned from the Neptune. Some sort of sonic… something.” Hanlon looked genuinely worried and willing to help. If he could.

Pretha had an idea. She took off her phaser and handed it towards D’Vash. “Trust me…” she said softly. If he didn’t take it, she’d set it on a nearby surface out of Hanlon’s reach.

D’vash reached out and took the phaser with a concerned look on his face.

She looked at D’Vash a moment longer, her look one that he knew well enough was for him. Breaking the gaze, she moved closer to Hanlon and rested a hand on his arm. “Can you control the entity at all? Get it to answer you when you want it? Or communicate with it in any way?” She glanced at the XO once more as she finished. “I want it to come into me.” She looked back at Hanlon. “I want it to stay in me long enough so we can find out what needs to be done and why.”

The XO stepped forward. “Oh, no. This isn’t going to happen. I don’t want this entity taking control of you!” His immediate concern was for Pretha, but he had to reel those concerns back in ti keep things professional. He corrected himself. “It is NOT a good idea to offer yourself up as the chief of security.”

She shook her head and smiled softly. “We don’t mean it, or his kind any harm. But we need their help to understand what is happening.” She didn’t know if it would work, but she had to try. Body jumping and one sentence demands weren’t going to convince anyone that they needed to go to a desolate planet in the middle of deep space. People on this ship had to be her first priority.

“I- I… maybe. I’ll do my best.”

Sural’s brow rose, the closest to an expression of surprise that he might muster. The entity had given them instructions - brief with little elaboration. It was, to him, an example of brevity, though it was short on background. “How did the Neptune perish?” he asked Hanlon. “How did the voice come to be on your ship?” The Vulcan was working out probabilities based on what he knew and what he could surmise through logical extrapolation. Unfortunately Starfleet did not have a very positive track record with respect to disembodied entities. It certainly was not a Q; Q could not have maintained its ‘cover’ that long. It was far too capricious to maintain silence this long.
- Sural

“This thing has found a way to communicate with us. it apparently can control any one of us when it wants to. It’s purposely keeping things from us that it doesn’t want us to know.”

D’vash looked to the ceiling of Sickbay to address the entity. “Isn’t that right? Tell us your reasoning for going to this planet. We’d be much more inclined to offer assistance than to be threatened. We’re willing to cooperate with you, but we need. . .to . . trust . . you.”

A moment later, the computer showed that the ship had gone to yellow alert.

-CO

“What’s happening? He hasn’t touched anyone else has he?”

-Matrix

The XO hit his comm badge. =^=Bridge, report.=^=

Odinson (XO)

=^=Commander, We are moving to investigate the planet. I have moved the ship to Yellow alert as a precaution.=^= The Captain replied.

=^=Acknowledged, Captain.=^=, the XO replied

Pretha looked at D’Vash. She had started to reach for her phaser and thought better of it. “D’Vash… lock out my security codes.” Her voice was on edge. She looked around the room. “Please… if you are here. Let me talk for you.” She stepped away from the others and walked towards the stasis field where the cryopod was held. “Damn it! You want our help?” Her last sentence was almost a growl rather than a scream. She was getting frustrated, but something had to be done.

Sural did not believe that that kind of challenge would attract the entity. If it did reply it would be, in his estimation, only a 31% chance due to the call. There was little reason for it to reply if they were on their way to the planet in question. Like a child, or a strategist, being given what it wanted would cause it to be quiet whether due to being made happy or by considering its next action. He knew one thing might coax it to the forefront and that would be performing a mind meld on Hanson to see what forgotten things lurked there and any residual traces of this entity. Perhaps when this failed he would suggest it, though Sural did hope instead that Hanson would recall more and could share it. As he observed Pretha the Vulcan noted that at times she reminded him of his sister.

-CO

“Lt. Oberon, you are not LETTING this entity take over your body. That’s an order. It seems perfectly fine communicating through Hanlon.”

D’vash’s concern was for the safety of the ship, but he was concerned for her just as much. Pretha was his lover, but she was also the ship’s chief of security and used that for his rationale for ordering her not to do this. “We have other options.”

His gaze shifted to Sural, then back to Hanlon. “Lt., Mr. Sural may have a way of helping you remember by performing a mind meld.” He was aware of how Vulcan’s felt about using the trick, but desperate times called for desperate measures.

“Sural, that’s not an order. The choice is yours and I’ll stand by your decision either way. . . “

Odinson (XO)
