Acadia nodded. “Ahhh… then the communications system would be best. The link in to the array would probably help the most.” She moved to the console near the center of the bay and smiled. “Here you are. Let me see it…” She put her hand out for it. “I can get it interfaced in just a moment.” She moved the piece to the side and connected the line that would link it to the system. It took a moment to find the right sync up program, but as she smiled back at the man, she hoped it would work. Anything requiring a more sophisticated hook up would take time. “Now we see if they can speak to one another without creating a soufflé in the replicator.” She laughed but it was a nervous laugh.

OOC: and then like one of those little made up devils and angels who stand on your shoulder and prompt you to do something, one looking just like Petrov stood on hers and whispered “don’t trust him.”

Sidney

OOC: LOL!! Oh Petrov, you are so not trusting, and you’re the one that shouldn’t be trusted!!!

(That’s why isolating the system winks so it ‘can’t’ go anywhere else… hehehe)

Lt. Mado tried to access the scanning results of the specialized scans. It came back empty. “It appears you’ve isolated the connection too much, Lieutenant.”

GM

Acadia frowned. Obviously he needed more access than she was willing to outright give. “Hold on a moment, I need to get permission to open the system wider.” She was unsure why, but no one had bothered to send a missive or a comm that this man was coming. And she didn’t like the idea that he was asking for access to the system on more than this narrow band. She tapped her comm badge and reached out to the Captain. =^= Engineering to Captain, I have a,” she glanced at him to be sure he had his name right, “Lieutenant Andreas Mado here with a piece of tech he needs to link to the systems. May I ask what systems we are looking to interface with? It seems communications isn’t a broad enough spectrum.=^= She hoped her message would get thru both her uncertainty as well as what she had given up so far.

((Ummmm can’t find a place to cross post to CO… help?))

OOC: No prob. I’ll just reply here.

IC: =^=You’re concern is noted, Lt. Mr. Mado needs to modify de sensors to recognize certain energy signatures dat are impotant to our mis-SHON.=^=

Boudreaux (CO)

“Are you satisfied, Lieutenant? I do apologize if I am inconveniencing you, but I must report to Sickbay soon after this,” replied Mado politely. There was a slight tone of annoyance, as if this was something he was not accustomed of doing things.

GM

OOC: Good Assistant CE. Remember Petrov 101. One needle prick doesn’t hurt so much but a million sure as heck does. Make everything hard on them so they don’t come a knocking on the engineering door often.

Sidney

Hearing the annoyance in his voice as she got her orders, she turned to him and smiled sweetly. “No, not really. But like you, I follow orders.” She adjusted the allowances and gave the machine access to the computer system as the Captain ordered. “But to be fair, if someone snatched that thing from your hand and said ‘hang on a moment, I just wanna try something’, how trusting would you be? It’s strange tech I am connecting to what amounts to my home. Forgive me if I err on the side of caution.” She waited one more moment to be sure it was fully interfaced, then nodded. “There. You should have access to everything not locked by Command Security measures.”

Acadia
Eng

“None taken, Lieutenant. Well, there are security protocols in this device, so even if they were to try to use it, they wouldn’t be able to unless they were authorized.”

GM

Once the device was completely interfaced, Acadia stepped back to let the man access his strange device. “So what, exactly, are you looking for? Perhaps I can help.” She moved to the other side of the console and the monitor there. “Let’s see if we can’t get the Captain his information swiftly, shall we?” She smiled and nodded to him as a way to show there were no hard feelings on her end, just following protocols.

Acadia
Eng

“You wouldn’t believe me if I told you, Lieutenant,” replied Mado, “But we’re looking for a specific signature on a metaphysical level of the universe that has a special harmonic resonance frequency that appear in specific objects.”

Mado activated the scan. Weak signals showed three pings on the Asimov. “Seems like it is working. I have a strong feeling I am needed in Sickbay. Will you coordinate with the Captain on this data? He might ask you to scan Risa.”

GM

Acadia laughed. “So… a signature that’s theorhetical, that resonates on an assumed frequency, that’s in some object. Yeah, that narrows it down a lot. And I believe you, just would be helpful if I knew what objects. Perhaps I can help triangulate areas to concentrate on with at least that amount of information.” She believed him, because there wasn’t a reason not to, actually. It was the obtaining the information part that was still fuzzy. Something told her she wasn’t being told everything. Though as a mere engineer, she wasn’t surprised.

“I am afraid I’ve been ordered not to dive into specifics. The Captain and the First Officer have the authority to tell you details. Not sure about your boss.”

Waving her hand as she shook her head, Acadia smiled. “Go… I’ll see what I can find about your mysterious resonating objects.” She turned back to the console and started to look at the waves they would be looking for and the reading parameters to see if she couldn’t tighten them up a bit and get a better read.

Focusing on the scans on Risa, the sensors detected 5 objects with the matching frequency. 3 of them seems to be deep underground.

GM

Acadia frowned. “Five?!” She half whispered under her breath. The two on or near the surface were easy enough to locate and plot coordinates for to get to. The last three, underground, were another matter. She started scanning the area around the readings to see if they were in a cave system or submerged part of some building or site that people would be able to get to for investigation or extraction.

Acadia

1 was in an underground cave, two seemed to be under buildings, but sensors couldn’t get a clear reading… though it was strange that they were getting a reading at all. It could be a false positive, but the regular sensors seem to indicate a jamming field around the two locations.

GM

Acadia frowned and tapped the comm. =^=Captain, this is engineering. I have been scanning for the signatures you were looking for. I believe I have a lock on a few locations. Sending them to you now.=^= She set her console to relay the info to the Captain’s fingers wherever they happened to be. The sensors had detected five objects with the matching frequency. Three of them seems to be deep underground. One was in an underground cave, two seemed to be under buildings, but sensors couldn’t get a clear reading. The sensors seem to indicate a jamming field around the two locations.

=^=Merci, Lt. LeBlanc,=^= Remy replied.

Approximately 30 minutes later, Remy arrived in engineering sans uniform, dressed more for visiting Risa. He moved toward Acadia, he acknowledged her work. “Well done, Lt. Send de coordinates of de non-jammed items to Cmdr. Reilly’s team.”

He looked around and spotted Mado and beckoned the man over. “Mr. Mado, I assume your modifica-SHONS are working?”

“Mado, LeBlanc, get changed and prepare to investigate some of these oder artifacts Meet me in de transporter room.”

Hitting the comm panel, he called out =^Erin, Rhodes, Argona, Thienna, prepare to beam down to Risa. We’ve located some more artifacts and we are goine to collect dem.=^=.

Boudreaux (CO)

OOC: Uh, Mado is in sickbay right now… do you want to call him and find the flood in sickbay? :3

GM

Acadia nodded at the Captain’s praise at finding the signals. But frowned slightly as she discovered she was heading down to help look for the items with them. “Ummm… yes, Sir,” she nodded once more and made sure she had the file, map and program on both the old and a new tricorder. She left the old one connected to the ship and took the new one with her as she headed out to her quarters to change. She had never been to Risa before. But this wasn’t exactly how she imagined her first experience on the pleasure planet would go.
