Acadia frowned and tapped the comm. =^=Captain, this is engineering. I have been scanning for the signatures you were looking for. I believe I have a lock on a few locations. Sending them to you now.=^= She set her console to relay the info to the Captain’s fingers wherever they happened to be. The sensors had detected five objects with the matching frequency. Three of them seems to be deep underground. One was in an underground cave, two seemed to be under buildings, but sensors couldn’t get a clear reading. The sensors seem to indicate a jamming field around the two locations.
=^=Merci, Lt. LeBlanc,=^= Remy replied.
Approximately 30 minutes later, Remy arrived in engineering sans uniform, dressed more for visiting Risa. He moved toward Acadia, he acknowledged her work. “Well done, Lt. Send de coordinates of de non-jammed items to Cmdr. Reilly’s team.”
He looked around and spotted Mado and beckoned the man over. “Mr. Mado, I assume your modifica-SHONS are working?”
“Mado, LeBlanc, get changed and prepare to investigate some of these oder artifacts Meet me in de transporter room.”
Hitting the comm panel, he called out =^Erin, Rhodes, Argona, Thienna, prepare to beam down to Risa. We’ve located some more artifacts and we are goine to collect dem.=^=.
OOC: Uh, Mado is in sickbay right now… do you want to call him and find the flood in sickbay? :3
Acadia nodded at the Captain’s praise at finding the signals. But frowned slightly as she discovered she was heading down to help look for the items with them. “Ummm… yes, Sir,” she nodded once more and made sure she had the file, map and program on both the old and a new tricorder. She left the old one connected to the ship and took the new one with her as she headed out to her quarters to change. She had never been to Risa before. But this wasn’t exactly how she imagined her first experience on the pleasure planet would go.
Kadence’s voice came back over the comm, tinted with a bit of annoyance. =^=Yes, Sir… on my way.=^= She hated Risa with all her being. An entire planet dedicated to luxury wasn’t on her list of things to do today. Though Reilly had shown her a brighter, and more normal side, to Risa, she had the feeling, and hoped with all her might, they weren’t going there. Sliding on the bracelet Reilly had given her, and tapping a quick note she was leaving, she changed and headed for the transporter room.
=^=On my way.=^= Celador responded and headed towards the transporter room.
Remy looked at those gathered: Lts. Argona and LeBlanc., and Ens. Thienna. They were still waiting for Lt. Rhodes and Cmdr. Erin.
With the second away team assembled in the Transporter Room, they were ready to beam down to the nearest artifact location.
Nodding to the transporter operator, Remy said, “Energize.”
“Aye sir,” said the transporter chief.
The away team found themselves in what appeared to be an industrial area, surrounded by several buildings and distant familiar sounds of industrial replicators working to make items, presumably to be used at the resorts on Risa.
Mado whipped out small object, which enlarged into a large carpet bag. He began to pull out 5 specialized tricorders. They looked between a cross of a Steampunk and 24th century design. “These tricorders are unusual but are specially modified. They have been registered to you all, so if they are lost, they can’t be used other than the 8 people here. Unfortunately, these are all the tricorders I have left, you are all going have to share. I expect them returned to me after the away team mission, please do your best not loose them, they are incredibly difficult to make. They work like a standard tricorder, but they have unusual functionalities which allow them to detect the unusual signals we need to discover. Remember, these objects are highly classified, and highly prized after. Please do your best to handle them carefully, and contact me if you have found anything unusual.”
Mado also handed out a pair of purple gloves to each away team member, and a silver bag. “An object will react to the neutralizing silver bag once placed in. It will discharge some electricity when it reacts, and discharge nothing when it does not react.”
Acadia took one of the tricorders and fiddled with it a moment to get used to what she was reading. It still amazed her that this technology was only a few more years into her future. She wondered if Mado would help her understand it before he left. Now that she knew it wasn’t something amiss. “I understand.”
