With his ex-wife now back from her deep space assignment on the edge of the Beta Quadrant, Starfleet had deemed it necessary to reassign Bryson back to the USS Wolverine as its First Officer. Commander Erin materialized onto the transporter pad followed by his two small luggage bags. The returning XO knew that most of his belongings that were left behind were being stored in the cargo bay, so he traveled back lightly.
Bryson reached down and swooped up his bags with one hand and pressed his comm badge with the other, =^=Commander Erin to Boudreaux, I’ve just arrived if you have a moment. =^= The Commander called out, excited to see his old friend once again.
Erin no sooner finished his message when the transporter room doors swooshed open and Remy rushed in with arms opened wide.
“Bryson, mon frere, welcome ‘ome!!”
The returning XO barely had enough time to drop his bags before he was enveloped in a huge brotherly hug from his old friend.
Bryson laughed as he returned the hug. The two had a lot of history stemming back to the Saracen, and Bryson was elated when he heard he’d be reassigned back to the Wolverine. The XO bent down to pick up his bags, “I was part of the USS Atlantis search team along with my ex-wife.” Bryson said with an eye roll, “But we both got pulled, with her going back to Starbase 157 with Ryan, and well I’m here.”
As the two left the transporter room, Remy asked, “An’ you’ rela-SHON-ship wit’ you’ son? I know it was strained before, but I hope you two were able to reconnect and fin’ some common ground?”
“So and so,” Bryson said as the continued into the corridor, “He’s 15 so he doesn’t think he needs any parents at the moment.” The XO laughed. He remembered being that age and defying every word father told him, it comes with being a teenager. “Though I’m pretty sure he gave his mother grey hair while he was with her.” Commander Erin added, “It’ll be another seven years before he finds that it’s okay to take advice from his parents.”
Remy chuckled and replied, “Ah, to be young again an’ you knew all the mysteries of de universe.”
As the transporter beam began to coalesce in front of the CO and XO, Remy took up a defensive position in the corridor. People didn’t usually transport onto his ship unannounced unless it was an attack .
As the Lt beamed right in front of everyone she said to the XO “Hello commander I am Lt. Crosby your intelligence officer sir.” She said. “Am I interrupting something here sir?” She then asked as she stood there confused.
Relaxing slightly, Remy rose an eyebrow at the newcomer. His Cajun accent was strong when he spoke. “Befo’ you step any closer, Lt., I need to see some transfer papers. Mos’ people come aboard using de transporter room or shuttle bay. Beaming into de corridor is a good way to shorten you’ career.”
Hands the captain the transfer orders that she received. As she smiled. “Sir I am the new Intel officer that you have requested.” She said.
Bryson hadn’t reacted directly to the Lieutenant beaming in, except he took a step back as to not have the officer transported on top of him. The XO leaned in towards the Captain. “I think this might be our new Intel Officer,” Commander Erin said with a whisper, not wanting to embarrass the newcomer after her dramatic entrance. Bryson then turned his attention back to the new Lieutenant and waited for her to produce the transfer orders.
“Commander that is exactly true. I am the the new Intel Officer. I was assigned here after the USS Levithan.” She said to Commander Erin. “Sir. I do apologize if I had startled you both right here in the corridor. I know it was a sudden thing, but they beamed me here instead of the transporter room.” She explained.
Remy looked at the transfer papers and all appeared to be in order. He typed in his authorization code into the Padd, officially adding Crosby to the crew. He handed the PADD back to her and kept his handed extended. “Welcome to de USS Wolverine, Lt..”
“Let’s try not to make an entrance like dat again, s’il vous plaît. Especially when you’ captain has spent most of ‘is career as an Intel operative ‘imself. “
He looked directly at his new intel officer and grinned. “It could end up bad for everyone involved, no?”
“I do apologize.” As she takes the padd back. “I didn’t mean to appear right in front of you guys like that. Anyways, what did I interrupt?” She asked.
“Just a private conversation between the XO and Commanding Officer.” Bryson laughed, as he spotted a junior officer from security or engineering approaching them.
“Ah makes sense.” she said.
Celador walked around a corner. “Captain, Commander.” He nodded in greeting as he approached.
“Ensign, if you don’t mind?” Bryson asked as the officer approached the trio, “Would you be able to arrange a meeting between our Intel Officer, here, and our Security Chief?” Commander Erin thought it would be wise to get the Intel and Security Departments on the same page before command assigned the Wolverine a new mission.
“What do you mean by a meeting between the security chief and I?” She asked.
OCC: Still acting as an Ensign in this side sim.
IC: “Well, a meeting is when 2 more more people discuss topics of mutual interest.” Celador replied mildly, a hint of sarcasm in his voice as he looked at the young Intel officer slightly amused.
“Ah makes sense. Alright well then lead the way Ensign.” she said.
Celador nodded. “This way.” he said as he headed started down the corridor in the same direction he was heading prior.
“It has been a while since we have had an Intel officer, our new mission must be require it.” Celador stated as they walked.
“Maybe or maybe not Ensign. What’s the mission that we have Ensign? I’m just curious.” She said to the young ensign as they walker down the corridor.
OCC: Celador is in his mid 40’s.
IC: Cel look at the CIO, a curious expression on his face. He studied her for a moment.
“I figured you would know before I would.” He replied, turning to look at her. “Considering the nature of the ship, and the fact that we just picked up a new Intelligence officer, I would assumed some sort of scout or intelligence gathering mission. Some threat has most likely appeared requiring us to investigate that threat.”
“How do you feel about being assigned to such a ship?” He asked her as they approached the turbolift.
“Being assigned to this ship was something I’ve been wanting to be on here. Something new for a change. But it’s something I wanted to do. Thanks for asking Ensign” She said to him.
OCC: Opps, forgot that the security office is also on deck 4.
“Why this ship?” He asked as they passed a turbolift.
‘Another intelligence flunky.’ Squared said to Cel with some anger. ‘Going to get others killed. We should get rid of her before she ruins everything.’
‘Quiet, we don’t know anything about her.’ Cel shot back mentally. ‘And we will do nothing of the sort. I am not going back to prison because of you.’
If Crosby was paying attention, she would have sensed Squared’s presence at that moment, maybe even heard what he said, but she wouldn’t be able to place it, to her it would sound like a distant voice.
“My name is Celador Theinna, Security division. ” He turned to look at her once they approached the security office, he gave her a small, friendly smile.
“Well I was asked by starfleet to join and I accepted. Something for me to do then sitting around doing nothing. And also, I’ve noticed some one else another presense may I ask who or what it is? I’m not here to put anyone in jail at all. And just so you know Celador Theinna, I’m Amelia Crosby. Just thought I’d introduce myself back.” She said
OOC: Just bumping to keep it on the board :)
OOC: I’ve been sitting here awaiting for someone to do something.
OCC: Sorry, lost total track of time.
IC: Celador stopped briefly and looked at her, a blank expression on his face. All emotion seemed to vanish from him, like a void of emotion. The presence she felt was also gone, but before the emotion vanished, she may have sensed just a brief hint of fear.
“What do you mean?” he asked curiously. “We have no one in our detention cell right now to my knowledge.” He pressed the chime button for the COS’s office.
“Cel. I mean Lt. What I mean is that I’m not here to put anyone in jail or anything. I’m just the intelligence officer. Someone that doesn’t do anything like that to anyone. My big question is what do you mean?” She ask.
The office door slid open as NE Diaz walked out and Alita waved them in.
- Alita, MO/COS
“I don’t know what you are talking about.” Cel responded flatly, his face expressionless and his emotions hidden. He let NE Diaz go by them then stepped into the office.
“Commander, this is Lt Crosby, our new Intelligence officer.” Celador introduced the two women as he walked in and stepped aside.
Alita looked up and immediately got the sense that Cel was not pleased about something.
“Thank you Cel. Hello Lieutenant, welcome tot he Wolverine. Please have a seat.”
- Alita, MO/CoS
“Have a good day LT.” He nodded to Crosby, then to Alita then turned and left the office.
“Of course. I’ll be in my quarters.” She said to them.
Alita raised an eyebrow.
“I thought you came to speak to me. If you’re not going to take a seat to do so, please carry on.” Alita attempted to say cheerfully.
- Alita, MO/COS
“Oh that’s right.” She takes a seat as she walked in and smiles. “So uh what are we here to discuss?” She asked.
