Routine patrol had become a bit boring for the crew of the Wolverine. With that, it was the perfect time for Capt. Boudreaux to take a leave and head to Earth to straighten out some family business.

Remy knew he was leaving the ship in the capable hands of Bryson. The XO had CO experience and had served in that capacity before, so the captain had no worries. His XO was capable, his departments head were capable of doing their jobs, as well as the rest of the crew. He just hoped things weren’t going get too boring.

That was about to change.

A light blinked at the Operation/Communications console informing the officer manning said board that there was an incoming message from Starfleet Command.

CO Boudreaux (trying to be a GM)

OOC: Who is the aXO in IC then?

Mikel was at his station on the Bridge at the time.

Petrov CE

OOC: lmao I shall not break the wolverine. -Ray

OOC: Lol!! Sid, that will be up to who Erin wants to appoint in that role. I would assume that would either be Petrov or Claire. Sid, Petrov can take this call if he is the ranking officer currently on the bridge, just to get things moving a bit.

IC: The Comms officer spoke up. “Cmdr. Petrov, there is an incoming message from Starfleet Command. It’s Admiral Kyl Th’tenol of Starfleet Intelligence. The message is eyes only, sir”

T. T. B. A. GM (aGM)

“Send it to the Captain’s Ready Room.” He ordered and then went there.

“Aye, sir”, came the reply.

He had been aCO once for a brief time on that hell hole breaking apart planet but had never taken a priority call in the COs Ready Room. However there was no other place fitting enough to take such a call other than the Conference Room.

He sat behind the desk. Again an odd feeling but then again he was a command level officer now.

“Screen on.” He ordered as the view screen came to life with Admiral Kyl Th’tenol of Starfleet Intelligence face. His first command call and it was with an Admiral no less and that of one in SI. He was not sure how this would go.

=^=Admiral. Lt Cmd Petrov here. How may the Wolverine assist you.=^= He said with the hope he had opened up the call correctly. Knowing also the invariable where is the Captain and XO at reply would most likely come.

Petrov CE

The face on the screen appeared. Adm. Thy’tenol was an Andorian who had spent years in the field as an operative for Starfleet Intelligence. The years of covert ops showing on his blue face. At the moment, the look was confusion.

“Lt. Cmdr. Petrov? You’re Wolverine’s engineering chief, correct. I was hoping to speak with Capt. Boudreaux. Is he unavailable?”

“I’m sorry Admiral he is on a special assignment at this time and is not on the ship. The XO is in command and on the ship but not available.” Petrov said as it was all the truth.

The admiral harrumphed. “I was hoping he would be available for his covert ops experience. Anyway, Lt. Commander, I suppose you’ll do. A Federation scientist has gone missing. We have some information, but not a lot to go on at this point. I’m sending a data pack with all pertinent information. It needs CO or XO clearance to access the information. In simple terms, we need the Wolverine to find our scientist, get him out. More importantly, you can’t let his research fall into the wrong hands. If it does, it could be a very bad thing.”

Adm. Kyl Th-tenol (SI)

“Ok Admiral. I can rely the file to the XO but this seems straight forward. Search, Locate and Retrieve the scientist and his research. I imagine the data you are sending will assist us in ta starting point to find him?” He stated and asked.

Petrov may have been talking to an Admiral but he was still Petrov.

Petrov CE

“Yes, Mr. Petrov, it will. But be advised, I’m hoping the Wolverine can do this without a lot of attention. Please stress the fact to Cmdr. Erin. This is a classified operation and needs to remain that way as much as possible. We don’t need an intergalactic incident to have to smooth over.”

Adm. Th’tenol (SI)
