Neribi finished her typical patrol of the cargo bays, generally keeping busy with routine tasks until she was taken away with something mission related. She didn’t mind the tasks, it gave her an opportunity to familiarize herself with parts of the ship so she could respond quickly and effectively in a higher stress situation.It still did have the potential to be rather boring, but it was a necessary task.

The XO just happened to be wandering the decks, familiarising herself with the ship, when she rounded a corner and nearly collided with a security officer. She suppressed a startled yell. “Making your evening rounds Ensign?” She asked as she tried internally to compose herself.

“Yes ma’am,” Neribi replied, not entirely expecting to run into the new XO at this time, but sometimes life handed out little curveballs, “Is there anything I can help you with?”

“Please. Don’t call me ma’am. I hope I’m not that old yet. Sir, Commander, Lieutenant Commander, all perfectly acceptable. Update me on what’s been going on. I trust there haven’t been any incidents?”

“No Commander, nothing serious to report at all, everything appears to be in order from what I have seen thus far.” Neribi replied.
