Elsa’s voice came over the comms =^=Georgio to Sickbay, you have an emergency beam in coming. Phaser shot to the chest.=^=

MCO

OOC: This is retroactive in the sim… so this thread would have happened about a half an hour ago in game time.

A native Nelay, a bi-pedal lizard appearing mammal, had taken a disrupter shot to the chest. The disrupter was set on kill, but not disrupt and hadn’t vaporized him. It had done a fairly good job in disintegrating a large part of his chest, including the lungs, stomach, kidney and liver. If not for the semi-cauterizing action the Nelay, named Talkrit, would be dead before being beamed to the ship. He certainly will be dead in a few more minutes.

GM

Liam heard the call come over the speaker. as he tapped a button. =^= “Acknowledged. Will be ready!” =^= Liam said quickly as he moved from the lab and moved to the main part of sickbay as the transporter operator beamed the being into his sickbay as he materialized on the Biobed that showed barely signs of life on the main monitors As he did a brief scan with a tricorder. as he noted the missing chest plate and organs. As he made the being comfortable as he could as the prognosis was not a good one. with missing that much of the chest and organs he or it only had minutes.

Liam pressed a button =^= “Sickbay to Bridge There is nothing I can do for our patient There is too much damage?” =^= Liam said calmly to the bridge. =^= ” Sickbay Out!” =^=

OOC: You certainly can apply pain killers and extend his life.. perhaps several hours. But without replacement organs he’s a dead lizard looking mammal.

The bi-pedal lizard turned and faced the medical officer, “That’s what I told them.” He swung his head heavily about the room. “I’m not in Clearwater anymore.” The Nelay seemed to have a pretty good grasp on what was going on.

“At least we saved the gems.” He reached out with a leaden arm towards the CMO as his eyes focused in on him with difficulty. “Thank you…”

“I would have loved to fire one of your beam weapons.... ” He exhaled.

Occ: Making him comfortable does usually mean there was some type of pain neutralizer to help with discomfort. I am sorry I did not spell it completely out.
david aka Liam

OOC: Yes you did.

“So this is the boat that the Federation travels on? Much brighter than I would have expected.”

Talkrit

Liam was not sure what else to say to the dying lizard man. As he tried to make the being more comfortable. ( Liam’s mind was open to anything or impressions from the lizard man. )” Yes at times the lights can be pretty bright.” Liam said softly as he decreased the light by 20 % around the patient’s area. Liam knew that his patient was no long for this world but losing someone is still not an easy one. Friend or foe it’s all the same to him. there all living beings with intelligence and feelings and loved ones.
Liam stayed by the being since there was nothing more to do in sickbay and It might be comforting to have someone here when the being passes. As the vitals on the monitors started to show a decline in readings.

Talkrit started breathing deeper and more slowly. It wasn’t quite labored but anyone who could read the monitors could tell that he was fading, but his biology allowed him to survive longer than expected with so many systems damaged. In fact they probably could prolong his life by hours if they cleaned his blood artificially.

“No torches, so is this electric power? We aren’t big fans of electricity in Clearwater.”
GM

“Sadly no torches! We are using electricity to power lights. Sorry to hear that sometimes electricity can have a positive effect. I do admit that electricity can have bad effects too.” Liam sat there with Talkrit to keep him comfortable. More and more than the doctor thought about it he could replace the lungs, Kidney, and liver, but an artificial stomach?? But he would have to deal complete reconstruction of the chest cavity and muscle tissue and skin. or in is case scales. Liam was wondering if he should try now or not? He was uncertain where this creature was concerned.

OOC: He isn’t dead yet, you are welcome to try.

“Ir’s the water… ” He looked at the ceiling for a moment. “We spend about 20% of our time in water, haven’t found a consistent way to keep from electrocuting ourselves.” He started laughing which turned into a coughing spasm that then caused a little bloody sputum. “That hurt way too much.”

Talkrit

The doctor finally stood up. “Please relax and stay calm I am going to try and save you.” Liam said with a small smile. “If I can help it you will see your waters and your village again.” Liam said with conviction and strength. As he moved over to the office and made a quick log entry.

Talkrit chuckled as if the doctor was telling a mildly amusing joke. He was surprised he was still alive for the moment, but less being completely healed as this human said.

Doctors Medical Log Star Date Today:

I am taking on a unprecedented procedure and monumental task of repairing a injured officer that has lost most of his main chest cavity by distrupter blast point blank range. The patient still lives still and if there is a chance to keep the officer with us I must try. This may or may not give me issues in the future by Star Fleet and Star Fleet Medical not to mention possible others. But I am will to take that risk to save the life of this man.

End log.

As the doctor came out as he gave orders to his teams as they started scrambling around to get all together for this momentous task of repairing the man. “Nurse get the suite ready along with the list of replacement parts you donors from the man’s race or replicate the replacement organs lets hope we can find organic replacements but if we have to use mechanical replacements I understand.” Liam said quickly to the teams as the got all the equipment into the surgical suite. “Aye Sir!” came from the staff.

The staff Included a copy of the Genotronic Replicator and other machines to help with creating and making skin by replication or through the Genotronic Replicator. The doctor yelled from the other sterile field room.

“Also nurse please get organic samples of all components Skin samples and maybe computer scans of the organs from the medial archives or transporters to help with replication. Make sure there is plenty of blood on hand for the procedure.” Liam asked quickly almost forgetting. “Yes Doctor!” the Nurse replied again by herself the others continued there task.

The nurse responded, “Using the dna and the tissue, not denatured, can be used to grow the organs, but even under ideal circumstances would take several day… It would be easier to use donated tissue from some recently departed natives. If we can find any.”

“Make sure we have backups for the following tools. Alpha-Wave Inducer, Auto-Suture, Dermal Regenerator, Exoscaplel, Microtome, Plasma Infuser units, Protodynoplaster, Pulmonary Support Unit,
Tissue Migrators, Trilaser Connectors. At least two Hypos Sprays with (Anesthetize, Chloromide, Cordrazine, Dexalin, Inaprovaline,)” Yes Doctor! The nurse complied with the request. As he focused on making sure the room was free of germs and any other contaminants before proceeding to the main surgical suite as he saw his patient now resting peacefully.

Liam moved forward as he started looking over the area carefully to make sure there were no other repairs that were needed by his before surgery officially started. “make sure we have some clamps Nurse to keep blood loss to a minimum.” Liam asked for them. “Yes, Doctor!” As she retrieved them from the ship’s stores and returned and placed then in a sterile field and placed on the tray next to her as she arranged them quickly.

“Time started! 1400Hours” as the log noted the start of the procedure. As he started clamping off the catheterized areas and restored them to there original condition as he prepared them all for transplant and then he started to repair the nerve connections carefully one by one from one cluster to another till he was ready for the first replacement to be installed. “What do we have as a replacement nurse?” Liam asked.

He asked as he continued to do repairs to the other nerve clusters and bloodlines.

OCC: I am leaving time for the gm to add his items as well along with others if any

OOC: Some edits…

The nurse made a face, “We can replicate mechanical replacements for everything except the lungs, doctor. That we can use a blood gas infuser, but it would require monitoring and power, something that would force him to stay in sick-bay. That is until we can grow him some lungs.” The nurse looked at the patient. It was just as likely he would die of shock or blood loss.

There was a momentary pursing of lips as the nurse started handing the doctor clamp after clamp, replacing the organs would force the Doctor to remove the cauterized tissue and start hemorrhaging even as he was attempting the process of clamping dozens of blood vessels per organs and that were the ones that were clamp-able. “This is going to take hours… We really could use some actual whole blood.” The nurse glanced up at the monitors.

GM.

The doctor looked at her in shock. “you were told to have plenty of blood read for this task??” Liam asked in horror. “I believe we do need it now nurse.” Liam knew that this procedure would be a long one. “If you can handle this nurse? please send someone in that can do the job?? Better do it now??” Liam ordered quickly as he focused on getting the little and minor connections on and in place on the new units before going to the bigger arteries. He dealt with the left side then the right side with the kidneys, stomach and a temporary gas infuser in place to her with the blood toxins. While he waited for the Genotronic Replicator to start production of the lungs. then the skin and bones of the ribcage. (He hoped the nurse decided on what she was doing? This was beyond medical contempt. And would have to make and deal with her lack of doing what she was told before the procedure was started.)
