Captain Jones had ordered that the flight deck be cleared of all equipment, =/\= Captain to all crew on the USS. Chimera, All personnel report in Class A uniform to the flight deck at 0645 Hours, Standard Formation by department =/\= This meant that the crew would form with the Department head in front of their own section. This would be quite a sight. This would be the first time the Marines and Fleet personel would be standing side by side.

The Captain was eager to get the ship out of dock and moving forward. But the crew needed to hear exactly what was going to be going on. =/\= Captain Jones to Admiral M’Ressa, we will be holding a crew formation at 0700 Hours, I would like to invite you to attend if you would like Admiral. =/\=

CO

=^=Absolutely Captain. I would honored.=^= Came back the prompt response.

Admiral M’Ressa

Just before 0645 the Flight Deck doors opened and Admiral M’Ressa entered the bay in full dress uniform. She nodded acknowledgement to Jones as she approached him. Her eyes scanned the rows of crew, all lined up in their dress uniforms. Her eyes settled on the Science group and she gave a slight nod to Lieutenant Sheriye who stood at the head of the Science Personnel. The other Caitian showed her surprise in blinking but other then that not having time to show any other acknowledgement.

Admiral M’Ressa

Riloc walked on to the flight deck. His dress uniform perfectly pressed by the tailor on the space station. The Trill markings ran from his temples before disappearing under his collar. His had been cropped short earlier in the week. He strided onto the Flight deck and went over to the section marked for the security crew.

He stood to attention and watched the door way as other crew entered. Whenever a security member walked up to him to take a position he shook their hand and introduced himself.

CoS

Just before 0645 the doors to the flight deck opened, as Kate led her company in formation onto the flight deck. It was still a bit weird thinking of it as her company, when until just recently, she had been a squad XO. But times were changing, and they were going to have to keep up.

Right on time, her company fell into their position on the flight deck.

“Company, parade, REST!” As one A Company came to parade rest, and waited for the Captain to arrive.

At 0645 on the dot, Eleanor was walking in the flight deck, her dress uniform pressed and seemingly perfectly hugging her body. From all the branches of Starfleet, the SFMC was the only one that had kept some roots in the old Earth uniforms, and therefore the branch in which work uniforms and dress uniforms looked the most different from each other.

Most days Carnegie wore her flight suit, even when she didn’t need to. To her it was almost as a second skin. At the moment, the dark blue, red striped pants felt foreign to her body, and the black tunic even more.

Easily recognizable among the Fleet officers in the room, Carnegie made her way across the flight deck to where some of her fellow Marines were already gathered. She spotted Charlie and Smoke already there and she stood with them. She smiled at Siren as she walked by. Of course the gorgeous woman had chosen to wear a skirt. If Malcolm was the CAG now, she wondered if she had been the one taking the leadership of the Fighter Squadron.

Standing at attention with the rest of the crew, Eleanor waited for the remaining officers to arrive.

Major Malcolm Dawkins, the Chimera’s newly promoted CAG, walked onto the Flight Deck… his Flight Deck… and squared his beret on his head. Seeing where the Wing was forming up, Malcolm headed over to them. As he approached, Tracer snapped to attention and with a huge smile on his face, barked. “CAG ON DECK!” And with that, several hundred people in Marine Blues snapped to attention.

Dawkins smirked ever so slightly and then said firmly. “AS YOU WERE” And the Marines went back to milling about. Malcolm walked over to Siren, Tracer and Ellie, smiling. “Good morning kids.” He winked as Tracer rolled his eyes. Looking to Siren, Malcolm asked. “Everybody make it down?”

Dawkins, CAG

Ellie couldn’t help but smile as Malcolm walked to them. She was damn proud of him and she sure has hell wasn’t going to hide it.

“Yes, Sir.” Siren said with a smile as she turned to face Malcolm. “Everyone accounted for. Even the stragglers that overslept through their alarms.” She shot Tracer a knowing glare. “And Dawkins.” Nikki said turning back to Malcolm. “Congratulations, I couldn’t think of anyone better qualified to do the job.” Her smile was genuine, as she leaned closer to the new CAG and lowered her tone. “Although I’m pretty sure I know who had some fun last night.” She said with a wink.

However, chit chat time was over as the Chimera’s CO walked in the flight deck.

Captain Jones walked to the front near the center of the formation, He looked out at the sea of crew standing before him. There were 1900 crew members in total, every one of them standing in this formation. The Executive Officer and the Admiral stood close by, He tapped his comm badge to act as a amplification device to the crew. =/\= USS. Chimera… Aaattention! =/\= the sound of 1900 people moving to the position of attention was loud, for the most part everyone snapped to the position quickly.

=/\= At ease… =/\= Jones took a breath, surveying the crew in front of him. =/\= The Word Chimera is used to describe two different beings joined together, on earth the greek mythology described the word Chimera as fire breathing monster with a Lions head. Our mission is to act as the first line of defense against hostile aggression. The battalion of marines assigned to us are designed to be the hammer that we use to defeat any enemy of the Federation. The word Mjölnir was a human Norse word that means hammer of Thor, the Norse god associated with thunder. Mjölnir is depicted in Norse mythology as one of the most fearsome and powerful weapons in existence, capable of leveling mountains. =/\=

=/\= This ship is both the shield, hammer and fire breathing lion of the federation. Our mission will not be without danger, assignment to this ship very well may put your lifes at risk.=/\= Jones saw the young officers and crewman standing before him =/\= My goal is to bring every person home every time, but someone in this formation may not survive, it shall be our duty to honor those who fall… to fight to the Highest standard. Our own Morales will be our greatest weakness, but no matter what we shall maintain those standards. We will represent the United Federation Of Planets with the most dignity, Honor and Integrity that is found on any ship. As your Captain I must demand perfection from myself, and therfore from you. We are the only thing that may stand in the way of threats to your own family’s. =/\=

Jones turned around and produce a large shield, on the shield it had the hammer of Thor and a fire breathing dragon facing each other, with the background of the Federation logo. =/\= This shield will be posted on the bridge, a second in the mess hall. This symbol must represent the fortitude of the crew of this vessel. This symbol shall be the manifestation of all that is good and just within our great organization. We will be leaving dock shortly, with a mission already in mind. Hasten your step and prepare for the adventure and honor of a lifetime, because serving as your Captain is the greatest honor that I could imagine. =/\=

Jones turned to the Admiral, “Admiral, do you have anything you wish to address with the crew?

CO

Quite the rousing speech, Davon thought to himself. He couldn’t help but well with pride and a slight smile snuck onto his face. His chest puffed out.

Sam stood and looked out at the enormous gathering of personnel and smiled. She could see the newly appointed CAG at the head of the Wing and nodded at him, doubting he’d see her but thought she’d give it a shot. This was impressive but it also was different from previous ships on which she served and hoped it was the start of something very special.

Halloway, XO

More than anything, Eleanor was happy that they were getting ready to leave dock and get back out into the vast nothingness of space. Her stubbornness and confidence in her flying abilities not allowing her to see the possible dangers ahead. Regardless of that, she was happy of being a part of the Chimera’s crew.

Cpt. Carnegie, Recon Squadron CO

Kate nodded to herself at the Captains words. It was just another one of the changes, new ship, new command, new Captain.
