Lt jg Argeneau would receive the following message:

YOU HAVE AN UPCOMING APPOINTMENT WITH LT COMMANDER ARBOGIST FOR MENTAL EVAULATION SCHEDULED FOR 1030 TOMORROW

-Counselor Simon Arbogist

Heather looked to the message that came in and sent back a response, “Evaluation already passed,” She’d had used her mental abilities as an immortal on the last counselor to have them add to the records that she had already had her evaluations so she didn’t have to do one and that was a recent evaluation so she was planning on not showing up for the meeting with Simon Arbogist for any reason.

Heather Argeneau, CE

Shortly she received a reply.

“UNACCEPTABLE. AS PER STARFLEET PROTOCOL A NEWLY APPOINTED COUNSELOR HAS THE AUTHORITY TO PERFORM EVALUATIONS AS THEY SEE FIT. PLEASE COMPLY BEFORE I AM FORCED TO PULL RANK AND MAKE THIS MEETING AN ORDER”

-Councelor Simon Arbogist

Heather growled wishing the Counselor would back off. She wasn’t the typical officer nor did she like Counselors outside of her father. It’s not as if she was going to open up to the woman. Her only plan was to use this as a chance to get into the counselor’s head and make it so every time psych evals came up to skip her so she didn’t have to deal with this again. Heather didn’t have time for this, it was another inconvenience she didn’t need. Waiting for the lift to take her from her current deck to the counseling decks she just wanted to get this meeting out of the way, get in his mind make him believe they’d spent an hour talking over mundane stuff and clearing her for duty. Scowling Heather stepped off the lift and made her way reluctantly to the Counselor’s office, where she hit the chime letting this counselor know she was on the other side.

Bump…

last bump then going to let it slide

Sorry, I spoke to the captain and I’m taking about 6 weeks to recharge my batteries. There is a side sim that is to be occupying your time while i come up with new exciting adventures that will span months and years.

LUke

Sorry, Luke hope you get your batteries recharged.

Sara

The door opened, and standing in the doorway was the Counselor, his trademark black eyes clearly identifying him as a Betazoid. “Welcome,” He said, giving Heather a nod. “Please come in.” He stepped back slightly to allow her access to the office.

-Counselor Simon Arbogist

Her silvery-green eyes met his and widened as she realized too late he was a betazoid. ‘shit…’ she thought to herself strengthening the mental barriers that she always had up to keep out the thoughts of those she did not wish to hear unless she needed to see inside the minds of others. It was exhausting really but made more necessary when another telepath was present. To him, Heather said, “You ‘requested’ my presence?” She said with an arched brow as she moved into the room with him.

Heather Argeneau, CE

“Yes,” Simon said plainly. “It is customary for a new counselor to make appointments with the staff when they board a new ship. Especially as a department head, you can surely understand the need to have a meeting to at least build up some sort of rapport.”

He didn’t mention that he had sensed her mental barriers going up with urgency.

-Counselor Simon Arbogist

Heather looked to the betazoid, “I don’t, I am here to do a job, not make friends.” Heather said honestly as she had not one friend since she’d made the one human friend she’d ever had and, had to watch that friend die of old age. She wasn’t about to mention that though, “Besides if you read my file it will state that I had a psych eval before coming aboard.” Heather reminded.

Bump

Bump again

Bump to not lose

“I have not read your file,” Simon said. “It is my prerogative as a new appointment to seek out meetings and evaluations with any member of the crew as I deem necessary. Since we are all members of the senior staff, I feel it is important to get to know one another, and this evaluation will help us to understand each other. I already sense you are not comfortable with another telepath. Why is that?”

-Counselor Simon Arbogist

Heather watched him, hesitating as if she had no intention of telling him. Usually, that meant she would not be telling him anything. but She also knew that if she did not give him something he may never leave her alone. Besides, it was clear he could sense that she had her mental barriers up. “I come from a long line of extremely strong telepaths, nor do they have any qualms of using those abilities on anyone around them. To keep my thoughts my own I keep strong mental barriers up. It is something I’ve learned to do and being at telepath myself I also keep my mental barriers up on a daily basis because I can hear the thoughts around me.” She shrugged, Heather did not really wish to understand those she worked with. or get to know them. Humans die so easily and had such short lives that she would outlive everyone here. She just wanted to taste what life was without her family constantly trying to tell her what to do.

Heather wanted to experience life, protect life even as an engineer and to prove she could keep her secret without her Great Uncle constantly acting as if he had to clean up everyone’s mistakes. Besides her Great Uncle had barely agreed to let her remain on this ship when he did come last time. He had the build of a Viking warrior and had almost demanded that she return home until she stood up to him and said no.

Bump

“I too can hear thoughts and sense feelings of those around me,” Simon said. “For a Betazoid, my mental abilities were always far greater than the average for my people.” He paused. “Why is it that you are so apprehensive about other people?” He asked.

-Counselor Simon Arbogist

Heather didn’t look at him right away how to get him to stop asking those kinds of questions. Her mental barriers were strong enough to keep other hundred-year-old immortals out of her thoughts they were strong enough to keep one counselor Simon Arbogist out as well no matter how cute she thought he was. “I have no filter, I do not do well around others because I speak my mind without thought or care about how other’s see me or if they are offended by what I have to say or not,” Heather admitted to that much. She was not about to tell him her family history.

Heather Argeneau, CE

Simon narrowed his eyes at her. “So you are admitting that you recognize that you have an issue with being abrupt and unfiltered, and yet I sense no desire or willingness to change or adapt your actions. Do you not think that perhaps being a little bit more personable and more understanding might help you along with being part of a crew?”

-Counselor Simon Arbogist

Heather looked at Simon positive that he couldn’t sense any of her feelings or thoughts through her mental barrier. However, she did give off the impression that she did not wish to change who she was. How did she explain that her cold distant nature was to prevent herself from getting too attached to something she could outlive by several lifetimes? “Have you ever outlived someone?” She asked him softly. “Know someone who’s died?” Heather did not know what made her ask this question. Or why she wanted to explain herself to this man. Never before had Heather ever felt the need to explain why she acted the way she acted to anyone before. She should change the subject. Get away from subjects too close to the truth for the sake of both people sitting in this room. The only person she should ever explain to is her lifemate. the only person she would not need to have her mental barriers up around. Unfortunately, Betazoids were empathic and telepathic so even if she couldn’t read him (which she hadn’t tried,) there was no doubt in her mind he’d be able to read her unless there were some people Betazoids couldn’t read as well. She wasn’t sure never having been a betazoid. But she could not admit to this man that she was not El’Aurian as her bio states but in fact an Altered Atlantean from the mythical lost city of Atlantis. Though that wasn’t completely true. her ancestors could be from the lost city as proof doesn’t mean he has to know that they do not age. However, cannot just spring on someone that your not who you claim to be. could you?
