Davon was just filing away the last of his new crew assessments. Everyone seemed to be up to scratch, which was nothing more than he expected.

He looked up at the analogue clock he had put up on the wall and it was showing the time at 2242 which meant he had only 18 minutes left on his shift before he would hand over to the night crew. He sighed and pour the last of his coffee out of his cafetera in to his “#1 Security officer mug.” Taking a decent sip he smacked his lips together he leaned back in his chair.

The brig cameras showed the brig was totally empty. The marines and fly boys had behaved themselves during the party at Mellgelan, so Davon had the current shift running checks on the Brigs and the security weapons lockers.

CoS

With last of the files saved and stored. Davon handed over the shift details to the shift lead for the late shift. Nothing had happened as everyone had behaved during their stay at the space station.

It happened suddenly, there was a rumble then Davon and NE Jafta where from against the wall.
” Jafta are you okay?” He asked
” A little banged up but I’ll live.” She had a cut to her forehead that would definitely need some dermal regeneration.
“Get yourself sick bay.”

Jafta left holding her hand to her head.

=^= Security to bridge what just happened? I’ve just be launched across my office. I’ve had to send NE Jafta to Sickbay.=^=

COS

There was no response to his call. In fact there was a disappointed squeak that indicated that the comm badges weren’t working to go along with the fact that power was out in his section. There was a brief moment a darkness before the back up power came on.

There was not ‘getting to sickbay’, at least it wasn’t as simple as that… none of the automatic doors were working in this section.

The security chief could tell it wasn’t even the impulse drive coming on line, it was the batteries… and at reduced power… which was weird. Each section had its own dedicated battery system that should power it full for hours… perhaps a day if it were rationed.

GM

Davon tapped his comm badge couple more times before he accepted that comms were indeed down and out. Lucky for him the door to his office hadn’t shut before the power outage, it did however mean that Jefta was not going to sick bay anytime soon. Any medical attention she needed would have to be administered here in security.

He made his way over to a wall panel and tried to pry it open knowing there was a basic medical kit behind it.

“Jefta take a seat for a moment I do not think you are going to sick bay right this moment.” He said.

“Computer?” He asked hoping for some kind of find back, “damage report?”

COS

*Bumpio

The computer offered information sparingly. =^=Hull breaches along deck 20 through 24, section D - I, cross sectional force-fields and physical barriers have been deployed. Internal sensors and communications outside of the 22.7 meters of this location is non–responsive. Have a nice day : )=^=

GM

“Have a nice day?!” He muttered to himself. He started attending to the wound on Jefta’s head. It was mostly superficial but there was still a risk of concussion.

“Computer, Is anyone within range of my communicator other than those in Security?” He asked, he wanted to make sure there was a way to get out with out pulling wall panels inside security apart. While he waited he started unclipping the door panel.

CoS

The emergency manual release opened relatively easily. The handle inside rotated down and the door was detached from the machinery allowing for easy sliding of the door.

=^=Yes.=^= the computer paused. =^=Three com-badges belonging to Ensign Prema Science, Midshipman Reese Maintenance, Lieutenant Paige Medical.=^=

GM

“Jefta it looks like for now we will have to manually over ride the doors until whatever is happening is over.” Devan said, “Get as many of our people out there and start offering aid to anyone who needs it. And get yourself up to sickbay. I am going to head to the bridge.”

=^= This is Security Chief Riloc, to anyone who can here this message you will need to manually over ride the doors for the time being. Lt. Paige I am sending a security team your way to get you to sick bay if you’d be so kind as to look at Lt. Jefta when she gets to you that would be fantastic.=^=

=^=If you can get me to sick bay, I’ll look at whomever you’d like Chief.=^= Came the static filled reply of the Lieutenant. =^=I think we are cut off, I have a force field right in front of me and the computer says its securing the deck against a hull breach… I don’t see a hull breach.=^=

With that he stepped out of the office and towards a turbo lift shaft. “Computer currently what is the most secure way to access the bridge? The Turbolift shafts or Jefferies tubes?” He wasn’t an engineer but he would rather not get crushed by a Turbolift if the power suddenly came on.

CoS

=^=There is no secure path to CIC. No turbolifts report functioning. There is no bridge.=^= The computer answered unhelpfully.

GM

=^= Computer what do you mean there is no bridge… where is it?=^=

He walked quickly back to his office and tried to put up a current map of the ship. He was hoping to see anything that could help.

=^= Computer what was the reason for our sudden stop? Theory? =^=

CoS

+^+This class of vessel is not designed with a bridge. This ship’s command functions operate from the CIC located amidships.=^= The computer responded flatly.

=^=Data is insufficient for a theory without additional parameters.=^=

GM

He wasn’t sure if the computer was capable of being flippant but it was definitely giving it a good try.

“Computer. Is there a safe way to the CIC?” He asked through gritted teeth.

He had not heard from Paige yet so that was concerning and Jefta was not looking to well, the lump on her head was a clear sign she was going to need some medical attention sooner rather than later.

CoS

=^=Data collection is limited to roughly 20 meters from this location. Internal scanners from other sections are cut off from other compartments. The data able to be collected indicates that either cross-sectional bulkheads or structural integrity force-fields block all paths to the CIC.=^=

GM

He sighed. He really wished he paid more attention in engineering and science classes at the academy.

He walked back over to his desk, locating one of the security tri-corders and walked back to the exit. The emergency release had been opened moments after the event and he was sure he would have a bit more room down the corridor.

Firstly though, he walked over to a slouching Jefta he ran a quick scan, from what he could make it, it looked like a concussion. He was however not a doctor.

“Just stay here Jefta, I’m going to see if I can find help.”
She nodded groggly.

He made his way to the next set of bulkheads. “Computer collect the data from the tri-corder and compile results.” He was going to manually scan the corridors and try and create a route to the CIC.

CoS

The tricorder had limited ability to penetrate the force field. However what it could determine was there was both a cross-sectional wall and a force field blocking the main route to CIC unsurprisingly the path there was the ‘most’ secure one in terms of systems in place to keep it from losing structural integrity. The corridor beyond was not open to space as there was oxygen beyond. In fact the limited details he could understand there wasn’t significant enough structural damage to warrant either safety measure… was the automatic safety features malfunctioning?

GM

The readings puzzled him for a moment. There was no reason for the structural fields to be active and clearly there wasn’t a breach in the hull.

He was calculating the risks of disabling the force fields as best he could in his head. He walked back to the security office first. “Jefta, I am going seal off the office and the brig. I am going to try and make my way to the CIC.” Jefta looked rough now but she was a tough cookie.

Using the manual over ride levers again; this time to close the doors behind him. He walked up to the currently locked door.

“Computer disable structural fields on this corridor. Authorisation code Riloc-AH 880-C.”

CoS

=^=Section 8A through 8F is sealed against identified hull breaches, do you wish to continue?=^= The computer seemed particularly reluctant to follow this order. =^=There is an 82% chance that this corridor will be open to space.=^=

GM

Riloc looked back down at his tri-corder. Clearly one of the devices was wrong. The question was which one. He thought for a moment. “Computer I have differing reports on my tri-corder, my readings say there is O2 therefore no exposure to the void.”

The computer paused as if confused by the information. =^=In the event of contradictory information the ship board sensors take precedence. They have more volume in terms of throughput and input. Onboard sensors in the corridor indicated, report structural damage. There is no report in terms of atmosphere in the positive or negative. =^=

He finally made a decision he would override the door. Check the integrity of the corridor visually before dropping the shields.

He pulled the panel loose and started manually opening the door.

CoS

The removal of the barrier was far more difficult than Riloc had believed the manual override required tripping the power circuit which would not be able to be ‘untripped’ remotely. Meaning after Riloc tripped it someone would have to flip it back by hand to put the force field back up in this section.

That being said the ‘trip’ worked and the shield dropped. There was no attached explosive decompression and there was definitely breathable atmosphere behind the door.

GM

Riloc breathed a huge sigh of relief at not being sucked into the void. He stepped over the threshold where the force field had been. He walked with purpose taking tri-corder readings along the way. =/\= Lt. Riloc to CIC?=/\= he asked hoping that now he was past the barrier he could get a signal through.

If not he would keep on walking.

CoS

The comm badge responded with an unhappy hiss, communication was out to all other sections of the ship. Riloc would pass people in various levels of distress, but none urgent enough to require him to stop. What was odd was the number of pin pricks that Riloc could see in the hallways of the ship. The pin picks carried little flecks of light.. nothing too significant, almost like reflective motes inside of a snow globe.

GM

The flecks on light caught his eye as well as the sheer number of pin pricks in the hull. They must of hit something on a micro level he thought to himself. But for now he needed to make his way up the CIC.

He scanned the pin pricks and the motes of light with the tri corder. No harm in trying gather information to get to command once he got to CIC.

He continued down the corridor. He didn’t know where the damage controls teams were but he was making a note of the damage he could see on the deck at the moment.

COS

The pin pricks were not consistent with a hit by a micro meteor or like object. they had no heat effects, scorching or tears along the perimeter. The other damage was consistent with a sudden radical stop which included hull stressors, shifted equipment, and detached panels.
