Marine Barracks - 2242 Hours

Posted Dec. 15, 2019, 9:18 p.m. by Lieutenant Colonel Elsamine Georgio (Battalion Commander) (Tyra Schroll)

<SNIP>

OOC: I recall a PFC Hudson from the movie Aliens … why does that not comfort me? <G> .. Gene

OOC: It wasn’t designed to comfort you. In fact the feeling should be very similar.

“Colonel, recommend you keep B Company here, and see if they can track down whatever these two saw. I’ll take A Company up to the flight deck. See if the flyboys can get out there to keep us from going boom.”

MCapt Hawkins - A Co Commander

Elsa nodded “Make it happen Kate.” She said “Keep your heads on the swivel and report in every 15 minutes.” She said and spoke to the young Marine that had the radio =^=CIC this is Captain Georgio, we have potentially two intruders. We’re continuing to search. We will be clearing deck by deck. Will report when we have more information.=^= She stated =^=A Company is heading to the flight deck to help get the fighters in the sky.=^=

MCO

“Aye Colonel.” Kate stepped back and motioned one of the other marines over and handed him the comm unit. She tapped her short range comm unit for her company.

=^= A Company move out. We are on the move. I need a demo team here, and break out the climbing gear. Command says we are to make some short cuts. =^=

The Private First Class stared at his tricorder for a moment, flashing the screen to the lance Corporal who pursed his lips… “Permission to report, Sir.” Hicks spoke for the two of them… technically they hadn’t be released from the attention.

In the background a team had climbed to the ceiling and was placing shaped charges there. The team on the ground was already ready. “Permission to detonate?”

GM

Kate looked over at the work the demo team made to cut the hole in the ceiling. It was clean and neat. “Permission granted.”

As the rest of her company started to stream in, she held up her hand and motioned the company to stay back. “As soon as we have our access hole, 1st Platoon goes up, secure the deck. We keep cutting holes until we get to the flight deck. 2nd Platoon, you head for Main Engineering. They need a comm unit.”

=^= Captain, what is the nature of these intruders? Sightings? Hostile? Has there been any attempt at communication? =^= Jen replied. He tone was curt and concerned.
- Jen, XO

Elsamine spoke =^=It’s hard to say Commander. They appear to be cloaked. We are looking for them now. A Company is on the move.=^= She said =^=B Company will be on the move momentarily going down towards main engineering.=^= She said =^= Movement is going to be slow going. We’re having to use explosive charges. So if you feel explosions, that’s us. =^= She looked around “Blevins, Emmory, Black and Garrison, take charges and head towards main engineering. Do what is necessary to get there.”

MCO

=^= Acknowledged. Work the plan. =^= Jen replied.
- Jen, XO

MCapt Hawkins - A Co Commander

An explosion that would have been loud in the great outdoors reverberated uncomfortably, even in the cavernous marine barracks. A moment later a pair of marines looked into the open hole. The hummed appreciatively and then two ropes were dropped down. Marines two at a time disappeared into the hole landing on the deck below. =^=First squad, second platoon Dog company is on the deck and moving out.=^=

=^=Acknowledged. Move carefully and quickly. Aid where you can and tag when needed for the medical teams later.=^= Elsa ordered as she continued looking around their area =^=Echo team, location.=^=

A minute later the team at the ceiling repeated the process upside down. It took longer for them to get through the hole but the end point was still the same. A squad was on the deck above and would be spreading out from there.

Elsa watched as her men fanned out across the ship “You two stay alert, I’m going into the office.” She said and turned on her heel, her wrist now the size of a grapefruit, she returned with a phase rifle and a tricorder and began moving through the area looking for anything that might indicate where these cloaked creatures went.

MCO

The two officers that were ordered to attention continued to stand there unmoving for the most part. The glanced between each other hoping someone higher ranked would put them back ‘at ease’ again during this wait… Private First Class stared at his tricorder for a moment, flashing the screen to the lance Corporal who pursed his lips… “Permission to report, Sir.” Hicks spoke for the two of them.

Elsa came back “At ease gentlemen. What’s your report?” She asked as she took the safety off of the rifle in her hand. She now wondered if by putting holes in the floor and ceiling if they had just given the creatures and egress to other parts of the ship. She turned to Hicks “Yes?”

MCO

“The sensors are detecting subspace products within the deck.” Hicks had know of subspace transports… which was a fantastically dangerous and eventually lethal means of travel. He doubted that was what was going on, but on the other hand he didn’t have a good explanation of what it was if it wasn’t that. Hudson shrugged as Hicks spoke, but as if it were helpful he turned his scanner towards the commander.

Elsa looked at the readings “Track it.” She said as she attempted to contact CIC =^=Commander, we have subspace products detected on this deck. Sending you the readings now. We are also now concerned about opening the floors and ceiling that whatever has managed to get onboard is now able to move through the ship. So keep your eyes open.=^=

MCO

=^= Jen here. I’m sure you are running into lightly wounded of Fleet or have lightly wounded Marines. Post sentries at each deck opening you’ve made. They can assist in the movement of the crew and be sentry against anything else moving about. Do you believe that this is a life form? Has there been any contact or communication attempts? What would I see were I to see them to recognize them? =^=
- Jen

=^=Negative Commander. There has been no attempt at communication at this point.=^= Elsa said as she listened to Hicks

“I can see it Ma’am. But there isn’t a consistent product related to movement. The spikes flash about randomly…” He shook the tricorder as if that was going to make the information clearer. “First one here.. then the last one was here four minutes ago. I don’t have enough to see a pattern.” Hudson offered.

Lance Corporal Hicks and Private First Class Hudson
GM
=^=Sir, the creature signature is not consistent, they apparently have spikes that flash about randomly. We don’t have enough to make a pattern yet.=^= She said as she turned to Hudson “Tell the other teams to send wounded crew to sickbay and station sentries at the openings that we create.” She said =^=Commander, do we have a triage area set up, other than Sickbay?=^=

MCO

Hudson got on the marine radio and relayed the message.

GM

If this gets through … =^= Jen to Marine units. Ship logs suggest we either hit something or came very close causing the ship to come to a .. rapid stop. It is showing widespread hull breaches and related force fields in corridors and cross-sectional bulkheads. I believe them to be false. Care should be taken in any forward hull facing section, however. Proceed with a focus of restoring passages to Engineering and the Flight Bays. Report tricorder findings in all corridors as you go through your communications node points to push the data of ship status and corridors to CIC. They will be compiled and returned back so you all have a composite of the ship until systems can be restored. Jen out. =^=
- Jen

Elsamine looked at the young man with the radio “Repeat those orders to the other teams and have them relay information to us.” She said as she continued monitoring the area around them.

MCO

Hudson nodded with the order. He could send out the orders and await the responses. =^=MCO actual, relaying, Ship logs suggest we either hit something or came very close causing the ship to come to a .. rapid stop. It is showing widespread hull breaches and related force fields in corridors and cross-sectional bulkheads. I believe them to be false. Care should be taken in any forward hull facing section, however. Proceed with a focus of restoring passages to Engineering and the Flight Bays. All units report status to this station. =^=

Private First Class Hudson
GM

A message came in from the CIC. =^= Corporal Gettinger to Units. Commander requests deck stress scans for pressure and structural integrity. Request any information on that recent sound and cause. Over. =^=
Gettinger

=^= Understood actual. Alpha Company has reached Deck 13, and is proceeding to the flight deck. We will report in once we have made contact with the CAG. Alpha Company out. =^=

MCapt Hawkins - A Co Commander

A short while later Gettinger replied. =^= Report acknowledged Captain. Colonel asks if any squads have made it to Engineering yet. =^=
- Gettinger

Elsa looked at the others “Get this deck cleared.” She said to several other marines that came up. “And you’re late. Where have you been?” She demanded.

MCO

Elsa pulled her phase pistol and looked at the other team that had just arrived “You are with me, we are going to make our way to main engineering.” She said “We’ll probably have to cut our way through. We need to take structural integrity readings as we go.” She added and then attempted to contact the Bridge =^=Bridge this is Col Gregio, we are heading towards main engineering. Alpha company is heading towards the flight deck. We will update as we have information.=^=

MCO

The marines nodded. It wasn’t like they were going to disagree with the Colonel. As they moved along they took readings. Private First Class Hudson looked at his tricorder. “The readings vary Ma’am.” he pointed at a cross beam, “This is at 22.4 kilopascals.” He faced another one. “This one is 415.4 kilopascals” He shook his head in confusion. He had no idea what the numbers meant.

PFC Hudson
GM

Elsa listened “Ok. Start cutting this one and we’ll work our way down.” She said taking one of the cutting torches and starting to make the egress to the deck below them.
