It was then he realised his tone before. “Apologies Commander I did not mean to imply your job does not involve maintaining crew safety. I feel pretty useless locked in here.”

CoS

As a soldier Jen was used to a great deal more situational grumbling and attitude. “None taken, Lt. However, perhaps we might have a solution that will get us about the ship even a little more efficiently.”

M’Ressa grumbled as she reported to the XO on the bridge,=^= It appears that we our warp field strength is 50% greater then usual but we are not moving, Commander. Sheriye is attempting to ascertain why.=^=

Rear Admiral M’Ressa
Sheriye CSO

Jen’s antennae twitched at this news. “A warp field does just that - it warps space and time. That is why it used to be called a space time field. If there is something pressing in on the ship then a warp field could theoretically be used to disrupt the space around it.” At least that was what his somewhat limited knowledge about it showed off the top of his head.

=^= Jen to Admiral M’Ressa. Continue to study what is happening. Additionally can you attempt to transport a field ration to us in the CIC? If so you may be a central resource for getting us about the ship. =^=

Katelyn listened to the exchange between the COS and the XO as she collected a phaser for herself, the look on her face daring the other officers to even comment on it. It was taking all of her training to not start banging her head against the nearest bulkhead with the situation the ship was in. They had to come up with something and fast.

Jacobs, CO

The body language of the Captain showed frustration. The COS was as well. Evidently they’d not been in a command bunker underground for weeks while trying to ascertain the shreds of their troop status and hold the field while shredder droids swept the field above. “I have a thought. The bays where the Admiral are in the runabout are along the same line as that of the computer core. The runabout has transporters. We are not that far off geographically. If they can get their transporter working the CSO could be transported to the computer core, perhaps with our security chief for escort and see what the computer has to say for itself on what it is doing.”
- Jen, XO

Kate called into CIC, trying to see where they wanted her company next.

=^= CIC, this is Alpha Company. The bird is away, where do you want my team next? =^=

MCapt Hawkins - A Co Commander

Katelyn’s frustration rapidly faded as Jen provided a reasonable plan. It faded even more when Hawkins’ communication came through, turning into relief that they had finally managed to get the runabout up and running. Glancing at the XO, she commented, “Hawkins might be able to start making her way there with her team to provide security,” she commented. “That way we only have to try to transport the CSO. I wonder if they could get a lock on the CE, wherever she ended up…” The slight twinge of frustration entered her voice again as she disliked not knowing the status of her people.

Jacobs, CO

“Well let us see,” Jen replied, initiating comms. =^= Jen to Admiral M’ressa. We would like you to try three things. The first is to scan and attempt to find our chief engineer. The second is to attempt to beam an object to the CIC. If you are able to and negotiate the force fields we may be able to do limited transports on board. A third thing is to attempt to send out a communications check with your vessel the comms hub for reception. If so you may become our new CIC. A possible objective will be to beam Lt Sheriye to the computer core to talk directly to the computer AI and find out what it is doing. =^=

He turned to the Captain. “If we can transport one of us such as yourself may transport there and use the runabout as a ad hoc CIC.”
- Jen

The marines had blown paths to the CIC and the landing bay. If the transporter won’t work (they won’t) you could always walk. It would take about 20 minutes at a comfortable pace.

GM

Katelyn nodded to Jen. “Even if transport isn’t possible, I may be more useful down there,” she thought out loud. “There’s no use to having all of us in here staring at one another while we try to figure out what’s going on.” She glanced at the COS. “Hopefully the transport works, but if it isn’t, you and I will head out to the landing bay on foot.”

Jacobs, CO

“Understood, sir.” He put the rifle up to his face checked the sight and nodded. “I am ready just give the order.”

CoS

Jen realized that he had, with his suggestion, just worked himself out of a job, per se. With the CIC essentially being transferred to the roundabout which had limited room - and really, what use would a ex-Colonel now Commander be among a Captain and and Admiral in the scope of command? This wasn’t a battlefield yet he could commiserate with the security chief in wanting to be out in the field. Perhaps that would be the next move.

“You won’t need me in a runabout stepping on yours and the admirals’ toes, Captain. What have you for me to do?” Rattling around a near useless (just yet) CIC was hardly a useful venture.
- Jen, XO
