Katelyn smiled at her XO, appreciating his concern about being stuck in a mostly useless CIC. “Where do you think your skills would be the most useful, Commander?” she questioned. She had a few ideas of where he could jump in, but she’d prefer that it be somewhere that worked the best with his skillset. They hadn’t had a chance to spend much time getting to know one another yet, so in some ways, she felt like she was flying blind with him.

Jacobs, CO

=^=Commander. The CSO says that the multitude of forcefields around the ship will interfere greatly with both scans and beaming and around the CIC in particular as it is the mostly heavily concentrated in forcefields. She is checking the computer core area as we speak now. She feels there is no reason the Ranger could not act as a Communications hub though as the Ranger computer is not infected the same way as the Chimera’s.=^=

Rear Admiral M’Ressa

=^= Thank you Admiral. The Captain will be joining you shortly to make your ship the defacto CIC. In the meantime do what you can with scans as you are able and add that to the database of what the marines and others have added for what is where in the ship. Is there any way of determining what population of the ship has been discovered and the level of injuries and treatment? =^=

=^=Understood, Commander. M’Ressa out.=^=

Jen was hoping that he would be given something to do. There was so much ‘to’ do. “Captain, I could join B Company in their search for people and a route in the lower decks. Alternatively I could secure engineering and attempt to see where our power is going. We have a great deal of auxiliary crew and engineers who should be put to establishing the safety of the blast holes that the marines made and testing stress levels through the ship. Additionally there has to be a way of deactivating force fields, even for the benefit of passage so that the ship can be assessed and injured crew removed to safety. I can understand the ship’s .. safety mechanisms .. however one forcefield for a few seconds at a time is not going to crash us.” He hoped, anyway.
Jen

The ship whined unhappily every time someone dropped a force field. It seemed unwise to drop all of them simultaneously.

Katelyn listened attentively to both M’Ressa’s response and Jen’s thoughts. “Sounds like a plan, Commander. Lieutenant Riloc, let’s go.” She pulled out the phaser she had stashed away and checked the settings on it, keeping it in her hand. “Let’s figure out what the heck is going on with this ship.”

=^= Jen to B-Company. Captain Pitt. Sitrep please. =^=
- Jen, XO

OOC: Thought I would see what they are doing and where they’ve gotten to, GM, as they have a job but no PC for it. However, for the moment, our good NE Captain Ferdinand Pitt will do the trick.

OOC: I’ve lost track of this company. where are they going.?
OOC: Where A Company was going to the upper decks, B Company was going down to the lower decks. .. Gene

=^=This is Captain Pitt, We’re on deck 31… =^= which meant they moved down eleven decks since they were ordered to move out. =^=We also made contact with the security doors outside the computer core and the warp drive ejection systems. You can tell the engineers that we’ve been minimizing the size of the hole we’ve been opening. Each opening after deck 24 is about a meter and a half.=^=

=^= Alpha Company to Chimera Actual. Come back. =^=

MCapt Hawkins - A Co Commander (Crosspost)

Jen had just about set foot outside of the CIC when the call came through. By his estimation the Captain would be well on her way, if not at the Ranger vessel. It would be .. cozy there. Halting in his tracks he mentally plotted out where they might be. Computer Core? Some elements were at Engineering. And a whole lot were about the ship shoring up the lines of travel. =^= Jen here =^= he replied. Were it not for the strange noises about the ship and a few other odds and ends he would be feeling more confident about things. =^= Sit rep =^= he said automatically.

Taking a seat on the edge of a console stool he pondered things. They had things to do. Odd sightings to check out more fully. Strange lights. What exactly was happening outside the hull of the ship. At last they were starting to have communications with the command level crew beyond a few. And, like a chess game, they could put those players into action.

While waiting for a reply, he called to the Chief Engineer. =^= Jen to Chief Engineer. Sit rep … =^= a pause .. =^= What is your status? =^=
- Jen, XO

OOC: One of these days I’ll learn to read then post … but starting at the top and working down is always so .. orderly ..
IC:
=^= Mr M’resh, this is Commander Jen. If you are finished in Sickbay I have need of you. =^= Jen’s tone was even but it sounded to Raal that he was talking and thinking at the same time.
- Jen, XO

=^= Commander, we’ve made it to the computer core, however we are locked out of the core. My tech’s are not able to bypass yet, I have someone coming to crack the security. I’m assuming you don’t want us to blow the door. =^=

=^= Commander. I’ve been advised by the tech’s that it will take upwards of 14 days to bypass the security. Though we could cut through in about 4 hours. Any chance locating the Chief Engineer to bypass the security protocols? =^=

MCapt Hawkins - A Co Commander

=^= Lets not irritate our engineers any more than we have to. The Chief Engineer is at an alternate deck entry to the Computer Core and will soon be endeavoring to access it. I can attempt to access the door through the comms using my authorization. It might save you some hammering. Provided I can get you in you can meet up with the engineer and his band in the core. =^=

Provided that the comms are brought closer to the door and things are ready ..

=^= Computer. Access Computer core on my Authorization - Jen th’Jir Romeo November Alpha Seven Seven Niner =^=

=^= Good to hear from you Commander. I just arrived at the core and getting ready to see if we can gain access. Standby. =^=

Lt Sutret - CE

=^= I await your report of success with much anticipation, Lt. I have just been in contact with Captain Hawkins and am attempting to get them into the Core from Deck 14. I’m advising that they can meet up with you inside. Provided the computer will take my voice authorization over the comms, if you cannot gain entry I can attempt that on your side as well. =^=

Jen

=^=Bridge, can you tell me how much damage we’ve taken and where are the internal forcefields and external forcefields located?=^=

MCO

Bridge? Jen thought with some amusement. Has she gone to the dark side so quickly? =^= Negative on damage. That is still being assessed. We believe there is an external pressure that has caused the computer to establish all the force fields you have been running into. As for a map, cue your tricorder to the Marine intranet and anything that has been mapped is there along with the roads we’ve been making around them. The Captain is on Ranger One in the Hanger and trying to learn more on what is out there. =^=
