=^= I will give you a sit rep on the shields as soon as I can, Captain. In the meantime does Ranger have any probes you can fire out? =^= Jen was becoming more convinced that the ship had these controls in place for a reason and until then he wasn’t going to charge ahead with taking more down than he needed to. On the battlefield AI was invaluable - most of the time. Other times it hindered them. Right now Jen simply wasn’t sure that it was intentionally hindering them in their usually full on charge toward an objective.

OOC: and one from sickbay ..

=/\= Let me find out… =/\= Katelyn responded, slightly annoyed with herself for not knowing the immediate answer to that.

IC:
Jen felt a moment of wry humor well up. Doctors. They needed to loosen up. So says the army colonel who had seen more combat situations than not. =^= Sorry for the trouble. We were breaking in a new person on the helm. They saw the little red button in the corner. Nuff said. =^= Jen paused again before continuing. =^= I think everyone has some bumps to show for this. We’re still trying to figure it out. In the meantime I will pay a visit to you. I need to speak with you and the woman. Jen out. =^=

With that he turned to the marine comms noncom and did a comms check. “Route anything over to me. I’m on my way to sickbay to have a chat about the imaginary people who may not be so imaginary.” This would, he thought, give him a chance to see the work that the marines did that engineering would, eventually, have to repair. Granted, the marine engineers could lend a hand in there too. Good cross training on the marine’s part. With that, Jen began the climb to sickbay ..

Jacobs, CO (crosspost)

=^= Sutret to XO. Have you had any success figuring out what caused the Chimera to come to a stop? I was finally able to pull up the external records from right before our sudden deceleration. =^=

Lt Sutret - CE

Jen’s antennae made an equivalency of a Vulcan’s brow rising. =^= Do not hold me in suspense Lt. I was able from CIC to see the sensor logs up to the point where we came to an abrupt stop, though what I saw here held no detail. Simply that we were traveling and then we came to the stop as though there was something in our path. The hope was that the computer core would hold a more complete picture. =^=

=^= Commander, I was able to pull up some more detailed images from the sensors. It looked like we impacted some sort of energy bubble, about 100 meters long, and 50 meters high. I’m going to send the sensor logs to you for further analysis. I’ll see if we can get external sensors back online. =^=

Lt Sutret - CE

So we did hit something, Jen murmured to himself. His eyes narrowed in thought. =^= On your speculation as an engineer Lt, was this a hit on a vessel also with a warp field about it or a kind of naturally occurring energy bubble floating about in space? =^= He noted the files and considered sending them to the CSO to see what she might see on this information.
- Jen

=/\= Jacobs to Jen. We do have probes on board, what are you thinking? =/\=

Jacobs, CO (crosspost)

That call came about on the antennae tips of his last transmission. =^= Captain. The group at the computer core has determined that we impacted a bubble of energy 100 meters long and half that high. I’ve inquired on whether that may have been another vessel in a warp field. I thought a probe fired out would initially be safer and yield some preliminary information before Ranger and you stepped out. =^= He paused. =^= I have the files on the sensor records and will forward them to you. Is the CSO still with you to look at them? =^=
Jen

=/\= I haven’t seen Commander M’Resh… =/\= Katelyn answered, her voice trailing off as Marine began to speak…

Jacobs, CO (crosspost)

=^=Commander. From what I can see on the sensors, this isn’t naturally occurring. It appears to be to regular in shape to be natural. But by the fact that we are still stuck in this spot, and are not drifting, I don’t think it is a ship. I think it is something that is locked into this location. =^=

Lt Sutret - CE (crosspost)

Jen pondered this development. They hit something. That something did not appear to be natural. It did not appear to be a vessel. However, some ‘beings’ were seen aboard. Locked. A small station perhaps? His mind trailed to his experience. Cloaked observation posts. Phase-altered scout suits. Camouflaged bunkers. Could this be something similar? A kind of cloaked observation post by some aliens? Watching .. what? Them? Another little pocket universe perhaps? He frowned. “This would make for a good futuristic holo,” he muttered to the comms operator.

=^= Something inhabited it seems, Chief. Can you access the sensors now to see if there is anything ‘out’ there? Life forms. Structure. Something out of phase. If we hit them and we’re .. partly in their space it could be that much more pressure on our hull. We need to know the what before we can see to the how of backing out of there. =^=
