“Intruders…” mumbled the young ensign as she stirred slightly. There were no obvious physical ailments the woman was suffering; the technical term for her diagnosis would be “freaked out.”

Ensign ScaredyCat

Ryley raised an eyebrow. “Intruders? As in intruders on the ship or intruders in that whacked out cranium of yours?” He tried to help her up. “Come on, up You get and we will find you something nice and calming…like some cocoa, or a scotch or a mild sedative.”

Ryley
MD

Inky black eyes connected with Ryley’s as the ensign muttered. “I could feel extra presences.” With that, she fell soundly asleep in the middle of the floor, exhausted by her encounter.

Ensign ScaredyNap

=^= Jen to Sickbay. How is it going down there? =^= he inquired …
Jen
OOC: hopefully to get some indication of the extra presences … :)

As if by magic the call came. As two medics helped move the now unconcious Ensign to a nearby biobed Ryley his his comm.

=^= Sickbay. We have triage procedures in place however it would be very useful if you stopped us crashing and bashing for a few minutes so we can get the walking wounded walking again and free up some space.=^= he considered the Ensign and what she had said. =^= Also have a young woman in what appears to be a state of shock and or mental exhaustion claiming to have sensed the presense of intruders on board.=^=

MD

There was a short pause. =^= Sorry for the trouble. We were breaking in a new person on the helm. They saw the little red button in the corner. Nuff said. =^= Jen paused again before continuing. =^= I think everyone has some bumps to show for this. We’re still trying to figure it out. In the meantime I will pay a visit to you. I need to speak with you and the woman. Jen out. =^=
Jen

=^= I’ll await your arrival with baited breath.=^= Ryley said with roll of his eyes and turned to watch the movement of the woman.

Mary, who had been standing in the background doing background actor things up until this point, moved over to the biobed to check on readings and so forth of the Ensign.

“Gently does it,” Mary said to the Medics as the Ensign’s readings came through.

  • Dr Knowles, GP

The ensign focused on the Doctor for a moment then looked slightly to her left… “Double the doctors… double the trouble.”

Ensign Random
GM

Ryley raised his eyebrows as he came to stand with Mary. “Do you mean me and her or are you seeing someone else we can’t?” He asked.

Ryley
MD

“That depends… can you see that woman right there.” She pointed at Dr. Knowles…

“Hmm, what about the blurry one going over there?” now her arm gestured to open space… Her hand continue to race a path approximately at walking speed.

It was a little while later that Jen negotiated the passage to Sickbay and was able to witness firsthand all that the marines had done and scale of the issues the ship was facing. Winding along the passages he felt rather like an Andorian ice-wyrm. At each juncture where there were marines or fleet persons posted Jen gave them nods and words of encouragement along the way including answering what questions as he could. The ship was not in a good place and his job was to keep up the morale and hopes of the troops. A battle was one thing to face and overcome. Tragedy was easier to face than the unknown - and right now they had a lot of unknowns.

He was getting tired after a long day and the even longer night. He would need to ask the doc if she had anything he could use - or if there was a bio bed to stretch out on for an hour. When he entered Sickbay he took in the orderly chaos that looked more like a field hospital than a starship right now. The smells, the sounds and the hushed movement conspired to make it feel like a library atmosphere - don’t talk, don’t run with scissors. Spotting a small knot of people Jen made his way over. “Doctor,” he said as he approached.

Ensign Random

Jen blinked. He must be more tired than he thought in that he didn’t catch the woman’s gaze at once. There had been a lot of hits and bumps and bruises and, being in sickbay, he had at first put this down to a concussion and seeing double. However double didn’t walk about. “Wait, what? Ensign, what do you see? You say a blurry figure?” He didn’t want this one to get away. “Wave at it.” He slowly approached her, his eyes looking in that direction. “Anyone with a medical scanner .. can you detect anything in the area that this ensign is pointing?”
- Jen

She waved at it for a moment then looked at the doctor. “It was blurry doc, now its gone. I must be seeing things.”

Jen frowned. He hated a bogey to get away. In an infantry or combat setting that meant bad news. While this may not be, it still made his stomach cringe. “No, don’t think that. You saw something. More than one I would gather. Is that right?” His voice was business and the Andorian pushed himself to try to be sympathetic. That was not a typical quality for a marine. “Now, take your time. Describe to me what you saw. Figures moving. Did they look like us? Were they carrying anything that you could tell? Did they look like they were noticing us or trying to get our attention? Were they moving about like us - not certain, confused, curious, injured, quick or slow? What was your general ‘sense’?”
- Jen

The Medical tricorder was unable to pick up any life forms or other signal that could have been a life form. It did pick up ‘quantum fluctuations.’ What the doctor could determine from that would be directly related to her engineering or quantum mechanics expertise, which I presume is fairly low.

GM

“Yea, they just looked like humanoids, although not necessarily human. There was a sort of haze around them that made it look blurry. I just thought I had a concussion. Stuff like that some times happens to telepaths, as the mind project an image over the corporeal self. It’s can be a glow… the hippies call it an aura.”

Ensign Random paused. “Actually I ‘saw’ three or four people like that on the way down. One… just walked through a wall. Like I said I thought I was had a concussion… is it something different.”

Ensign Random
GM

Ryley occupied himself with his tricorder and raised his eyebrows. “Great…hippy auras.” He handed his tricorder wordlessly over to the XO.

Ryley
MD

Jen’s antennae shifted as though they might pick up something of this ‘aura’, taking the tricorder almost absently. It was not a new thing per se for non corporeal life forms to be around. Metrons. Q. Sargon to name a few. Though with the situation and what the ensign was saying perhaps they have a body and all she was picking up was the aura. “When you see one next, do you think you can try to get its attention?” He knew that could be dangerous. Though if they were hostile they would have acted already when they had the advantage. These ‘auras’ did not appear to be as distressed as they were here.
