The numbers were right on, presuming the data they gave them were correct and visa versa. It would be a simple thing to give a slightly higher resistance rate and thus make the Chimera Prime drop their warp drive and shields first.

As she waited for the final check to come back, she glanced over at the clock showing how much time they had left until they ran out of power.

Lt Sutret - CE

“Chief, are the clocks synched or are we operating independently of one another? If anything goes wrong on our end or theirs, such as a momentary power interruption or fluctuation due to the stresses is there any failsafes to scuttle the count?”
- Jen

The had achieved perfect synchronicity on the ship board clocks.

“Clocks are sync’ed, it was the best way to ensure simultaneous shut down. Unfortunately we would only have a small window to actually override the system. To minimize the chance of power fluctuations, we shortened the clock.”

Koria paused for a second thinking. “I guess we could put a power generator in line with the secondary shield generators. In case of a last minute issue of the clocks no longer sync’ing, we could overload the generator to give a sudden burst to the shield array. It will probably fry the secondary emitters, but it would hopefully give us enough reinforcement to get the primary generators back online.

That was true enough, but if they put their shields on at any appreciable level when the alternate cut theirs they would doom the alternate Chimera.

“The only issue is that if we do that, unless the other Chimera also had the same recovery plan, and we didn’t time it right, we could end up destroying both ships.”

Lt Sutret - CE

Kate came jogging back into engineering. She had left one of her team stationed at the scanner, just in case anything happened.

“Everything is secure Commander.”

MCapt Hawkins - A Co Commander

“Thank you, Captain. Well done. Let’s hope that when the time ticks down we are still .. ticking.”

“Do it,” Katelyn instructed. “We’re operating on limited time here.” She didn’t want to seem rash in her decision making, but it was time for action. They had a plan with a reasonable chance of success and anyway, the future was looking mighty grim at the moment if they didn’t get this situated.

Jacobs, CO

Jen was decisive in a pinch. He didn’t feel they were in a ‘pinch’ just yet. On a battlefield, unless there was necessity for an element of surprise or a need to take advantage of a situation, they planned and prepared. Starfleet, he was beginning to learn, was a different creature. Where there was a one shot at this option, Jen’s consideration was to prepare. However, he mentally conceded, they had to work in some trust to this scenario as well. His eyes watched the people, far enough away to get a wider picture of it all as it unfolded.
- Jen, XO

Koria blinked. “Um, Captain. Is that do it as in get the backup plan in place? Or moving ahead with the original plan?”

Ltjg Sutret - CE

“Original plan, Chief,” Jen said. “Let’s get us moving again.”
Jen

Katelyn nodded at Jen with a tense smile. “We just need to move ahead, Lieutenant. We’re limited on time.”

Jacobs, CO

Koria nodded as she looked over at Commander Argeneau. “Commander, we are ready when you are. Automatic countdown clock will start on your signal.”

Ltjg Sutret - CE

=^=We are good here… =^= She made a quick nod to the side and both ships started the countdown. She closed her eyes for a moment then opened them. =^=It was nice seeing you Captain Jacobs.=^= She faded away with a sad smile.

Unless the Chimera did something unexpected. The timer hit zero and the shipped seemed to vibrate and phase for a quick moment… the ship went dark, then nothing… after what seemed to be an eternity, the ship power came back on. The lights activated and started ship sounds that most had learned to ignore beeped into existence.

Across the decks, the automatic bulkheads and forcefields withdrew.

=^=Bridge to Captain, we are free and clear to maneuver.=^=

OOC: Thank You everyone… that’s the end of the mission.
