He gave a quick nod, saying nothing for the time being, and hopped up where the doc had patted, sitting down. From what the CMO in question could see from a first glance was a man in seemingly top form, although, the mix of Bajoran and Cardassian might have been something of an uncommon sight amongst a starfleet crew; with the Ensign still sporting many of those “key” Cardassian features. The ridges, the neck bones, they were all there although at least somewhat muted and softened, with his skin tone far more human than the typical greyish tones someone of full Cardassian descent might have had.

Security EnsignRyley pulled a very battered looking, heavily modified tricorder from the inside jacket pocket of his attire and turned it at Arto. “So, cardassian Genes huh?” He asked as he did an initial scan. His eyes flickered to the time piece the young man wore. “Nice watch.” He added.

MD“Yeah, from my father’s side. I never met the man though.”
Ryley made a sound as if he thought fathers were overrated. He didn’t comment however.
The scans would reveal the same sort of interesting mishmash of Bajoran and Cardassian physiology on the inside as there was on the outside. Fortunately for the ensign though it would seem that the two people’s were far more biologically compatible than culturally or diplomatically, despite the differences between the two. The man had the magnesium based brown blood of a Cardassian, pumped by the horizontally mirrored heart of a Bajoran for instance, while other organs and internal structures were a more peculiar hybridisation of the two right down to the skeleton with its Bajoran joints mixed with perhaps slightly smaller but still distinctive Cardassian boney plates.

Ryley raised his eyebrows at the scan results. “Kool.” He said aloud and directed the scanner at the cardio system to get some more detail. “So what’s your thing kid? Security or engineering?” He asked
