Sometime after his encounter with the counselor, Ryley did as he was bid and went to the lounge. He sat at a table in the corner and rolled the ice in his synthetic scotch around the glass. As he waited he watched the people and played his favourite game of ‘diagnose the passer by’

Soon the doors to the lounge would open and in walked the Counselor. Simon stopped just inside for a months, scanning the crowd. He saw Ryley and made his way over to the corner.

“Hello there,” he said, taking the seat directly across from the other man. “I hope I haven’t kept you waiting long.”
