“Yes, Sir,” she answered as politely as she had been the entire time. “May I make a request to formally ask for permission in the future and discuss my reasoning and your limitations? I’m willing to wait a few weeks as I understand, now, what I did was something you didn’t approve of. And I give you my word it won’t happen again without your express permission.”

There was a chime at the CAG’s office door, with Lt. Hugo waiting patiently on the other side, hands clasped behind his back.

As the door opened, Hugo took a half step in, scanning the room and respectfully nodding at each person, then faced the Major. “Major Lardell, please pardon my interruption. I don’t think we’ve met, I am Lieutenant Jean Hugo, the ship’s new Chief of Security. My officers alerted me to an event on the flight deck and I thought it best to touch base personally. Would you mind if I sat in on this meeting so my office is aware of any security concerns? It would be greatly appreciated.”

J. Hugo, COS/CNS

OOC: Hope you don’t mind if I join, thanks!

OOC: Welcome!

IC: Lardel looked at the man for a moment and then just gestured to a spot in front of the desk as the chairs were taken. “Well, Lieutenant… in a nut shell the ship’s Chief Science Officer took it upon herself to wander into an active flight deck and scan my fighters… neither action of which she had permission to do. So as the new Security Chief, I will let you know in advance. A Marine Security detail will be assigned to the access points for the flight deck going forward to make sure these little incidents don’t happen again.” The Zakdorn Marine looked at the three people in his office and said “That work for all parties?”

Lardel, CAG

“Certainly Major, you are free to assign your staff at your areas as you please without expecting interference from my Security staff. As is usual practice, I would ask any and all events involving non-Marines be handled in conjunction Department.”

Rebecca nodded. “Of course.” She knew he was doing what he needed to. “I am aware that I handled things badly and most of this is my fault. But honestly, I think the protocols, if not an over strain on your men, Sir, is not a bad idea. At least when ops are happening.” She was being reasonable and accepting her part at the same time as supporting Lardel’s decision the best she could.

Apparently just because she had clearances on her last two ships, and the transport she had been on, didn’t mean it transfered here. She was completely aware, now, of her error and once this was settled, she would do her best to apologize and see what it would take to make things happen in the ‘right’ way for this ship and its CAG.

Braxton spoke up “Lieutenant, we are Starfleet Officers. We must act accordingly for the rest of the crew. With you being in charge of your science department, you should have known better Lieutenant. As of right now, I’m confining you to quarters until I speak with the Captain about this incident. Dismissed.” Braxton paused and waited for Lieutenant Morrison to depart.

OOC: I see that this was apparently continued in a different thread, though it wasn’t identified as such here… I guess I’ll just void my post. -Thomas
(Where did it move to? Thought we were still in here… the other threads were ‘later’ time threads)

A slight wrinkle of her forehead was all that betrayed her confusion and hurt at such a rash sudden choice by the XO. But it was fleeting and she nodded to the XO. “Yes, Sir.” She then inclined her head to the CAG with her smile back, “Major Ladel, I hope to see you again soon.”

She nodded to the Security Chief as she passed. “Sir,” she said and departed the room to head to her quarters.

OOC: I’m referring to the Check-in with the XO thread which discusses the outcome, so my post wouldn’t really have any impact since the outcome was already noted. I don’t really know how I can write my character’s response. Thanks, -Thomas

Lardel watched her leave and then looked at the XO. “Bit harsh if you ask me, but she’s yours… not mine.” and the Squadron CO then addressed both figures.
“To your request, Lieutenant. Any activities involving the ground pounders or the Fleeters on this ship have nothing to do with me and mine. That being said, should any of the Marine Aviators or Squadron support staff have any… well… let’s call them issues for the moment… with any of your personnel, then you discipline yours and I’ll take care of mine. As long as we are on the same page as to responsibility for such ‘issues’, I don’t foresee any friction between us. I do expect immediate notification when any of my team is involved in anything, of course.” and he then looked at the XO. “Had a good talk with the Skipper. I’ll tell you the same thing I told her. You all run your ship and leave the Squadron and its spaces to me. I’ll back the Chimera Command Staff to hell and back… provided I get the same courtesy. As far as I am concerned gentlemen, this is now home for all of us. We can either get along, or we can stay wholly seperate. The former works a lot better than the latter, in my opinion. But I leave that choice up to you.”

Lardel, CAG

Braxton looked back at Major Lardel and nodded “You can expect the same courtesy you have shown me today always. We’ll assist in any capacity as long as you deemed appropriate. You can expect me to have your “six” always Major.”

Harris, XO

Lardel nodded once and then stood up. “Much appreciated. Now if you gentlemen will excuse me. I am still getting things settled here. And I promised the Captain flight ops commencing within the next six hours.”

Lardel, CAG
