With the force field down, Koria made her way over to the controls, and hit the switch for the emergency cut-off for the fuel lines.

Lt Sutret - CE

The feeling in the ship was rather anti-climactic. There was a small shudder that the engineer could feel in the decking and then nothing as the lines were cut. Power shifted in the vessel. Slowly the lights on the panels winked out. Status displays still showed the conditions of the active impulse engines with only the one being potentially on line.

There was another small shudder. =^= Barrows to Chief. We have vented to space that area. Checking status of other areas but plasma fires will still be burning in areas the venting won’t reach. =^=
- Wookiee

As a Koria felt the shudder, and the status lights changed for the engines, she let out a sigh of relief.

=^= Good work, I’ve managed to cut the fuel lines. As you clear areas, go ahead and bring back life support, so fire teams can get in to put out the remaining fires. With the fuel lines cut, it should be significantly easier now. =^=

=^= Sutret to the Bridge. I’ve managed to cut the fuel lines to the damaged impulse engines. We had to vent the decks in certain areas to get the plasma fires under control. But the damage control teams are clearing the effected sections, introducing atmosphere so they can get the remaining fires under control. =^=

Lt Sutret - CE

=^=Acknowledged, good work Chief,=^= Freja nodded, =^=We’ll be getting company from the Markham in under an hour, be sure to indicate if you could use some assistance from their engineers when you submit your damage reports.=^=

~Freja Andreassen~

=^= Understood Captain. =^=

Barrows replied =^= Aye Chief. Bringing in an EVA suited team. I also have a request from a marine company to assist us. What do you think? I … stand by =^=

A moment later Barrows got on again. =^= Chief I have a team at the safe room. Their bulkhead door is jammed with the heat and some buckling. Request assistance. This is going to be one mean door to cut through. ^=

Koria sighed, of course there would be still more problems to solve. =^= Barrows, I’ve got an idea, but, well I can’t believe I’m going to suggest this. The marines are offering to help, and well, they are pretty good at making holes in the ship…=^=

It pained Koria to suggest it. That door was designed to take a beating on purpose, it was a safe room for a reason. But if the marines could get it open quickly, they could fix it later.
Barrows noticeably paused in the transmission. =^= I see what you’re getting at Chief. They’ve had a lot of practice recently in getting through our decks. Lets see how they do going through a door. I’ll keep you updated. =^=

“Deck 18, Chief Engineer’s office,” Jerryd repeated to himself quietly, “Engineering extends across decks 16 and 17 as well.” He continued to repeat what he knew about engineering as he grabbed a phaser from the weapons locker and checked the tricorder before closing it and clipping it to his belt.

Moments later he was stepping off the lift and heading to engineering, “In case of an emergency, the Chief Engineer is able to eject the core and/or re-route power throughout the ship from his office, which can be completely sealed off from the rest of Main Engineering…”

From the look of it, Engineering was a beehive of activity but that the explosion did not affect the warp core. There were smoking remains of two large consoles from overloads from the explosion, however this area was gratefully untouched.

The Deltan began to run simple scans while moving down the corridor, “conduct basic scans of the area and await accompaniment by Science officers,” he muttered as he went, repeating his current orders, not wanting to mess anything up. Soon arriving at the CE’s office, he looked about, “Now I just need a Science officer…”

Jerryd Tass (Security)

“What are you scanning for?” Asked a voice coming up from behind him. “Can I help you?” The engineer was dark eyed with wavy hair and evidently from Betazed.
- NE Neyal Tane

“Scans show abnormal energy levels, spacial anomaly likely the cause. This is all Greek to me, it makes no sense. Why would.....” Jerryd muttered as he tapped the tricorder, “Wait,” he stammered, suddenly becoming rigid and at attention, “Apologies, I’m Ensign Jerryd Tass, I was to secure engineering and locate a science officer to decipher these scans.”

Jerryd Tass (Security)

Lt Sutret - CE

“Or an overload somewhere in the impulse engines? We nearly were crushed by a subspace pocket where we had linked shields with an alt universe version of ourselves. I can’t imagine what that did to the systems.” The engineer noticeably shuddered. “Call me Tane. I take it that Science has been called to meet you here?” He looked around the engineering space. “Is there a problem that we need securing from?”
- Neyal Tane

Tass nodded, “Science was to pair up with security and I was directed here to scan and secure. Readings are not showing intrusion threat but energy readings are quite erratic.”

He relaxed his grip on the phaser in his hand. “Since the area seems secure enough; is there anything I can do to assist while I wait for the science team?”

Jerryd Tass (Security)

“Explain what exactly you are doing in my engineering, wearing a phaser,” Koria said as she walked back into engineering. Her respirator was hanging from her neck, and the fire jacket was slung over her shoulder. She really needed a shower, but that would have to wait until the situation was secure.

Staring at the phaser for a moment, he suddenly holstered it, “A necessary precaution. Starfleet protocol states that all security personnel will remain armed and at the ready until the absence of a threat can be ascertained.”

And as much as she wanted to be out helping to rescue those people, she had to leave it up to her team. She had an entire ship to be responsible for, and who knew what other systems had been effected by the explosions.

Tossing the jacket over one of the tables, she pulled up the full ship status display.

Lt Sutret - CE

==^== “Security to Bridge, I have arrived in engineering. There appears to be a lack of enemy presence but I am transmitting anomalous readings I have collected. I understand that I was to partner with a science officer however, none have arrived.”

He turned back to Sutret, “Do you require assistance?”

Jerryd Tass (Security)

“An explanation, and make it quick. Because I have a missing impulse engine, so catch me up on this supposed threat in my engineering. And what quote ‘anomalous’ readings you found in my engineering.”

Lt. Sutret - CE

Tass wondered if he was even speaking the same language was the engineer. “As I have said, I was directed here by the Chief of Security. I was to meet a science officer and I was to search for any presence or threat to the area. There appears to be no intrusion. There are abnormal readings. Perhaps caused by a spacial anomaly. There is a lack of a science officer to go over the readings with.” Had he forgotten anything? Was she about to demand that he explain himself again? “As there appears to be no threat to security, and I am here, I am offering any assistance I can provide.

He wondered if perhaps he should have headed to sickbay but all he could do was to await further orders.

Ensign Jerryd Tass (Security)

There was a bang-rumble that sounded and could be felt through those lower decks, then it subsided almost at once.

=^= Chief, Barrows here. Marines have blown the bulkhead into the safe area. We are extracting the engineers now. Sir, Isaac Urie, he’s in bad shape. I don’t know if he will make it. They are on their way to sickbay with him. But NE Calvin Nickel has a report. He and Urie were near Engine 2. Said something was not reading right just before the explosion. =^=
