Ensign Foster stood staring at the console. Bored completely out of his mind. Sensor reading flashed over the console with little to no change. There was nothing of interest in this area. A gas cloud was interfering with sensors to the port bow but they would clear that shortly. Foster sipped his coffee, the XO sitting in the command chair. There had yet to be a explanation for why the Captain was not in command right now.

As the ship moved in space they began to clear the gas clouds interference. Suddenly the sensors exploded with activity, Foster’s hands swept over the console. He was reading several vessels that appeared to be docked together of a unknown origin, he was also seeing ships from the Ferangi, Klingons, Orions and about a dozen other species. He was so engrossed reading the sensors that he almost forgot to announce the findings to the XO.

Looking up “Commander, we just cleared the gas clouds interference and I am seeing multiple vessels docked off the port bow mid sensor range, im not detecting any hostile activity at this time, maybe they don’t even know that we are here” just as Foster stated that his console blipped, a audio message from a hail =/\= Star Fleet Vessel Welcome to the carnival extravaganza! =/\= the voice was slightly high pitched and extremely excited. Attached to the message were docking instructions.

Foster looked up at the Commander, Fosters voice seemed fairly unsure of himself “uh.... um… Commander we are getting a audio hail with docking instructions attached, uhhh..... what would you like us to do?” This seemed very unusual and slightly concerning to the young Ensign, not much had ever happened while he was on bridge duty.

OOC: Come one, come all, Jump right in

Covering the security station during the night shift was a job that Peter had done many times on the Ogawa. He liked the night shift, things were generally quiet at night and it gave one time to think. His security crewmates use to rib him about it but he figured he was just made that way. Probably why he had majored in psychiatry as well as security. He liked to know the whys and wherefore of things not just the reportable facts. He liked puzzles and it looked like they were going to have another one as the ship cleared the gas cloud and Ensign Foster’s cry rang out on the bridge, Peter’s hands flew over his own console.

“Confirmed, sir! I am reading Ferengi, Klingon, Orion, and many other ships. Shields and weapons are not hot.” Peter reported as he read his console.

Cross Sec

And then the sound of a vacuum cleaner began in the back left hand corner of the bridge. Nothing ever happened in night shift, and so Sadie picked this time to do the vacuuming of the bridge. The flashiness of the lights, not to mention the shouted voices drew her out of revelry and she reluctantly closed off her vacuum and approached the crew who were actually on the bridge. The cart into which she had packed her vacuum also carried her tea making facilities and she went to the crew members on the bridge, starting with Lt JG Cross

“Dearie me. Dearie Dearie me. Dearie Dearie Dearie me. Dearie Dearie Dearie Dearie me. Dearie Dearie Dearie Dearie Dearie me. It sounds like you’ve all got a bit of a pickle here. Now, dears with your pickles would you like a tea or coffee? I think that tea is better for you, but I know you Starfleet officer types sometimes prefer your coffee. Why, take Rujo in Engineering, the poor dear drinks coffee almost non stop, and Main Engineering is littered with the empty cups. When I was last dusting down there I said to him, I said Rujo Kiwa, I don’t care if you’re the last Engineer on board, or the last Engineer in Starfleet, all that coffee can’t be good for you. I said that to him dears, and what did he do? He just told me to mind my own business and dropped another empty cup on top of the ones already there. If he’s not careful, he’ll form a new lifeform down there in Engineering.”

Peter stared at the woman with astonishment for a moment and then blinked. Had he entered a madhouse without knowing it? He had heard rumors about the crew of the Constellation but he hadn’t credited them with much substance.

Sadie made a coffee as she spoke, looked Peter up and down, and said, “no sugar for you, dear. And, of course, you’ll take milk with your coffee, won’t you?”

“Ah no, thank you…”Peter said politely.

She opened the portable fridge in her trolley and pulled out a milk container from it. The milk plopped out in a most un-milk fashion and she handed it over to Peter.

“I haven’t seen you around before, have I dear? I’m Sadie and I’m the Cleaning and Tea Lady. I keep the ship spic and span so you can all go ahead and do what you do without the villainy of scum on the main viewer. You wouldn’t want to mistake a patch of grime on the main viewer for a black hole, now would you? Or a real live black hole for grime on the viewer, would you? That would be a big problem. Oh dearie me. Dearie Dearie me. Dearie Dearie Dearie me. Dearie Dearie Dearie Dearie me. …”

-Sadie, the Cleaning & Tea Lady

“Ah…nice to meet you, Sadie. I’m Peter Cross…” Peter blinked again before he snapped his attention back to his panel. A carnival and a batty, old cleaning lady, had he fallen down the rabbit hole?

Cross Sec

During this entire time, Amze had been half asleep, but as the cleaning lady passed by her, she quickly shot wide awake, “WHAT MUTINY? I DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT A POISONED SCONE.” When she noticed that she was not being questioned by anyone, she quickly cleared her throat, hoping that no one made the connection between the fact that the Captain was missing, and today was scone day. She quickly waved her hand, “Sure, take us in or whatever, it will be a good distraction until Kron can hide the evidence… I mean until he can finish his dance.”

Amze Ezma (XO)

Rabbit hole, indeed. Cross thought as he stared at the XO dumbfounded for a second then shaking his head returned his attention to his boards. “Perhaps, Commander we should get science to do a thorough scan of the area to find out what they are doing.” He dared to suggest. He himself began a security scan of said ships that were in the immediate vicinity. They shouldn’t just waltz in, what if it was trap? His security instinct warred with his curiousity.

Cross Sec

Pilar stared at the XO for moment. She had not made the connection but found it odd she was having such a dream. Everything and everyone she encountered since she joined the ship had been strange. She nodded at Cross’ idea. “Commander I think a scan, as Cross suggested, would be wise. I can initiate it.”

Halcyone- CSO

The doors to the turbolift whooshed open with Jalel and a small child next to him. He knelt down to a knee “you remember how to get home don’t you?” The little girl nodded “yes Papa.” “Good.” He smiled “go take care of your mother til I get back.” The doors closed as Jalel stepped onto the bridge. “Lieutenant Davis reporting for duty.”

Davis, CTO

Sadi passed the CTO on her way to the turbolift, “dear, is it REALLY appropriate for you to have that music AND those images playing non-stop in your office? I like streaking as much as anything … but really, leave it to me.”

And before he could respond, Sadi was past him and into the turbolift.
-Sadi

Amze rolled her eyes, “Yes yes, a scan would be fine.” She started to tap her fingers on the chair she sat on, “And if there is anything dangerous down there, we should definitely investigate, as soon as possible, with the Captain in the front of the group.”

Amze Ezma (XO)

Pilar sat there and tried to taken Sadi had said. Her face furrowed on a confused from then she nodded at the XO’s confirmation and began the scan as she watched the woman disappear into the turbolift. “Uh…If you don’t mind…Commander, I would like t ok make a request to join the away team....if the scan picks up anything substantial. She was tapping on the screen as she spoke.

Halcyone- CSO

With the Captain in the front of the group? Cross gulped as he cast a nervous glance toward the XO. He was certain that the XO was aware of the regulations so he quashed the instinct to remind her of them. His gaze returned to his console as he kept an eye on all the various ships and their weapons/shield statuses.

Cross Sec

At this moment the sensors came alive, it showed what appeared to be energy buildups on the starboard side of the ‘station’. The buildups shot energy into the area that was marked off with warning bouy’s. The result of the energy created explosions that appeared in multi colored shapes. The sight itself was quite beautiful.

GM

Amze found herself mezmorized by the bright lights before shaking herself out of her stupor, “I see no harm in a few explosions. As long as we find a place to send an away team, I am sure that nothing could possibly go wrong, especially with our fearless Captain leading the way.”

Amze Ezma (XO)

Cross scanned the area of the colorful light display to be on the safe side. They could easily just be a light show, but could be something else.

Cross Sec

Pilar looked at the XO, confused then at Cross. Explosions were not a good thing....usually. For the first time she thought it was possible she could actually die on this starship. “Actually…everything could go wrong. We need to determine the source of these explosions and the threat level. “Commander....we need to prepare for an attack. Have we made contact with anyone at the station?” Pilar asked nervously.

Halycone- CSO

“They are fireworks, entertainment for us” Ridge quipped coming around the front of the helm with a spanner in his hand. Apparently he had been there working. It really was easy to lose track of the Chief Operations Officer.

Lt Ridge Parvenu

The sensor consoles would show reading that would confirm that there was no hostile threat or danger from the explosions. While brilliant in light the sensors would show that there was almost no damage potential from the light show.

The computer suddenly spoke =/\= Gold star for Lieutenant Parvenu for his accurate assessment of the situation with absolutely no scientific information to base his assessment on. =/\=

The helm officer turned to the new Captain who had entered, “Captain are we cleared to proceed with docking sir?”

GM

Amze waved at the helm officer, “Um… I am still in the seat. How do we know that this isn’t an evil clone of the Captain, or a cleverly disguised mass of tribbles here to eat our ship whole. Until he can prove his identity, we cannot give him any command decisions.” She nodded, “As for docking, just try to avoid the explosions and bring us close enough for beaming safely.”

Amze Ezma (XO)

After reading his boards, Cross nodded.”It would appear that Lt. Parvenu is correct, sir. It would appear that the explosions are meant more their light effect then their danger.”

Cross Sec

The docking flight path was available and ready for the helmsman, The helmsman began moving his hand around the console maneuvering the vessel into the docking positions.

GM

Jalel kept his eyes on the viewscreen “watch out for the scary docking ports sticking out like that. Check your speed helmsman.”

Davis, CTO

The Helmsman loudly spoke “sure sure, whatever” At this moment the computer chirped =/\= Inertial dampers deactivated, have a good ride” Every movment of the ship was felt in every section of the ship, this began wildly flying around. The helmsman began sweating and docked the vessel which jarred everyone aboard. He announced “We are docked” The helmsman stood up and turned around “Sir permission to be dismissed, I believe I need a change of uniform”

The comm chirped and a alien wearing paint on his face, a white base, red lips and cheeks with a flashing globe nose attached appeared on the screen “WELCOME TO THE GREATEST SHOW IN THE UNIVERSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

GM

Cross had been knocked off his feet after that sudden ride and was staring at the screen as he climbed back up. He wondered if he was actually in a nightmare and hadn’t woken up.

Cross Sec

After that brief stall, he regained his footing and saw the downed ensign. “Ensign go get checked out in sickbay to be on the safe side.”

Davis, CTO

Pierce entered the bridge, a little shaken herself. “Who the heck turned off the inertial dampeners?” she demanded, frowning. “We have them for a reason! And I’ll remember that reason as soon as the floor stops shaking!” The engines, after all, were still at idle.

-Pierce, COS

“No idea, sir. You might ask helm. It was a rather rough parking job.” Cross said with a grin. “Are we going to send in a security presence, Lieutenant?” He was rather keen and curious to see what this place was a bout and to be honest he wasn’t sure he trusted this friendly image.

Cross Sec

She looked at the viewscreen. “Oh for the love of cherry pie, it’s a clown. Don’t let my daughter see this.” She turned to the Captain, and to the tactical officer. “I don’t suppose quantum torpedoes are an option here?”

-Pierce

Amze shook her head, “Unless the Captain is on that station I don’t want to risk it. After all, who knows what horrors await us. Maybe even… BALLOONS!!!!” Although she was being sarcastic, one of the officers on the bridge yelped and hid behind his chair.

Amze Ezma (XO)

Pilar looked at the XO with fear in her eyes. She was actually scared of ballons. Those rubber bags full of air terrified her especially when they popped.
“Um…do you think they will actally be balloons?” She said as she slowly eased up from her chair.

Halycone

Ridge blinked and looked at the others, what were the talking about, the room had finally stopped its slight tilt spin finally. As for the Dampeners. “That’s what happens when the Engineering staff gets shanghaied into command, and no one is in Engineering at the right time.”

“Constance please run a level 3 Diagnostic on the Internal Dampeners, after you turn them back on” Ridge stated as if addressing another officer, not the Computer. That was Ridge caught a glimpse of the Clown, “great it is a circus” he muttered to himself, pulling his flask and taking a swig.

“Yes dear, came the response from the Computer itself.”

Ensign Constance Marie Parvenu, SHIPs AI,
Lieutenant Leighton Ridge Parvenu, Chief Operations Officer, Second Officer, USS Constellation

The docking clamps engaged and the ship status turned blue indicating that they were docked.

GM

“We’re docked. Let’s split up and see what this station is all about. With the Commander’s permission.”

Davis, CTO

A security Ensign spoke up meekly “Umm.... Excuse me, sir’s..... There are three records of Star Fleet Encounters with this....... Entity, they all reported that this was a great place for R&R second only to risa sir....”

GM

Kat cringed. “Oh Gods, Risa. Don’t even talk to me about Risa!”

-Pierce

Jalel huffed “Pierce, Risa is where I was born. I take offense to your outburst about Risa.”

Davis, CTO
