After passing his Medical check in , Peter whistled to himself as he headed down the corridor toward the CNS’s office. Reaching the door, he paused and waited for it to announce his presence to the Counselor within. He really didn’t have any trouble with these psych evals. He was a very self confident person and had a warm, affable personality. The only character flaw, if one could call it that, was he was not a very introspective person as he was very much one of action.

Ashley was sat at her desk working on and old wind up clock made of small brass gears and cogs. She had been given it by her father many years when she was recovering from her back injury and had never got around to finishing building it. When the door chime rang it made her jump as she was focused on what she was doing. She looked towards the door and shouted “Enter.” Then placed a cog into its pin.

Ashley (CNS)

Cross entered the CNS’ office and noted her bending over and working with what looked like an antique clock, his eyebrows rose in interest as he watched her for a few moments without speaking. He didn’t wish to disturb her delicate work. Finally he said softly,
“My apologies for disturbing you, Counselor. That looks like delicate work.” He said indicating the clock and scattered pieces.

Ashley finished placing the cog on the clock then looked up at him. “No your not disturbing me. This was a gift off my father when I was trapped to a bio bed for far to long. I have been meaning to finish it for years but never got around to it.” She slides the tray with the bits on to one side and picked up a padd.

“Now how may I help you?” Ashley asked with a smile.

Ashley (CNS)

Cross smiled engagingly, “I am here for my psych check in, Counselor. Peter Cross, Security, I am a recent transfer from the Ogawa. ” He took the seat nearest her desk and studied the clock curiously.

OOC: Sorry I missed this. Things have been a bit busy of late.

IC: Ashley gave a smile. “Well you have come to the right place.” She takes out a pad from her desk then looks up at him. “How are you settling in?”

Ashley (CNS)

“I am …settling in quite well, Counselor. On my part at least.” Cross said as he leaned his long frame into the chair in front of the Counselor’s desk and folded his hands together in his lap.”I am finding the ship and crew…a bit odd though. Would you happen to know what accounts for that, Counselor?” Crossed asked thinking that if anyone would know the Counselor would.

Ashley looked up at him and smile. “Every ship has its quarks. Odd is a vague term and I have not been here long myself so I am still finding my feet if you would.” She sits back in her chair and smiled. “It maybe command putting all the odd balls into one ship or something like that, I was once on a Marine transport where the entire crew was call Jenkins. I kid you not. Every single person on crew had the last name Jenkins. All 25 of them. I wouldn’t worry about it unless you have an issue then come and tell me about it.”

Ashley (CNS)

“Oookay.” Cross said slowly as he tried to envision an entire ship with the name of Jenkins.”Is Command really that…umm arbitrary?”
