Khavo. It was already an idiosyncratic name. Vulcan? Klingon? Maybe even Andorian? Try Jelna. A race of socially ambiguous creatures whose mental capabilities far surpassed their ability to talk civilly with one another. Tribal and almost animalistic in appearance, vibrant tattoos ethed into silver skin; thick hair stung with a myriad of vibrant beads, they were creatures worthy of fascination, but perhaps not fear.
Few Jelna found themselves taking up positions in Starfleet, their devotion to their family and culture often times overriding their desire to see the universe. However, Khavo had never been as so inclined to remain with the industries of her people, her mind far too curious for their established trade routes and prominent commerce posts. She desired more than discussing the evolution of technology, she wanted to see the evolution, build the pieces it took to advance their technology. Alas, her family found that trait laughable, and Khavo’s dreams were dampened by her inescapable reality.
Now, as she stepped from the hangar of a shuttle and onto the busy shuttlebay deck of the Constellation, she found those silly dreams had finally come to reach a purpose. At least one beyond the images dancing in her head when tired eyes finally gave in to the manipulation of sleep. Taking in her surroundings, she released a soft breath, tossing her Kit over her shoulder, barely even registering its slap against the mid of her back.
Heels clicking softly against the hard floor beneath her, the rattle of her beads adding to the cacophony of noises the ship produced, without the additional ensamble of its crew, Khavo made her way towards the doors, a crooked grin hiding somewhere beneath those obsidian tattoos and head full of stringy hair woven through beads. She didn’t speak much, not even in her thoughts, for Khavo was a rather quiet person, or so she liked people to believe.
