Aaron was eager to get started on the Constellation and get a general idea of the state of things. Of course, he couldn’t do that unless the CO marked him as “aboard” which was, coincidentally or not, where he was headed. He stopped and press the chime, smoothing out a non-existent wrinkle in his uniform. He wanted to look presentable, after all.

Aaron Michaels

Sitting behind his desk wearing a freshly pressed red command uniform the Human male spoke. “Enter” came to the single polite word directed to whoever stood on the opposite side of the closed door. Upon entering the captain’s ready room the new Chief Engineer would observe a multitude of open and closed cases. The captain was in the middle of unpacking.

Captain Chris Johnson, CO

“Oh…I can come back later, sir.” Aaron said, gesturing to the current state of things. He hadn’t meant to totally interrupt the CO in unpacking, he was just eager to get to work quickly.

Aaron Mchaels

“Ahh Lieutenant welcome aboard do come in” spoke the captain in a polite manner placing a pile of PaDDs down onto his desk and rising to his feet “Please take a seat, I trust your journey here went well” he enquired gesturing for the new Chief Engineer to take a seat using with his left hand.

Captain Chris Johnson, CO

Aaron nodded and took a seat, “it did, sir, yes. I see you probably arrived not long before I did.”

Aaron Michaels

“That is correct” I have not been on board long at all hence the multitude of boxes” he spoke in a kind manner sitting back down behind his desk. Tapping his console the newly promoted commanding officer began to access the chief engineers starfleet record. “So Aaron tell me a little about yourself and your time in starfleet” he began by saying in a polite manner.

Captain Chris Johnson, CO

“Not a whole lot to say. I ended up in a warzone for the first part of my career, then I transferred here at request of my husband, who wanted me out of a direct warzone.” Aaron rolled his eyes a little, “that man cares a little too much.”

Aaron Michaels

“Ahh I see so you have seen combat numerous times in your career” he began by saying intruiged by the Chief Engineers past in star-fleet. “Is your husband in starfleet” he went on to inquire.

Captain Chris Johnson, CO

“He’s not. He started to go to Daystrom, but had to drop out because his mother was dying. He’s remained planet-side since.” Aaron said, nodding, “I miss him a lot, but I deal with it.”

Aaron Michaels

“Ahh right I see” he bagan by saying before speaking once again following a short breath. “How long have you been married?” he asked in an inquisitive manner. “That is if you dont mind me asking” he concluded by saying.

Captain Chris Johnson, CO

“Eight years now. We’ve been together 10 though, we met in high school and have been together since. That man is the best thing that ever happened to me.” Aaron’s eyes shone with love for his husband, “we often video call late into the night when I should be sleeping.” He chuckled, “his fault, not mine.”

Aaron Michaels

“How sweet,” he began by saying before giggling in response to the Chief engineers comment about the late night video calling. “Can I get you a drink” he moved on to ask realising that he did not ask when the Chief Engineer first arrived.

Captain Christopher Johnson, CO

“No, thank you.” Aaron said, “I’m alright, I’ll probably settle in with some wine while calling my husband tonight.”

Aaron Michaels

Nodding he spoke in response “No worries, please tell me a little about your previous posting before been assigned as CE on the Constellation.” he asked in a simple yet professional manner.

Captain Christopher Johnson, CO

“War zone, so I had a lot of work on fixing the same spot over and over.” Aaron laughed.

Aaron Michaels

“Thats part and parcel of the job sadly” he began by saying concluding with a gracious smile and a short laugh. “Now tell me chief engineer” what can you do about this proposterously laid out ready room?” he enquired in a humerous yet serious manner.

Johnson, CO

Aaron looked around, ‘hmm’ing a little bit. “Well, for one, I’ll put a couple more lights in here, it’s dim. I can widen that window, though that’s something I’d prefer to do in port. And I can have the furniture moved around. And those are the things I can do quickly.”

Aaron Michaels

“Now that Mr Michaels sounds like one hell of a plan” spoke the commanding officer in both an intrigued yet excited manner. “Any chance we can get a bar installed in that corner,” he said chuckling as he pointed to a vacant spot in the left corner of the standard sized federation ready room.

Johnson, CO

Aaron walked over, inspecting the corner. “Not a full sized one, but I can get you something here.”

Aaron Michaels, CE

“Excellent, Chief Engineer” he began by saying before speaking once again “How long would this take if I were to approve such changes.” he inquired.

Captain Christopher Johnson
Commanding Officer

“Getting on it immediately, I’d say no longer than a week, maybe week and a half to account for any potential problems we may have.” Aaron said, rubbing his forehead a little.
