“OK, let’s get started,” Harry replied. He took out a tricorder and began scanning James with the scanner unit of the tricorder which hummed and whistled in its usual fashion as it took all manner of measurements from the CSO including heartrate, blood pressure, blood glucose levels, lung capacity and retnax prescription to mention just a few.

“How have you been feeling?” the doctor asked as he studied the readings on the display unit.

-Harry

James slightly stretched himself in his seat “I’ve been a bit stiff, spent the last four years teaching on Vulcan, those students don’t really like it when you stand at ease. I’ve had to have several deep tissue massages in that time. Hopefully being back with Starfleet means I can relax a wee bit” The scans showed a fairly healthy individual, there was a slight change compared to his last official Starfleet exam little over four years ago. He’d lost some weight and seemed to have been eating much more healthily. He had been forgoing his Retnax in favor of wearing glasses for the past year but nothing too severe.

CSO

“How did you find the vegetarian diet on Vulcan?” Harry asked out of genuine curiosity. It was the biggest complaint of humans working on Vulcan.

-Harry

James shrugged “It certainly helped me lose some weight. Although the Human embassy had a very nice meaty meal at the end of Each month and during holidays. I think the vegetables were less of a problem than the lack of taste. Vulcans are not known for their love of flavour. There was a big market for spice for the human population. Despite that it’s a wonderful place to spend some good academic time.”

CSO

“Vulcans are not known for their love of anything,” Harry smiled, “Even choosing a sexual partner is any extemely drawn out and… logical matter for them.”

-Harry

“Yer right there, saw about a dozen or so Vulcan weddings, children of diplomats and such. You’d never believe how very emotional it all is, under that veil of logic the pointies hide behind” He said sardonically “At least it makes for interesting stories.”

CSO

“But are the stories fun?” Harry asked.

-Harry

James took a moment to consider “Not particularly, the only fun stories were the series of untraceable pranks I was accused of during my years there” He gave the doctor an innocent smile “Of course they could never prove anything so nothing came of it.”

CSO

Harry smiled at the remark. “Ofcourse pranks are such illogical things,” he laughed. The young doctor looked down at this display to check the readings from the tricorder…
