Lost in thought, Cross made his way out of the turbolift on deck 1 and instead of entering the bridge he bypassed it to reach the XO’s office. Straightening his uniform, he looked up as he pressed the chime announcing his presence.

Cross Sec

Aaron was currently neck deep in paperwork, partially admiring how he looked in red. He had put his coffee, cold at this point, up to his mouth when the chime rang. “Come!” He said, putting his coffee down, and managing to keep the irritation out of his voice.

Aaron Michaels, XO

Cross heard the clipped nature of the XO’s voice as the doors whooshed open and he stepped in. He noted the abundance of padds on the XO’s desk and realized the new XO was attempting to catch himself up on his new position and probably did not appreciate this interruption. Cross quickly ran through the report in his mind to be able to present it more succinctly.
“Commander.” He said in greeting as he came to rest before the XO’s desk, hands behind his back at parade rest.

Cross Sec

“At ease, Lieutenant.” Aaron said calmly, “please, have a seat.” He said, quickly gesturing to the seats in front of his desk.

Cross nodded once as he quickly folded his long, lanky body into one of the chairs in front of the Commander’s desk.”I wanted to give you a verbal report, sir of a serious incident we just had with two youngsters on the ship. There was no malicious intent on their part just ill advised judgement. Du’Ralle, a Klingon youth of one of our Klingon officers on board and Ryalla, daughter of Lieutenant Bradford, Engineer. I am sorry, sir. I haven’t had time to find out who Du’Ralle is the son of. ” He took a deep breath. He hadn’t realized how long this would take to tell.
“Anyway, they were participating in a holodeck program of which they had hacked into the system and taken off the safeties. Du’Ralle was seriously hurt and is currently in sickbay, undergoing surgery I would assume. I got the story from Ryalla about what had taken place. I ordered Engineering to see how they accomplished what they did and be sure the safeties cannot be removed again. I also gave Miss Ryalla a serious talking too and released her into the custody of her father. I was very concerned about her father’s lazy attitude to his daughter’s actions and am worried that she will not receive either the discipline or support she requires. I have been considering speaking with the Counselor and getting him involved.”

Cross Sec

Aaron blinked. He wasn’t sure how to approach this. “Will the Klingon boy live? I don’t feel like having to explain to the Diplomatics corp why we have an intergalactic incident because of two teens.”

“I am not sure of his status, sir. The CMO had him beamed to sickbay immediately. I could check on his status if you liked.” Cross said. He had been so busy dealing with Ryalla and her father that he had just left the doctoring to the Med staff.

He rubbed his temples briefly. “Talk to the counselor. I want to make sure something like this never happens again.” As he spoke, little flakes of glitter floated down off of the ceiling to perch in his hair.

Cross was distracted by the glitter and looked up in confusion as he answered,”Aye sir. I’ll head over to the brief the Counselor right away. I am still concerned about Bradford’s reaction to this. He didn’t seem to see this as anything but a teen prank and didn’t appear to take it seriously at all. A distressing attitude I thought of a father who’s daughter was involved in something this dangerous. I found it a rather strange attitude for an officer as well. Starfleet training is usually more stringant then that.”

Cross Sec

“I know. And I’ll be having a word with him myself. I don’t care what standing he may have in Starfleet, the fact that this happened…It should not have happened.” Aaron said, looking up at the ceiling. “Now why would they glue glitter to the ceiling…”
