Tam finished with the meeting with the captain as he took the lift from the bridge to the main medical on deck 12. As the lift came to a stop as the doors opened he exited to a rather bustling corridor as he calmly and carefully made his way to sickbay as he closed on the doors they opened for him to enter as he moved to the waiting room and signed in for his eval and meeting with his new Senior staff member. As he sat in the nicely decorated waiting area. As he waited to be called upon. He was glad he had not more circus acts to deal with as he waited quietly.

Ensign Tam S Winters - Jo Doctor

A Vulcan NE nurse called out Tams name. “Tam Winters. Tam Winters?”

“Ah. Doctor Gong’da will see you now. Have a seat on biobed 5.”

Once at the biobed a very short Ferengi appeared. “My good man it is very nice to meet you. We are short on doctors and no that is not a pun. I am sorry that I could not have met you when you arrived but I was in surgery.”

“How have you been since your last physical?” He said as he grabbed the medical tricorder out of its resting place and began to scan Dr. Winters.

Gong’da CMO

He waited on introducing himself to the Vulcan as he got a short surprise of a little Ferengi nurse. “Well hello there! All he could do is smile at the Ferengi officer. “Nice to meet you. Never late than ever as he took a seat down on the biobed 5. “I am Tam Winters you’re soon to be the new Doctor here a low-end doctor but a doctor.” As he talked to the officer before they left too. With no other commented he waited for the doctor to come over. As the doctor began to scan him. “Well, All has been good so far .” Tam said calmly to the officer. “No problems to report at this time. Doctor!” Tam said as he took a look around the sickbay as he sat there.” A very functional space.”

Ensign Tam Winters - JO Doctor

OOC: Doctor Gong’da is doing your evaluation. Not a nurse.

IC: Laughing and showing his razor sharp teeth the tricorder beeped telling him that the scan was complete. “Very well Doctor Winters. You are good to go. Do you want to talk more in my office?”

Gong’da CMO

Tam returned the smile “Sure doctor!” as he followed the officer to there office. As he tried to get a lay for his new surroundings. Tam tried to stay friendly to the Ferengi even though he was not a fan of closed mined races. “Um Where are my duties lie here in main sickbay or one of the other backup sickbays?” he asked calmly to the Doctor as he took a seat where ever the doctor dictates.

“Have a seat there please. This chair is made for me as you can see. I have a hard time getting into Hew-mon chairs.”

“You will be mainly here in the main sickbay. But I might make you the assistant CMO and make you head of one of the alternate bays. But I need to see you in action first. I like what I read about you but Hew-Mons tend to fluff up things. I hope you can understand. But your office is actually the entire ship. We where we are needed as you know. So you will carry a medical bag with you at all times when not in sickbay. We do have lockers with equipment stashed about the ship if you need anything though.”

He leaned in closer showing his razor sharp teeth again in a crude smile. “So I bet you are chomping at the bit right now to really know what I’m thinking.” He sat back in his chair again.

“I will never lie to you. I will always tell you the truth and what I know about the given situation. I do not. Let me repeat that to make it very, very clear. I do not approve of you reading people’s minds because you can. Unlike 99% of the ship, I am immune to your parlor tricks. You can use your gift in emergencies or when a patient is unable to communicate their problems. I will have you kicked out of my department and scrubbing pans if I find out you violated someone’s private thoughts. Is that clear doctor?”

“Good. (If not then I’ll change it) Now please tell me your specialties. So I can better utilize you. I am a trauma surgeon and heart surgeon by trade. There will be times that I will bow down to your skills because they are better than mine in certain areas. I expect the same in return.”

“We will also do training to keep current in our field and also train to learn new things and new procedures. We frequently and I cannot stress enough, we frequently find ourselves performing our trade more often than not in emergency situations. Hence the bag you carry. Practice and brush up on perishable skills my good doctor. Because literally everyone’s lives depend on it.”

Tam waited calmly till the doctor was finished with his rant and his concerns. “I am open and flexible on any assignment doctor. I will help anywhere I am needed. Doctor!” Tam said with a straight face. “As for my mental powers, I don’t use them unless needed and I don’t use them without asking before proceeding normally.” Tam continued on.

“Mostly my powers are in passive mode, just surface impressions as I go by them nothing is gathered from them other then their feelings like if there happy or sad scared or any other simple tap of the minds would. theses are as an example is all. I do try to use other techniques to judge there conditions like facial expressions and mannerisms their tone of voice or other avenues to help me. And nothing in detail like most betazoids. But sometimes I do get the impressions wrong. And sometimes it can be rather funny experiences. from funny looks on there faces or I got the message wrong. Of course, unless asked to do a deeper scan by the patient or ordered to do so by my superiors. Even with a minor objection for the record.” Tam said quickly as he continued.

” But I do admit there are a few rotten apples out there that use their powers for ill-gotten gains. that be for personal gain or profit etc. And of course, I am a humanoid being and not a human there is no human DNA in my bloodline that I am aware of. But if there is nothing wrong with that either I try not to be prejudice in any form. Even to closed-minded races. That won’t mean I won’t be polite and courteous to them all.” as he did not mention the races. “After all we all are part of this lovely universe and all are compatible to some degree.” Tam said quickly to the officer. “And if I did do something wrong. I do expect to be corrected or reprimanded its the senior staff’s choice. If you cut me out of the unit and medical section entirely that’s also your choice but I would hope that would be at least a last resort deal. Sir!” Tam said calmly still to the officer.

“As for my skills, I do have field medic training early on plus CPR and general first aid, etc. I am a General Surgeon and Plastic Surgery expert. to deal with the assignment that requires covert missions. Duck blinds etc.” Tam said calmly to the doctor. Also, I have some counseling training at the University of Betazed and a refresher at Star Fleet Academy and Counseling schools. Along with stronger mental disciplines from Vulcan Mental Academy offensive and defensive. Plus better emotional control. Doctor!” Tam said calmly to the officer.

“I can give you a rundown on other areas of training I have had in other training areas from basic emergency operational procedures of repairing of small equipment and biobeds and computers.etc. basic hand to hand combat along with betazoid martial arts. unarmed and armed. from archaic to newer weapons.” Tam said calmly. “If there is anything else you care to know just ask.” Tam said as he fell quiet to let the doctor to digest the new information. Tam wanted to say more but he did not want the little Ferengi’s brain to explode with all the new information.
