Emily moved over to Aaron and sighed “I think we’re in the Looking Glass…the characters seem so familiar to the childhood tale I read....We need to be cautious, but that is my supposition.”

Gong’da came running back to the XO panting as his little legs moved fast. “Commander! Commander! The Captain is gone! Completely gone!” He turned and pointed towards the two rotund beings. “They! They took him! Those fat bastards took the Captain away and they won’t tell me!”

James turned to the doctor the looked in the direction the Rabbit ran of too “Leftenant Bradford is correct, this appears to be a recreation of the Lewis Carroll novels, if we follow the Rabbit we’ll be led to the queen’s court and likely have our heads removed” He said calmly, not alarmed by the disappearance of their captain, at least not outwardly “Whatever brought us here wants us to play a game, now I haven’t read that book since I was a child so my memory of it isn’t great” He turned to the hatter “that one will only speak in riddles and those two are too dimwitted to give any answers. I suggest we think of this as a holostory, finish the book and we might gain some insight.” He turned back around full circle to face his crewmates with a crooked smile

“Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!”

He said in a tone of slight amusement “We follow the story we might find the Captain”

Gong’da turned around slowly and faced the CSO. “What? What are you talking about? You Hew-Mons do acid or other drugs before you write books? I’m not following a rabbit or a top hat, not with my feet, not with my shoes. Not with my mind and not if I choose.”

“Well, I’ll let you lead the way,” Byr said to James and Aaron “I definitely need to become more familiar in earthen literature,” he pondered out loud. “This is definitely strange for a story to have characters such as this. What are their point?” he asked the humans in the group.

Aaron groaned. He couldn’t believe this. “So we’re trapped in a centuries old children’s book. Yay.” He said, deadpan. “Fine. Bradford, you’re the one of us who’s most familiar with this, where do we start?”

Aaron Michaels, aCO

James looked at the Chief Engineer as well but not before shooting the Ferengi a queer look “I think when this is all done I’ll introduce you to some quality literature and to answer your question no not all of them but this particular story, probably. If I recall correctly it had something to do with the writers dislike of then-modern mathematics. It’s actually a very interesting subject”

CSO

“So that rabbit has all the answers we need?” Hegush frowned, wondering what would possess an author to write a rabbit as an important role in a novel. Humans certainly had a strange taste in what they called ‘quality’ literature. “Why don’t we catch it? It’s already late for… something, so it won’t matter if we hold it up for a little longer.”

Hegush Falz

Emily looked at Aaron “Basically the entire story is about craziness.” She said “Alice, I’m sure that we’re going to end up running into her at some point. Then we have the Red Queen, she’s not a nice person.” Emily said “And the Jabberwok, well…let’s hope we don’t run into him.” She added “The Mad Hatter, he knows so much more than he says, you just have to figure out his riddles.” She said “I doubt the food is poisoned or laced with anything.” She said “However, I am curious as to why we’re here.”

Emily looked at the Hatter and the Tweedledum and Tweedledee “Where did you take our Captain, you three?” She asked in a riddle of sorts.

The Hatter ran up to Emily “You....you understand me?” He jumped up and down happily “Your Captain is around the tree and back two or three.” He said “However, to get to him, you must free yourself from me.” He looked at Aaron and the others “You’ll find all your answers here or there or everywhere. But first tea you must drink, and cake you must eat.”

Behind the crew, they each felt hands shoving them toward the table and a loud purr coming from a branch “Its easier to just cooperate, we are being polite.”
