Tam left the medical area a bit lost for words still as he tried to keep his calm and moved to the lift and headed back to his cabin. It did not take long to get back to his room as he started the long task of getting settled in. “Computer light calming music please.” as Tam simplified things for a quicker response as the computer beeped at the request as light soft music started playing throughout his quarters as he opened one of the cargo containers to pull out smaller cases that had some picture frames of his family as he placed them on his desk and bookcases nearby. He placed the albums on the bookcase on the lower side for later prosing.

He placed the odd padds on the desk in a neat pile to go through later and keep or discard the odd information that was on them if he wished later on. He then went throughout his cabin and placed his little momentos on tables and shelving that he had collected on his time and career in Starfleet and vacations to risa and Pacifica an Atlantica. And other touristic spots of the earth while on break or leave.

By the time he was done, he was rather tired and getting hungry as he thought about adding some curtains to his cabin and maybe talk to the shipmaster and or engineering about maybe installing a small fireplace unit for a more homey touch. He placed a simple Kelly green colored table cloth on the dining area table. and a few candlesticks for a softer touch to the modern look of the cabin. “That’s more like it!” Tam said calmly to himself softly as he listened to the music. He placed the Betazed Chime on the table as a decoration than an item to give thanks.

Tam moved towards the door to his cabin as it opened he exited and headed off towards the main forward lounge. He believed it was on Deck 17/18 as he moved to the turbo lift as the car arrived was empty he quickly entered and turned around. “Deck 17 please.” Tam said quickly as the doors closed behind him as the turbo lift car moved to its new destination. As the doors opened the corridor was busy with all sorts of stuff going from here to there. As he calmly and carefully made his way to the main lounge. As the doors opened to a bustling room with people eating drink and be merry. He tried to find an empty table as he did not see much on the first level as he took the staircase to the upper level he found a table in the corner booth and took a seat as he waited for a waiter or waitress.

A minute later Tam was approached by the waitress. “What can I get you, sir!” Tam thought a long moment before deciding “How about some Chinese food. maybe some potstickers. Sweet and sour chicken. friend rice some steamed vegs that go well with Chinese food. A large pitcher of sweet iced tea.” As the waitress was using her small padd to take the order. “Very good sir I will bring it here as soon as I am done here.” the waitress said with a smile. As she left and took a few more orders and left for the kitchens.

On the table across from Winters, a large Klingon had taken a seat and was currently slurping noisily out of a heavy tankard filled to the brim with bloodwine. When the waitress returned with Tam’s food, the rice dish caught the Klingon’s eye and he leaped to his feet, his chair falling backwards onto the floor behind him.
“Is that gagh?!” he roared, advancing on the waitress with such force that she almost ended up in Winter’s lap in an effort to make her retreat.

Alas, upon reaching the table and obtaining a better look at the selection of dishes, the Connie’s Chief of Security emitted a loud and heartfelt sigh, laden with the kind of sorrow and disappointment that one might expect upon hearing of a death in the family or other such tragic event.

“Ah, I see now that it is only rice,” K’Aleth groaned. Then, settling his large frame into the chair across from Tam, his attention still fixed wholly on the waitress, he continued loudly, “Well I shall have gagh! Fresh and still wriggling!”

  • Lt K’Aleth (CoS)

Tam looked dumbfounded at the Klingon and his unusual response. Before he burst out laughing. After regaining control. “And you are friend?” Tam asked As he thought about it. “Gagh?? oh Klingon food How interesting?” Tam said with a smile. “Welcome. I am Tam Winters! New Junior Officer in Medical.” As he waited to see what was going to happen next. As he looked to the Waitress and back to the massive Klingon.

For a moment, K’Aleth’s attention remained completely on his cup, the bloodwine within it being drained eagerly to the last drop. In fact, Tam might have been forgiven for wondering if the Klingon had even heard his introduction at all.

But, bloodwine fully consumed, K’Aleth finally raised his head and, with a wide grin parting his mouth to display slightly-pointed teeth, he roared, “Hello, Tam Winters, new junior officer in medical! I am also a new officer. To this crew, at least.”

Rising once more to his feet, the Klingon thrust a large and powerful hand in Tam’s direction. “Lt K’Aleth, at your service. Chief of Security and protector of all who serve on this ship!”

  • Lt K’Aleth (CoS)

Tam was not sure what to make of the officer. As he took the massive hand of the Klingon officer and shook it forcefully. “Honor to meet you Lt K’Aleth. Sir!” He said as he continued to share the officer’s hand. “Care for blood wine. Sir?”Tam asked the officer.
