Tam was not sure what to make of the officer. As he took the massive hand of the Klingon officer and shook it forcefully. “Honor to meet you Lt K’Aleth. Sir!” He said as he continued to share the officer’s hand. “Care for blood wine. Sir?”Tam asked the officer.

A wide grin spread across the Klingon’s face at the mention of his favourite drink, especially since his own cup was now drained of said beverage.
“Bloodwine! Yes! Let us make a toast, Tam Winters! To new arrivals and their glorious beginnings!”

At that moment, the waitress returned with K’Aleth’s meal in hand, the dish held with outstretched arm and as far away from her own body as she could get it.
“Your gagh, Sir,” she said flatly, throwing the dish onto the table and making a hasty retreat.

K’Aleth seized the bowl enthusiastically and plunged into the contents with his fist. Withdrawing it again, his hand now filled with what appeared to be an entire colony of writhing, wriggling worms, he held it out to Winters.
“Some gagh for you, my new friend?”

He quickly got an order in for bloodline for his new friend. “Thanks!” as he took a bit of the gagh and ate it without reservation. “Interesting.” Tam said as he felt them wiggle down the throat. as he took a drink and then continued with his meal. Leaving the food for his friend to enjoy.

K’Aleth settled back into his seat and watched the medic closely. It was rare for a non-Klingon to be able to digest Klingon meals, and yet this one seemed almost to be enjoying it. The Security Chief was impressed.

“You are a true warrior, Ensign Tam Winters,” he declared, raising his glass once more in the JO’s honour. “Tell me, where did you serve before the Constellation? Or is this your first posting out of the Academy?”
