The Mouse spoke up “We’ve been here for years, we got here in much the same way we brought you, but there was something different, we were changed.” She squeaked “You will find that things are not what they seem. You will think you’re going mad…mad I tell you.” She squeaked.

Emily put her head in her hands as Gong’da taunted their captors, and that was essentially what they were was captive. She also knew that things could play out very differently than the story, who ever was behind this could create very dangerous situations that might result in additional death or injury to the crew.

Aaron rubbed his face, taking a long moment to think. “Mr Hatter, if I may call you that, I feel it’s more formal than ‘guy in hat’; can you come with us, maybe help us out a bit, and I give you my word as Commanding Officer that your people will also get out of here.” He wasn’t sure what lied ahead, but he didn’t see any weapons on any of his guys, so if things got ugly, it’d be bad.

The Hatter looked at Aaron “And just where are we going my good sir. Everything you need to survive is right here.” He said waving his hand across the table “Well of course had the other gentleman not been taken. I’m sure he’s quite fine somewhere here.” The Hatter said “Whereever here is.” He continued as he shushed the mouse and glanced at the cat that seemed to appear and disappear at will.

Falz finished off his mouthful of food, and looked up. He could hear something in the Captains voice, and he wasn’t sure what it was but he suddenly felt a lot more wary than he had a few minutes ago. The more he listened to the discussions taking place around him the more questions were pinging around in his mind. Especially with what the mouse said about having its form changed. His body might not be very attractive, but he wasn’t so keen on having it changed into any old piece of flora and fauna. So while the Captain tried to negotiate, he discreetly started scanning anybody in his vacinity to see if they were beginning to change and just didn’t know it yet.

Lt. Com. Hegush (XO)
What Hegush would note in his scans was that there seemed to be data fields in various spots giving the impression that this may well be a holo simulation, however, the fields changed randomly and would disappear. The Hatter appeared to be some sort of human, the mouse for all intents and purposes was just that a mouse and the cat, well, he was hard to scan as he kept disappearing and reappearing.

Interesting Hegush thought, the mouse had said that they had once been humanoids, but they came up on the scanners as what they appeared to be. He bit his lip thinking… either the mouse was lying or his scans were blocked. It was possible that the data fields had something to do with it, but they weren’t behaving as an ordinary field would.

Having received the OK from the senior crew, Byr also takes some of the food and tries some of it, but keeping himself calm and alert, he looked to the hatter and everybody speaking, and has also been looking around to get an idea of the area and the local flora.

As the Captain was trying to negotiate with the Hatter, a White Rabbit in a red vest and a pair of spectacles on his nose came running through…”I’m late…Oh…this is never good....the Queen…She’ll have my head on a platter…Must rush off. Hatter keep these people here…don’t need them wandering off and getting hurt now do we.”

The Hatter shook his head “Pay him no mind. We’ll get you through the forest and to the problem quickly.” He said.

James followed the rabbit with his eyes “It might not be a bad idea to follow the rabbit, make contact with the Queen” He looked back at the Captain “Or it might be a terrible idea that removes heads from shoulders” He added quickly.

“I don’t want to split the crew up. But we might need to.” Aaron thought out loud. “Are short range communications working?” He asked no one in particular.

Aaron Michaels, CO

Gong’Da watched the rabbit. “You want me to follow the rabbit since I am his height captain? It will make it easier.” The Ferengi has yet to try or drink a single thing yet.

“Rule number one of any holohorror - go nowhere alone,” Falz said casually from his seat at the table. He took a leasurly bite of the food before him and made eye contact with Michaels “There’s some kind of technology at play here. I’ve run a couple scans. Nothing adds up. Things aren’t what we percieve them to be, but they are, yet even that could be a deception.”

Lt. Com. Hegush (XO)

The Hatter looked at Hegush “You are very correct. Don’t go anywhere alone.” He said “Now that we’ve eaten. I will have Mouse lead you to where you need to go. Don’t stray from the path and don’t trust anything you see.” He said as he began to shoo everyone away from his table “Everyone’s been here too long.” He muttered and wondered if the Queen had figured out that there were new visitors and how she would punish him for telling them secrets.

Mouse

Emily looked at the Captain “I suggest we follow that mouse.” She said “It is probably going to be the only way we figure out where the hell we are and how we’re going to get out of here.” She said “As we go, we should find something to arm ourselves with.” She said

“Well, right now we don’t have much other option,” Byr said as he began following with the rest of the crew. When he saw an opportunity, Byr scanned the mouse with his tricorder while its back was turned to see if he could identify life form or any other information about what’s going on.

Gong”Da grabbed some food and put it in his pockets since he didn’t eat yet and followed the Captain and the mouse.

As they followed the mouse, Aaron kept his eyes out for anything they could use as weapons–even if it was just sticks. “I have a bad feeling about all of this.”

Aaron Michaels, CO

“Well good, because if you felt good about any of this that would raise questions regarding your mental state, sir.” James said in jovial manner.

The mouse shhhshed everyone as they walked “Don’t draw attention to yourself.” She said as she led the way down a path darting in and out of the underbrush. James would find several branches lying on the forest floor that would make appropriate weapons if sharpened. As they continued to move the mouse provided some additional information “Please understand, the Queen does not like intruders into her realm. We came by accident and she changed us. We have been here for four years without hope of rescue. Others have come and been trapped too.” She squeaked “We thought we had found our savior in a little girl, but she too is now trapped. I’ll show you how to get into the palace, there is the equipment that will change us back to ourselves. It is some sort of an emitter.” SHe added “Before, I was an engineer and I have tried to turn it off, but in this form, I have not chance.”

She continued to scurry along and the white rabbit ran by again “Oh dear, I’m late…so very late. Move along, coming through.”
