As the Bridge is losing lights and gravity, so too is the Docking ring, shuttle bays, and other transit operations, bringing the launching or docking of any vessel to a standstill. Luckily there are emergency backups that slam the docking doors shut and securely locking preventing the horrible death of decompression. Crates, personnel and anything not latched down start to rise into the air.

Braxton held his composure and pressed his Comm badge =^=Harris to Ops are you receiving this transmission?=^=

Harris, Security

There is static on the line but the bridge should be able to receive the transmission, though Braxton is floating now, some of his younger collegues are using the opportunity to do somersaults in the air and push off of walls.

Brax yelled at his colleagues “cut it out! This is serious. Help evacuate the area and block it off.” Brax pressed the comm button again =^= Harris to Bridge be advised we’re floating around the docking ring. I’m getting all personnel to evacuate the area. =^=

Ashley had just landed moments before the problems, bringing her bags back from her trip away to see her family. She wasn’t expecting to come back to such chaos though the second she stepped off the ship. Williams abandoned her bag for now and walked over to the Ensign, seeing the chaos she wanted to get up to date. “What happened Ensign? I come back and it seems chaos ensued in my absence.”

Williams, Marine CO

Brax snapped to attention outside of the entrance of the docking ring corridor C “Ma’am we’ve been trying to figure it out. Grav plating in the entire docking ring stopped working. I just evacuated everyone who was in the docking ring either back to their ship or to the promenade. I respectfully request additional backup with your permission Ma’am.”

Ashley clearly didn’t seem like she was fully back, her uniform wasn’t neatly put on and it was obvious she expected to have some down time once in. Alas, she knew that wouldn’t be the lot as she eyed Brax. “Agreed, Kelly should be getting some of the marines and security together but let me gather the rest down here to help, maintain this area for now and lets see if we can get the cavalry in.” Ash said as she reached for her badge.

Harris, Security

Disgruntled, some of the citizens and lower ranking members of the crew made their way to the sheltering places, especially after general quarters was sounded by the bridge. For the most part it was as chaotic as one would expect. The doors wouldn’t open, so they had to be manually overridden, and the moment someone floated into the hallway, the gravity was normal causing the bodies of the bruised and sprained to pile up, right outside of the door. Some of the engineers could get a jefferies tube open through a manual override but faced a similar problem with people getting stuck between two gravity states.

=/\= This is Captain Williams, needing a security alert in the docking rings, marine contingents report as well as security. You will need to navigate through… well carefully.=/\= she said as she looked back to Harris. “We will see who can make it, not sure how much luck but we are all going to need to coordinate with them here, we need to get everyone through safely.

Williams, Marine CO

“Yes Ma’am. What about my Department Head Lieutenant Cabot? She needs to be informed.”

Harris, Security

“One thing at a time.I doubt she is unaware of things but we have to get this place settled first. Lets help people and once we have a grasp on what needs to be done we can try and give out more updates as we go along.”

Kelly had been monitoring the channels to see where issues were and help deploy security and Marines where needed. Hearing the troubles some were having at the thresholds between gravity and lack there of, she tapped the comm to reach out to Williams. =^=Captain, may I recommend grav boots to those crossing the threshold. They can walk to the negative tide and ‘carry’ the individuals to the positive side and set them down. It will help alleviate the shifts that topple most folks over.=^=

=/\= That’s why I pay you the big bucks lieutenant, if you could get the COS up to date as well, I have some of her members here and we will coordinate to get everyone to safety on our end.”

It wasn’t uncommon for Marine training to include grav boot training in case of abandoned stations and ships, or even situations like this where gravity was being tampered with. Having a solid ‘boots on ground’ person help with the transition, while awkward on occasion, was also a bit easier than bodies floating thru doorways and landing in a heap on the floor once past the ‘line’.

“Well Ensign, you heard the suggestion. You know where we have some around here? I think there is supposed to be some near one of the airlocks…” Ashley paused remembering the layout. She had been on the ship for nearly 9 months, long enough to know the basics of the ship but every nook and cranny was not known.
