Teek helped clear the place out till no one was left except her and the man behind the counter. She watched the last one disappear into the promenade en route to their quarters and she paused beside the Marine. “My barkeep and I are going to remain here. We will secure the door and I have a room in back we can hole up in if we need to. But I am not leaving.” She glanced up at the man and shrugged. “Besides, you guys are probably going to be crazy busy, and could use trained eyes in places where uniforms are merely large targets.” She tapped his sleeve to draw his attention to the uniform that marked him as Marine.

“So unless you are going to point a weapon at us and force us away, I’ll let you watch me activate the barrier and be on your way to help the net group of folks.” She smiled as sweetly as she could and hoped he wouldn’t take the ‘at weapon’s point’ route.

The marine grunted something about civilians being recalcitrant but waved his hand none the less and marched off to the next location on the ship, something about about not dying.

In the corner of the club, however, one guest has failed to evacuate. A mousy man in dirty trader rags.

Teek ‘humphed’ as the guy murmured then palmed the panel to lower the security gate. They were more reliable than energy fields and maintained themselves even in power outages. Marcus had long gone to the back to begin setting up the area they were going to be sleeping in, so Teek was alone as she moved to the tables to begin cleaning up. She looked up and sat the man in the corner and a small squeak escaped her lips. “Oh… lords and ladies you shouldn’t scare someone like that.” A frown then lit her features as she stepped towards him, her hands going to her hips like a mother scolding a child. “What are you doing here? You were supposed to evacuate like the others. There’s trouble on the station.” She motioned towards the door. “You shouldn’t be here. Come on, I’ll let you out…” Her normally stone like demeanor had been shaken by the stranger’s presence. She didn’t like being surprised… and certainly NOT in her own establishment.

“I’d rather not,” the man answer honestly as he looks around, “I got a feeling this is all my fault.” He clears his throat a moment then smiles up at Teek warmly, “Sides it is better here than some of the other places I think. If you don’t mind loud music.”

While the man tried to swiftly change the subject, Teek knew better. Crossing her arms, she narrowed her eyes at him like a mother trying to suss out why a child had chocolate on their face, yet profusely announced their innocence. “Soooo.... How is it you think that whatever is going on is ‘your’ fault, exactly?” The small of stature woman was anything but. No one who truly knew her would mistake the 5 foot woman as being an easy target.
