It wasn’t uncommon for Marine training to include grav boot training in case of abandoned stations and ships, or even situations like this where gravity was being tampered with. Having a solid ‘boots on ground’ person help with the transition, while awkward on occasion, was also a bit easier than bodies floating thru doorways and landing in a heap on the floor once past the ‘line’.

Marine“Well Ensign, you heard the suggestion. You know where we have some around here? I think there is supposed to be some near one of the airlocks…” Ashley paused remembering the layout. She had been on the ship for nearly 9 months, long enough to know the basics of the ship but every nook and cranny was not known.

“Yes Ma’am. Right outside of docking port 11. I’m unsure if it’s affected or not Ma’am.”

Kelly didn’t bother to correct the rank. Her and the CO hadn’t spoken much so it wasn’t surprising she wasn’t aware of the voice’s owner. She merely responded then tapped for the bridge. =^= Yes, Ma’am… will notify them at once.=^=
Her next call was to the bridge. =^= Bridge, this is 2nd Lt Pippin… Marine Commander asked me to relay a suggestion of grav boots for those at gravity line thresholds. Carrying folks from negative to positive fields will aid in the transition making casualties less of an issue and speeding up the process.=^= She wasn’t sure if her idea was a sound one, but she remembered how much easier it was to get your feet under you when you weren’t trying to find the direction of ‘down’ at the same time.

Kelly smiled as she heard Harris’ voice. =^=There should be a couple pairs there. See that someone gets them, please. And thank you.=^= While she wasn’t sure how many stations would need them, at least they could start with one place. The boots could be passed to other locations as needed.

Marine“Okay Harris, lets get this people out and we can rendezvous.” Ash said, getting them ready.

Braxton nodded and made his way to Port 11. He wasn’t sure how many were left there. He kept his wits about him as he turned the corner from the entrance.

There were plenty of boots available in the locker, at least for the marines and any security personnel looking for them. Civilians and non-essential personnel just had to make do with what they had,

Braxton had pulled out a pair of boots from the locker along with several other pairs for whoever was trapped here and activated the grav plating on the boots. He remembered doing gravity training from his three years at the Academy. Braxton walking around the docking ports in search of anybody he could find. Braxton had left his Comm Badge open with the Marine Commander. =^= Harris to Captain Williams making my way through the Docking ring.=^=

Kelly kept the comms open and tried to direct and help where needed. Meanwhile, she was busy on a terminal with engineering keeping abreast of the trouble and keeping track of places where ‘anomalies’ were happening.
