TJ walked into sickbay. He hated medical check ups. They seemed to be a waste of time. With all the technology Starfleet had; you’d think that they can transfer assignment to assignment medical records.

The doctor was moving about, her attention bouncing between people like a rabbit unsure of the position of its attacker. Catching sight of the engineer, Odraavi rose her head. “You, come help me real quick. Hold this,” She held three hyposprays for him to carry, her gaze more focussed on the machine she was also trying to push over to another biobed. Doctor or not, Odraavi didn’t really care for this matter.

TJ was not a doctor or a nurse. ~Alrighty then. Not what I signed up for.~ He held on the hyposprays. Maybe, she’d notice he needed his medical update before he’d leave.

Pushing the device over, she turned her back from the man, whose name remained unknown to her, quickly recalibrating the machine for the Andorian patient who laid on the bed. Returning to him, a few seconds later, “May I have that back?” She inquired, gesturing for the hypospray she had given him to hold for that moment.

“If I said no, would you be mad?” TJ replied handling over the hypos. Not that he wanted them anyway.

“Maybe a bit agitated, but not mad.” Nisihe smiled at him, taking the hypos, where she called another doctor over.

“Sorry about this,” She hummed. “Do you have a name?”

Dr. Odraavi

Now she asked about him. That’s nice way of saying welcome, here do something not in your field. “TJ Rivers engineer. I just arrived.”

Rivers-Eng

“You’re all set, Danverns.” She clapped the young Bolian man on the shouldee, before turning to Rivers. “Doctor Odraavi, a pleasure to meer you, Rivers.” She offered a hand, “Sorry for the foul welcome. I’m assuming you need a physical?”

Dr. Odraavi

“Yup, that’s a good assessment.”TJ responded. “Not that I enjoy being in these places.”

Rivers-Eng

bump

“Part of the time, I doubt even some doctors enjoy being here. Have a seat, Ensign.” Odraavi gestured.

Dr. Odraavi

TJ had a seat. At least this doctor had some sort of a sense of humour. “Don’t blame them.”

Rivers-Eng

“Nor do I,” She grinned. Taking leave for a few seconds, she soon returned with a medical tricorder. Humming to herself, she turned to him. “So, tell me. What brings you to our humbke abode?” Odraavi inquired, running a quick scan.

Odraavi

TJ didn’t really like the reason he was here. “Engineering R and D likes to get the inventors out into the real world as they said.”

Rivers-Eng

“I see. Magellan is certainly one way to ‘get out into the real world,’” She hummed, a small smirk remaining upon her lips. “Any plans for your career, Lieutenant?” She inquired, checking the scan.

TJ usually avoided this question. It was clear that the back pages of his file was shielded from her. That might be a good thing. But, she seemed nice enough. “I threw those away awhile ago. I just want to do my job well. Did you say Lieutenant? When did that happen?”

OOC: Assuming that is what the time says,.
IC:
“That is what your file says: Lt. (junior grade) Rivers.” Odraavi hummed, turning the PaDD to him, so he could see what she was talking about. “Unless I’m mistaken?”

~Fleet was stupid enough to promote me.~TJ thought.

TJ’s scan would show a few patches of scar tissue and a few healed broken bones; mostly in his hands.

Rivers-Eng

“Be careful with those hands of yours, I’m not sure you’re going to like the outcome if you break them again.” There was a sarcastic undertone to her words. “You seem fairly healthy, chap. Thus, you’re free to go.”

Dr. Odraavi

TJ was happy that was over. Clearly this doctor did not deal with engineers much.

Rivers-Eng

On a base of this size, the professions meant little to the medical field. They were all a blur of reds, golds and blues, never much making a difference towards their situation. Thus, Odraavi didn’t really deal with anyone in particular, rather everyone, and then probably accidentally treating them like they’re a different department. Oh well. Turning away, she went to log the results of the scans and clear him for duty.
