“Permission granted Lt. Rendana.”

=/\=Rebooting in 30 seconds. Just a warning that there could be a brief fluctuation in our already fluctuating environmental controls and lighting may revert to emergency lights during the reboot.=/\=

Taking a deep breath, Avalise entered the codes and initiated a full system reboot.

Lt. (j.g) Rendana, COO

If the movie Jurassic Park taught us anything it was that manual reboot of systems was a good way to contain bad things. And so it was here. When Rendana flipped the switch, as it were, the main core went through the Engineering Corpse prescribed shutdown procedure. You don’t just push and hold the power button on one of theses systems, obviously.

On the monitor, Rendana could see as they shut off on the main core the system started back up on the secondary core, one at a time, each primary system shutting down and starting back up, followed by the subsystems and lastly a prompt: Disconnect Primary Core?

GM Wombat

“Good job,” Rendana said as she patted the console. Then she typed in her command to disconnect. Once the Secondary Core had taken over and they had isolated the issues in the primary core, they could switch it back over.

=^= Foley to Rendana. How did the reboot go? =^=

LtCmdr Foley XO

=/\=Looking good, Commander. We’re fully switched over to the Secondary Core and I’m just disconnecting the Primary Core. Once we’ve isolated the issues in the Primary, we can switch back, but for now we’re safe to handle essential operations on the Secondary. I would caution you to restrict non-essential systems like holodeck and what not for now though.=/\=

Lt. (j.g) Rendana, COO

The primary core disengaged as would be expected and just kind of sat there, doing its thing, or not, as the case may be. For all other measures everything is running smoothly.

GM Wombat

=^= Keep us informed Lieutenant. We’ll keep the non-essential systems powered down for now, and we are going to keep the weapons and shields powered down for now. =^=

LtCmdr Foley - XO

=/\=Got it, Commander. I’ll be sure that power is available for those systems as a priority draw, just in case. I’m going to work on isolating the issues in the Primary Core and update you if I find anything. Rendana out.=/\=

Okay, let’s get this sorted out, she thought as she brought up the diagnostics screen for the Primary Core. “Computer, run a Level One diagnostic on the Primary computer core. Identify and isolate any extraneous programming.” Since the core was already offline, it wasn’t a big deal to do a diagnostic of this magnitude since it would have required her to take it offline anyway. It would however take time, which hopefully she had.

Lt. (j.g) Rendana, COO

The very pleasant voice chirped out, “Level one diagnostic beginning. Time to completion, three hours and forty two seconds. Beginning examination of system logs now…”

With that the lights lit up as the system began its self diagnostic, occasionally spitting out pieces of reports such as fractured clusters, random code injections, and isolated command sets.
